Syndicate would be a good place to jump back in - it's one everybody agrees sees the series back on track. Storywise there's no link to the other games for the "in animus" plot, and the modern bit, well I guess technically that's a continuation but it's pretty minimal at this point, not like the desmond days and really can just be ignored, especially as it's only cut scenes now. I gave up following that aspect a several games ago and I've played them all. Plus now it's on a 2 year cycle it's not such an ominous task to keep on top of it if you do enjoy it.

Is the drought only in the south or all of California? Is this enough rain to help or I guess it would need to be more long-term. Speaking of weather*, we had what would charitably called snow on Christmas Day. The thing is I did really want it to be snow. I guess everyone thinks of snow as Christmassy because of Christmas cards and films etc. but I wonder if the UK is one of the few places that wishes for it. Most places won't have a chance and many others get a load of snow all winter so it's just the same as every other day around it. I think it's the rarity/uncertainty/hope that makes it a big deal here. *though I wish this thread was still alive for chit chat rather than random thoughts, random things which I feel has a more specific purpose than that even though it's random

It was Stephen Mangan from green wing in the mini series from several years ago - if you see him in anything it's usually worth checking out. I hadn't realised there was a new version which does explain why people were suddenly talking about it which I thought was odd. Glad to see Samuel Barnett in something good, he was in Beautiful People which I thought was hilarious but hadn't heard of him in a while. Oh and since this is the Doctor Who thread and not TV discussion, I guess I should mention that. I thought it was awful and I wasn't happy to see MAtt Lucas in the teaser at the end of it - I find him really annoying so was hoping he'd be confined to that one episode.
