  1. I finished Assassin's Creed Syndicate today. I got all the collectables, except white chests and helixes as I didn't need the money, and not sure what the helixes get you? The beer bottle belt and aegis outfit were pretty great for something you could get early on. Topper was the only guy I couldn't max out my loyalty with as I just couldn't do the races, though I enjoyed the shirtless brawling I didn't play any DLC, and since it's £24 on XO, I won't be even though I'd like to :/ I think they've struck a good balance of story and non-story activities now, I particularly like the conquering boroughs ideas they've the had last few games. Wish they'd make it easier to get hold of your money though, and I missed the sleuthing they had in the last game, thought there was a small bit of it here. I liked the story and the new characters, shame we won't see them again. I liked swapping between them for stealth and brawn tasks, though once I'd maxed out their stats that made less difference. I even think I understand the Juno plot now thanks to the World War I rift, and it seems that will come to head in the next game? Even though I just finished Unity fairly recently, far from being sick of them this has made the extended wait for the new one seem interminable.
  2. While I can understand all the miffed customers Nintendo is leaving in its wake, I'll be buying a nx zelda launch bundle and will love it. I genuinely don't know what they could do that would stop me buying their consoles. Mind you I am a sucker for suck things as I told myself I wasn't going to get an Xbox one this gen, after not loving the 360 and I did, though that's sort of turned out well as it means when I finally get a ps4 it will be the updated one so I'm relatively happy.
  3. Posting it twice doesn't make it longer
  4. After the last Nintendo bundle was NA only, I jumped on this as soon as I found out about it as it's the sort of thing it would be great to see more of from Nintendo. I do own a few physically, so I may sell those and keep the digital, as I've not actually played any of them.
  5. There's a lot of method acting annoying a lot of people to varying degrees, and you often hear about this sort of stuff from directors too (Hitchcock and Kubrick?). To me it seems very selfish from an actor and from a director, if they can't get a good performance out of their actors without abusing them they're not good enough at their job. I don't think filmed entertainment is important enough for the 'end justifying the means' platitude which to be honest I'm not a fan of anyway. here's the link the quote's from it's a list of different actors getting into role, not just about Leto.
  6. I've not seen any clips as I have no interest (not enjoyed any of the marvel films I've seen), but i feel like I've been hearing about this bloomin' civil war film for what feels like well over a year possibly two, to the point where I actually thought it had been out a long while.
  7. I know it's not quite the same situation, but nintendo's ambassador programme when they had the hefty price drop on 3ds is the nearest thing I can think of where the manufacturers directly made a gesture of good will. So they could offer a selection of games for download, like they did with the pan outage, if they're sony published it wouldn't cost them that much?
  8. Finished wolf among us. I enjoyed it but I would only play another of the tell tale games if I was interested in the franchise, I didn't like the format enough to play them for their own sake. I was kind and just, as I Felt that was the truer narrative, plus I always end up being good, even when I've wanted to do a naughty play through of a game and I think it would have been fun in this game? I tried not to replay too much and stuck to just one save file and didn't replay any of the ending so I don't feel too cheaty, and honestly I can't worry about things like that.
  9. Or onto the nx portable! ...Yeah, even I don't believe that.
  10. Loved the Layton games and they made he jump to 3ds really well. Shame they're over and done with in that form.
  11. I got it for £11 new which is cheaper than I've seen either the GOTY or vanilla version, or the dlc though I guess it's all cheaper on PC. when I read about the keep it did sound like a way of inputting decisions you made from the previous games rather than setting up the world fresh so that makes sense now about lacking context. I'll still have a look but maybe not get too hung up on it. Kind of just want to sate my Dorian lust that's been stoked by tumblr, tbh so whatever gets me to that fastest.
  12. I bought DA Inquisition GOTY edition for Xbox one. I've been umming and ahhhing as I've not played the other games so I'll miss some of the finer plot/character development points, but since you couldn't bring all your old decisions over from saves anyway I don't feel too bad. I'll do the keep website thing first to see what's happened and hope that's enough. Though I did notice when I was trying to link my gamertag to my ea account that I have da origins which I didn't realise but for the sake of my sanity and my backlog I'm trying to pretend to myself that I didn't see it.
  13. I've been playing Wind Waker HD, and the rupees are quite plentiful so when I got a letter from Granny saying she was proud of me and giving me all the money she'd managed to save up to help on my adventure, and it was only 20 rupees I felt a bit teary.
  14. I just finished the first episode of wolf among us. It's the first telltale game I've played and I don't think I'll be playing another. It's because of the timed decision making and no going bAck in decisions just stress me out too much. my brain just doesn't work fast enough and I make a decision I didn't mean to. Don't get me wrong wrong though, I know that's what makes the game but and absolutely am not happy with that and it's going to spoil the rest of the game for me. I may replay the whole episode just for that one decision, but then what happens if I mess up again? I can't keep replaying it and don't even think I should as that defeats the point. Urgh.
  15. So you can't make your mark on any planets you discover beyond naming it? I suppose that makes sense but it's a bit disappointing. Obviously, I wouldn't expect it to remember every animal you killed but if your mined all a resource, or killed ALL the animals somehow, it should be gone when someone else arrives
  16. Anyone using Miitomo? I don't know what to make of it at all. I guess part of my problem is I'd probably answer the questions in earnest, but the people I'm on it with... don't. so it doesn't jam with the Nintendo vibe. I guess it seems too unfocused too, as I don't know when it wants to ask me questions or when people have replied to my answers, you just always feel like you're rooting around trying to find the point that isn't actually there. I guess if it had proper chat functions so you could have a conversation with close friends if you wanted to and the other stuff went on in between, with people you may not have real chat with, then I'd find it more useful. I guess at the moment it's fun(?) but once the novelty wears off and people stop using it, it's no good on your own, unless they add in an "everybody votes" channel type function which I think would fit in here well and would work when your friends aren't using it. Speaking of which, it's insane how the friend adding works, that it doesn't use people on your nintnedo friends list. I guess i's to force people to talk about it on twitter/facebook? Who knows.
  17. the fact I only had a month to play it got my bum in gear. I'll be playing Wolf among us next for the same reason.
  18. I've been waiting for AC Syndicate to drop below £20, while it's hovered tantalisingly close for months. I went to Sainsbury's looking to get a LIVE GOLD subscription, as they have improved their Nectar double up offer substantially, but it wasn't included in the offer. They did have the AC game though which is pretty miraculous as the selection is rubbish at my local store. and with the offer it only cost me £10 in nectar points, and no real money at all. Result!
  19. I just completed Sherlock Holmes: Crime and Punishment on XO. It was a free game with gold, which I got one month of for £1 so it didn't owe me much, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's a point and click, which was my favourite sort of game, but i've not played one for ages. I came to the correct conclusion for each case, and never got into the situation where you're wondering around revisiting places wondering what to do, so it was quite easy for the genre. Having said that, some of the QTEs and minigames were rock hard, needing fast reflexes and pinpoint accuracy, which didn't fit the pace of the game or the target audience i'd imagine. I'll look for similar games, or by the same developer, so i guess that's as much praise as you can give.
  20. Even if road markings are 100%, there could be snow or wet leaves obscuring markings, or wet roads and low winter sun combine to create reflections that dazzle out road markings. Rural roads often don't have edge markings to begin with, and while it's a nice idea that roads are fully maintained, that's not going to happen, and frankly that's not how I'd best like council's scant money being spent. I find it a bit troubling they're pushing forward so fast with this when such a fundamental issue is unresolved and their solution is not only impracticable, but doesn't even address the underlying problem.
  21. I think that's the first time I've heard of a demo actually achieving it's goal.
  22. If anyone's got Miitomo, add me on facebook, so I can add you on Miitomo, please! www.facebook.com/JoeAConnolly

Oh yeah. Much as I hate facebook, I often completely forget about twitter.

  23. Possibly the cutest thing in this thread.
  24. Bearing that in mind who knows how real this is It's on Reddit posted by someone who says that he works at a triple a dev . (Haven't read the rest of it yet, will add anything else interesting if I see other) who knows if it's real but it certainly sounds like a better prospect than the fake one, but then makes me wonder what will be happening with the 3ds if the controller is take awayable but not a full stand alone handheld console not sure if that makes space for a new compatible portable console. Edit. Read through most of the thread... Not sure how believable it is. Don't know why I bother with this nonsense should just try and wait until Nintendo finally say something.
  25. Where'd you end up getting it from? Hope it ends up a worthwhile purchase for you, Don't think I'll be risking a early adoption of it.
