  1. Did you all vote in the elections on Thursday? What does everyone think of this UKIP phenomenon? bad things I hope. looks like they'r going to be top in the European election. It doesn't help that they've been so overexposed in the media - 90% of coverage seems to be about them.
  2. I'm sure things will improve - my only worry is, since the current consoles are so similar to PC architecture then they won't improve by too much as developers are not travelling in such uncharted waters as they were at the start of last gen.
  3. As a non-PC gamer I'd not link resolution to graphics quality settings. so, e.g. someone saying, "I dropped the resolution so I could play it on high settings" would be how I imagine things. So it seems OK to say console = high PC settings even if the resolution is lower. also,it says there is an ultra setting for PC so you can have better quality graphics and at a higher resolution if your PC is up to it. Having said all that and while I'm sure it will look lovely I do find it slightly disappointing still that "next" gen isn't 1080p as standard.
  4. I can't decide if this is awesome or hilariously bad.
  5. thanks for the extra info. by the time I come to my own buying decision everything will probably be wireless anyway...
  6. that's cool - I guessed splitting out the audio would need power, and that's what I'd like it for more than the extra inputs.
  7. does it use a power adaptor? I'd love something like that but I couldn't bear another plug behind the TV. There's just so many wires already.
  8. I guess it did well in the first year when people still believed it might be as good and well utilised as Microsoft told everyone. Come year two and it was not half as effective as the adverts implied and games only used it as a very expensive microphone if at all and they should have realised the public had lost trust in it.
  9. Just had a quick look and it's Fable Legends, it says its a co-op version of the Fable, but will keep people playing for 5 years? Sounds a but weird unless maybe it will be to MMOs what the previous games were to RPGs.
  10. The only xbox exclusive game I liked was Fable, but I'm not insane enough to buy a console just to play that. Haven't even heard anything about that except the Journeys game. Is that franchise dead now?
  11. No doubt, it just read like you were expecting an E3 announcement or something. Personally, I'm waiting for the slim PS4 while I work through my gaming backlog on my other consoles. .At the moment I can't think what MS could do to make me buy a XO.
  12. Zelda and Lego City Wii U bundles are £150 (each, obvs.) in HMV stores. If you ever were tempted to get a Wii U it is very unlikely you'll find a better offer than that.
  13. Half life 2 and portal on shield is not so much gilding the lily as polishing a turd so I wouldn't spend too long feeling jealous. That time could be spent on the half a dozen other systems you probably own that could play those for the last decade.
  14. why would the console manufacturers want people buying games through steam and playing them on their loss making hardware? The only reason they make hardware is to sell the software for it.
  15. I used to listen to Out of Time so often - I loved it but the strange thing is it brings back a really vivid memory of me doing a jigsaw puzzle - I can picture the entire scene exactly in my mind right down to the physical feeling of the play button on my walkman under my finger.
  16. I think it's a bit soon to be hoping for a slim model! Aren't they usually two or three years down the line?
  17. I can't believe anyone making any sort of life sim didn't at least look at The Sims and see what sort of things you can do in that, so to say it didn't cross a single employee's mind is rather giving them the benefit of the doubt they probably don't deserve. Saying it's a fun and whimsical isn't an excuse either as it's implying same sex relationships would somehow sully that light mood which is hardly better. Since it was obviously a glitch to begin with that allowed gay male relationships and pregnancy ( and not lesbian relationships) they could have fixed it by adding in same sex female relationships not taking out the male ones. and if they didn't want to over complicate things and keep with the fanciful take on real life they could have kept the pregnancy for both same sex relationships. It would be that far from real life it couldn't be seen as making political statements and the whimsical take on real life excuse would actually make sense in that case.
  18. Can't believe all the stupid adults stood around letting the child do that.
  19. This is so important You don't understand how important this is It's a drawing of martin freeman and benedict cumberbatch snuggling on a sofa reading a book. I understand exactly how important it is.
  20. I don't think they should concentrate on becoming number one but on becoming profitable in third place. To do that they need to get back to making profitable hardware. People complain about the kinect pushing prices up but the wiiU pad has meant the console itself is not up to scratch and dearer than it should be plus I still haven't seem any uses that justifies the compromises brought about. I also think their decision to stick with powerPC architecture was a disaster as it just puts one more reason for third party developers not to make ports which really hurts it's chances in a one console household. Also I don't know how they run their company but from the outside it seems to be massively inefficient. They can't afford on any level to have games coming out a year or more after everyone is expecting them. I know everyone complains about merciless publishers crushing the souls of developers, which to that extreme is bad, but it seems like, on both the hardware and software front Nintendo is running itself as an indie developer, doing exactly what it wants to in a time frame it wants to with no regard the business side of things. Stop thinking "that's cool we should do that" and put their business hat on. It feels like Nintendo is the last gaming company, rather than a business that makes games, and in this market that is not going to cut it. Having said that the Wii and DS made a truck load of money - more than enough to keep Nintendo afloat until their fad console so I really don't see them leaving the hardware market. In fact I think they'd be least likely of the three (MS being most likely - at least to sell xbox off not just shut it down. I could see if they had a change of management them streamlining quite drastically and concentrating on selling business sevices with just core products of windows and office left on the consumer side)
  21. I READ THE PREVIOUS POST. I didn't understand what you wrote, because I haven't heard of the app, "press". I've already said that - the previous post doesn't mention press so it doesn't help me with your post. All you needed to do was be nice and write "press is an app that works with feedly" OR be neutral and not write anything and someone else could answer (as two kindly did). Instead you chose to give an entirely unhelpful and douchey response. Anyway. I didn't understand, you were unhelpful - it's a tale as old as time (or at least this board). This conversation isn't going anyway so let's just drop it.
  22. Are you seriously trying to make an excuse as to why I should have to include the question in my answer? I would have liked you to include an answer in your answer. That is the usual response to a question, so seemed reasonable to expect. Two other people managed it.
