  1. Last one is funnier here (sfw, no sound)
  2. What are examples of terrible British baked goods? I wouldn't even call pancakes baked goods myself and it's not like we don't have pancakes here, people just generally prefer the bigger flatter more crepe like ones. Of course ours aren't as paper thin as a French crepe. I guess you like what you grow up with as I find American style pancakes kind of dry and tasteless. But I've never had them in America so maybe no one here makes them right. If anyone had any tips on making them nice I'd love to be convinced of their virtues.
  3. What would be the difference between cheap and dear dice and what's the numbering on the back left die? Is it going up in tens? Also, if you're buying them does that mean board games don't come with them when you buy them? Is there a standard set that would show you to play most games?
  4. i read the article, prior to my previous post. it says they're brownies without cocoa. I've never seen one without white chocolate chips in so it is bascally what i said and completely different to the oat flapjack in the photo
  5. Sounds good and I always do the side stuff so should be decent value. guess now I only have to hope they reduce it in the EU. probably shouldn't get my hopes up.
  6. Is the freedom cry dlc any good? Not sure I've ever bought any story SLC before so not sure what sort of value to expect
  7. The bottom picture isn't like a Blondie, which is just a white chocolate brownie isn't it? The photo Is still made of oats. Just oats butter and sugar mixed and baked. I've never made crumpets before, but I have made pikelets. I think the only difference is you pour the batter into a ring when you're frying it to make it taller and therefore a crumpet. Definitely worth the effort to make them fresh. Absolutely yummy. I prefer pikelets to crumpets, which can be a bit rubbery. A nice one is nice though and we probably have them more than pikelets as they're hard to find.
  8. Entered my first tournament today. It was for hosts and listeners of a group of Gay gaming podcasts. It was 12 races but was open for 2 hours. I kind of wish you could re-enter it. There was plenty of time to do another batch of 12 tracks and many people would have been happy to. Not sure if that's a mandatory condition or one they chose to implement though? How's everyone doing with online? I've lost my connection once or twice but apart from that it seems really solid, not had any noticeable lag or anything even when worldwide, unless they just hide it better than in previous games. My score is only 1200 so far. I've seen one over 3000 so I wonder if they match you with people with similar scores? Anyway it's good fun and fast to do if I'm done with cups for the day.
  9. nothing is important in the grand scheme of things. I guess in regards to the uncharted series we won't know until the fourth one is out. But weren't the first three supposed to be a trilogy and with four being the first one on a new console too I will imagine it would be ok to skip three. Having said that there may be the possibility of a rerelease of the first three in an upscaled collection?
  10. The capital R only just manages to save that sentence.
  11. Have they ever had any non-mario characters before? Toon zelda would be cool. you could have a deku leaf as a sail and if they could make the kart look like the the king of red lions boat I would flip. They could make a toon epona that handled like a motorbike. If they added new tracks based on hyrule locations and heavy character gorons and light lake hylia fish people etc that would add up to a decent dlc pack i would be happy to pay for. with them adding the mercedes car (which to me looks completely out of place) I can't think what direction they're headed though. i would download it a try î once but certainly but certainly wouldn't part with any cash for it. edit- holy heck. i cannot type on this tablet, sorry!
  12. May be of interest to people who bought this on PC. Apparently it makes the game look better and improves frame rate. Someone who tried it says they went from high to ultra graphics and got higher frame rates. Can't make a Clucky link on mobile, sorry. http://m.pcgamer.com/uk/2014/06/16/watch-dogs-mod-aims-to-recreate-e3-2012-visual-effects-improve-performance/
  13. ooh. hope it's still on sale - just need to work out if i bougĥt it for my xbox. Really need to get thing plugged back in. edit- is it definitely cross buy? I can't see where it says that.
  14. I jumped the track in one of the rainbow road courses yesterday but it wasn't the shortcut mentioned above. No idea if I actually went ahead or back though so not necessarily useful but definitely possible! I forgot how frustrating Mario kart can be. Thought people had said blue shells were less of an issue this time but that doesn't seem the case to me. Eg.I finally got one of the speaker power ups drove 1.5 laps with it in first place started thinking I was about to win when I got hit by lightning which knocks the power up out of your hand and then immediately got hit by a blue shell. Grrr.
  15. Yeah, I love all the styles they try out on Zelda. I was one of the rare breed that loved wind Waker's cell-shading right off the bat. Strange how everyone seems to love it now - there was a right furore when it was announced.
  16. I don't think Nintendo is willing to spend the resources making highly detailed "realistic" graphics. I know they said the had one of their biggest teams ever working on this and it was only 50 or 60 people. There's indie teams nearly that big! So for a game that has a lot objects in it like Zelda will I don't think we'll get a realistic looking one again.
  17. Wasn't it just people were pleased they could use the gcn controller rather than Wiimotes on brawl which was reasonable to be pleased about. But that has now somehow morphed into thinking gcn controllers are the best option, period.
  18. I was thinking of getting earthbound but the remix games do look intriguing. I'm kind of hoping they'll be on offer at some point if you buy both.
  19. MalH is correct. I set it up last night. It's fine for the money. The t100 is a lot nicer but over twice the price and definitely out of impulse purchase territory for me.
  20. yeah, that's what i think doesn't make sense if it was just pre-apocalyptic graffiti it would be everywhere like it is now and it wouldn't bother me
  21. You should get rid of the desk in your room if you don't use it - bedrooms are a lot more relaxing if they don't have work associated items in them.
  22. I didn't really want super mario kart but it's price was knocked off MK8 when you bought both so was essentially free. I chose WWHD as my free game. I was thinking of getting wonderful 101, but I didn't enjoy the demo. I've been told that doesn't well represent the game so I will probably buy it if I see it cheap which is more likely than seeing WWHD cheap. Cool thing is that WW counts toward the Nintendo premium, (more than MK8 plus super MK together, in fact) so I now have £10 I can claim.
  23. If the graffiti is supposed to be by one insane person I sort of don't mind if it is where someone was confined (e.g. a prison/asylum cell) as I can imagine that happening. When it's spread across an entire city it is just ridiculous as I can't help imagining this gibbering wreck scrawling something, then maintaining their frenzy as they walk half a mile (or scale a building to some inaccessible part) to write a bit more. If it not supposed to be by just one person it makes just as little sense - it's probably the sane survivors and if you're trying to escape an asylum or survive an apocalype, why take the time, and also draw attention to your position and the fact there is someone living here worth attacking?
  24. I cannot believe I bought this. I bought the original nexus 7 when it came out but it had that screen lift problem so I returned it and have been unable to decide on a replacement since. I was just about to turn my laptop off to go to work yesterday, when I spotted it on an Amazon lightning deal. I only had time to looks at the pro/con list on 2 reviews. They were positive if not glowing at it's RRP, it was a lot cheaper than that . With Amazon prime it had shipped by the time I'd got back from work so I couldn't have a look around and cancel. I'm kind of glad I suppose: my own indecision was really starting to annoy me. I'm making myself not look for better deals, problems with it or alternatives etc. as I usually do after most major purchases and inevitably find bad news for myself. At any rate this will allow me to wait for a tablet I really want to come out and it's Windows so I can give it to my Mum and she'll be OK using it so it won't go to waste when I do upgrade. Do I sound like I've convinced myself yet?
  25. I guess people should proceed with more caution than I thought but it was certainly still a great decision for me
