  1. That's quite the list. Which was you favourite game on there?
  2. We buy one new bauble for the tree each year but I made it this year. It's the first thing I've ever crocheted so it's a bit wonky/charmingly handmade, but I've tried so many times before just to crochet in a straight line and messed up and just unravelling it and I've had false starts with a number of crafts/arts over the years so am pleased I managed to finish it and it looks nice on the tree so yay me. Also, I know I didn't draw it, but I did make it. I don't know if there's enough making of stuff to warrant its own thread?
  3. Which adblocker gets rid of those?
  4. I'm intrigued enough by the xenoblade games to buy them but keep hearing enough things about them to never actually want to give them a go. My lack of saves looks stupid when I look back at it now but previously I've spoiled game flow by saving too often and then never going back to those saves anyway so I thought I'd try to save less so I guess I need to strike a balance.
  5. @TheMightyEthan it was from the 4th of December, it was about 43%. I'm now on about 53% and maybe 1 or 1.5 chapters further along. I couldn't go back that far but I did think about it. I'd only been saving manually when I thought I was coming up to some sort of decision but I guess they never made much difference but the saving is a bit clunky. I don't know why it doesn't just keep the last 2 or 3 autosaves or at least when you die give the option to start from last autosave or carry on. I'm sure I've had games that do that before now.
  6. I don't know if it's because I;m in the EU then, but literally any website you go to has a popup telling you to accept their cookies and tracking etc. some it's a bar at the top/bottom so you can just ignore it if you're only reading one page, but often it it a massive overlay right in the middle with the page greyed out and unscrollable so you literally cannot ignore it. If you've just searched something like "location of best horse RDR2" and you click through to this: it's a bit annoying. I don't want to just accept everything and while that kotaku one isn't bad as you can get rid in 3 clicks some websites you have to scroll through the whole privacy policy just to find out you cannot manage setting on their website only through your own browser behaviour and third party websites like adchoices. If you only want to read a couple of lines of text or see one picture it's just not worth it. On a similar note, I've always had in mind to reject 3rd party cookies, and I think most browsers reject them as default, but now you get a warning when you go on many websites that because you reject 3rd party cookies your choices will not be remembered. You need to enable tracking so they know not to track you but that opens you up to other sites tracking you without you realising. that also means you often have to go through the same rigmarole each time you visit the same site. It's genuinely got to the point where it has hampered my use of the internet.
  7. I just don't go through them anymore, and on a similar note any sites I can't easily manage cookies I don't bother with. I've literally spend minutes in the past clicking around in circles for sites I've wanted to use so if it's just a click through from the search page I go straight back and try another that doesn't try to confuse me into accepting their terms.
  8. Shame you're not in the UK as they're selling them for £25 in some places if you're lucky enough to find one. Kind of shows they're a bit poo though and/or massively unpopular, as I've not seen them do anything like that with the Nintendo equivalents.
  9. ffs, i was just on RDR 2 and was sat on my horse well back from a train when it killed me and the horse without ever touching me. When it reloaded, I had a new horse. The horse I'd had since the start of the game , through all the fights and highs and lows is gone forever cos of some whack-ass collision detection. I had to quit the game and really am pissed off enough at the moment that I might need to take a break from it for a day or two, but then I'll just be sad when I go back and see my shitty replacement. Definitely left it for the evening at any rate.
  10. I having moved from Chrome to Opera recently and being generally happy with it besides a few niggles I decided to give firefox a go. I use 2 finger scrolling - drag 2 fingers down anywhere on my trackpad to scroll - and it works fine in all my browsers, and adds a little scroll bar to the cursor when you use it. However, in firefox randomly it leaves the scrollbar part of the curror on screen, and that is persistent, staying there if I close the window, switch to another program etc. and when I move my cursor over it it shows a loading spinning wheel. Anyone come across this problem and know how to fix it?
  11. This is like a glamorous version of the ketchup machine
  12. His legs are much too human to be furry and blue. So disturbing.
  13. @TheMightyEthan I hope you're using all your spare time to encourage your cat to sit on that. @deanb what're your plans with a mortgage if that's not too personal?
  14. i'd not realised there were so many of them - I will need to pay more attention as I go along.
  15. who are your (and other people's) favourite camp characters?
  16. Penis mountaineering does not wait for Santa.
  17. I'm guessing this is a stupid question, but is there any point in a pro if you don't have a 4k tv?
  18. Thanks to Sainsbury's, I bought RDR II, and Assassin's Creed Origins for £35 (for both, not each) of loyalty points so technically free? I'm kind of more excited to play Origins but I think I'll have to play RDR II first just because I'm a cheap bastard so don't often get to play games when other people still are on them.
  19. I wish our nightmare could be over in six years max. This is exactly the predicament every sane person knew we would end up in - still bound by rules we now have no say in. In my terribly uninformed opinion I think the state aid part is going to be particularly ruinous for us as it already never seems to play out in our favour and having our own rules for that was actually one of the few silver linings I saw to the brexit cloud. I struggle to see how we could have had a worse outcome from the negotiations. Though it could actually be so bad that it does not get voted for by MPs and that would lead to a potential new referendum or even a general election. But that would require the conservative MPs to vote in the public interest rather than in a self-serving manner to keep themselves in power so I have little expectation of that actually coming to pass.
  20. I can't say I'm not curious, but at the same time I do not particularly want to see it.
  21. Just bought a ticket to Farmageddon and "all prices shown include administration fees and facility fee" so I naively assumed the face value would be the final cost. They charge a £1 something delivery cost for the e-ticket you print out yourself. Cheeky monkeys.
  22. How'd everyone like the new Doctor?
  23. Oceanhorn. Probably the worst game I've played to completion? I feel sorry for people who think it's an acceptable alternative to Zelda. It is not.
  24. Ertha Kitt singing in Welsh. not sure why that tweet isn't embedding? anyway, this is a trip.
