  1. Finally got Professor Layton 4. I really wanted the US version for the London Life RPG which isn't in the EU version, as from the little info written about it on the net it seems to be really worth having. I managed to find a British stockist of it, which I think is reliable, but I'll have my fingers and toes crossed until it arrives. Also interested to see if the US Luke's voice is as bad as people say because he's annoying enough on the EU one.
  2. The one that surprises me most is 827 different enemies, since I thought it was mostly the same each time with a few new ones thrown in and also that oracle of seasons/ages sold better than Links Awakening. I always sort of think of them as the forgotten Zeldas, whereas a lot of people have Links Awakening near the top of their favourites list. I'm actually quite surprised it's lower than phantom hourglass too I thought that everyone who owned a gameboy and liked zelda owned Link's Awakening.
  3. If I found that were I lived, I'd have to move house. After I'd burned it to the ground, of course.
  4. I guess that's US only as the link just takes me to the UK ubishop homepage.
  5. The boxart. I believe USK is German so EU will probably get this but the USA boxart may be different. I quite like it, though I with they'd 'shopped out top of the hat that goes over the white of the eye. and some gameplay footage. It's from the palace, but less edited than previously so you get more of a feel for the actual gameplay/pacing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuhVRo23OkM&
  6. I guess I may as well wait until Friday now and watch all of them at once. Are they any good?
  7. It's a bargain though - no dearer than a standard edition and some nice stuff in there. I'm guessing if it's the day 1 edition, once they're gone, they're gone. Give in to the temptation!
  8. Here is TCP's video if you don't want to go to kotaku
  9. Can you wipe the cards and use them with another account? Just wondering as now a lot of people are upgrading their cards does this news mean they can't sell on the older ones?
  10. I usually only buy dear EdTs after Christmas when they sell off the gift sets and get cheaper ones during the year but Boots have an offer on at the moment, so I thought I'd treat myself. That's not me, in case you're wondering (you can tell by the woman's hand)
  11. What texture do funnel cakes have? Are they doughy inside, or entirely crispy?

The good thing is I won't have a clue if whatever I end up with is a mile wide of the mark.

Depends whether you bake them with plastic or metal funnels. :P

Turned out nice, very filling though. Made some apple and cinnamon sauce and vanilla cream to go with them.

  12. Bit late, but wanted to say that's a great album. (edit: django django's album, that is. I haven't heard the bloc party one.) Also, loving this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCKlHKzIZl0 And also the demo, performed by Paul McCartney, who wrote it for her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4P7GaGajec
  13. An impulse purchase to say the least . I've never tried a string instrument before. I've wanted to but never fancied a guitar for some reason so I saw the ukulele and had a voucher that was about to expire and I thought, "why not?". I feel like I won't be too good at a stringed instrument, but it's not like I plan on making a career out of it. Anyway, wish me luck and be thankful you don't live in earshot!
  14. I prefer the newer simplified styles. They look a lot cleaner.
  15. BBC's own doctor who page says sat 1 sept. What's the pond life thing that's showing on the same day?
  16. I've never played a game on my NDS/3DS and wished it had a second circle pad. In fact I'm sort of glad it doesn't as I don't want developers to be encouraged to make crappy versions of console games which is all the 3DS would be able to manage and not at all why I bought it.
  17. It's not £150 anywhere near me, £170 is cheapest but that is the console on its own, Seems you need to spend at over £200 for the console and a decent sized memory card. £250 with a game. strange quote:"I paid 250 for it with no card or game and I still feel fine about it. I think it takes a solid day to toy around with it to see it's awesome and totally worth the price." that only reinforces my points, really. Hardly typical to purchase a console without a game or required accessory. Had it been cheaper would you have walked out of the shop with a game and a memory card? and I would hazard a guess you're more than a recreational gamer too, which is who Sony need to pull in not the enthusiast gamers like us who will seek out new products.
  18. Now I read back my comment it does seem more snarky than I'd intended. don't worry, it will probably be another two years before I get around to playing it, so I'll have long forgotten any of the jumpy bits/puzzles you mentioned. You certainly haven't spoiled the game. It just made me think of the zombiU demo I watched where so I know I'l be watching out for that when I play that game now.
  19. not if you don't want a second circle pad, which I don't and isn't part of the 3DS's design no matter what people want to think it is just a peripheral.
  20. The problem with tips in this country at least is most people feel obliged to give them regardless of service, which is one of the reasons I don't like them. Not to mention I have never seen service that has made me want to throw money at someone. and 7*[min. wage]=£40 which is not hard to spend on a meal. edit: sorry about double post but I could only imagine disasters trying to add a quote to an old post.
  21. You get income tax and national insurance taken off your pay by your employer before it is given to you. Tax is also automatically taken off interest you earn on savings/investments by your bank before you get the interest/income into your account. All other taxes are taken automatically at point of purchase for goods and services (e.g. VAT) Council tax comes like a bill, but doesn't involve you sending anything off first as it's based on the value of your house (which you don't really have any input in) not your income so only self-employed people have to fill in tax returns.
  22. The problem is it's less about being good value (it is) than it is about being cheap (it's not). Most people interested in gaming will buy a home console first, so they don't need a handheld as such, especially one perceived (rightly or wrongly) as replicating a home console. That means for the vita to sell to the masses and in mass volume it basically has to fall in to impulse purchase price range so that when someone sees a game they like the look of on it they don't have to think too long or hard if they can justify the price of the console to play it on.
  23. well, I'll know what to watch out for and not be scared by when I play through it now.
