Currys have silver 3DS XLs new for £80 in store. They're clearance so won't definitely have them in every store, but if you've been wanting one or know someone who has it's worth taking a look as that's a substantial saving.

Black Flag finally got down to £20, which is the price I was waiting for. Even after just a couple of hours I love it. Yes it's more of the same but I never get tired of it. The only weird thing I've encountered so far was my walking pace was slower than the guy I was supposed to be walking along with, so I kept having to break out into a run - I hope it was just that one guy. The two minutes of ship battles you get in the opening sequence were a lot better than the previous game so I hope that's what it's like throughout as it was the only thing I wasn't looking forward to in this game.

I wish there was decent way to express appropriate levels of mirth on the internet.

I remember reading all the hype about uncharted which made it sound like an adventure game with almost like-zelda gameplay just with guns instead swords so when I finally got to playing it I was super disappointed that it was just another third person shooter with a bit of jumping around. I guess that it's easier to just throw a load of enemies in to an area than create a range of decent and varied puzzles.

Generally, in uncharted (and most games) aren't baddies guarding areas, then you shoot one from the shadows and then they fire back, defending their base/property? You're basically usually the instigator/agressor.

Ni No Kuni is £4 odd on PSN at the moment. That's got to be a bargain.

I can't remember if we discussed this before. what do you guys think of the case? And regardless of what you think happened, what verdict do you think will be reached? I would say he killed her on deliberately and there is a lot of lying going on. Unfortunately, you really never know what the outcome will be.

I've not tried swiftkey, but I'm really liking Google's swipey version of their own keyboard. It is much more accurate than their standard keyboard which I really struggle with and a lot quicker to boot. And to be honest I'm typing this on my laptop and kind of resisting the urge to swipe my fingers over the keyboard. BUT I've seen Minuum and it looks intriguing. It's a thin strip at the bottom of your screen with all three standard qwerty rows overlayed on the same line so you can see more of what's going on behind it. Sometimes you only get a couple of centimetres of the page you actually want to see so this really appeals to me. Has anyone had a go of it?

I'm guessing Nintendo's thinking is if they released both at the same time people would choose one or the other, but with a half year gap between them they are hoping people will buy the 3DS version to get their fix ASAP, then come winter time they'll also buy the 'proper' version on the Wii U.

How's he going to feel about you going in to his room? Did you tell him before he found out to take the edge off it

I guess it makes sense we use the French term rather than Italian. I believe we do with most of our food terms, e.g. for meat names. And I'm not sure if it's just stereotyping but there seems to be a stronger Italian-American culture in the USA than French so it would make sense that you use zucchini over there. I'm guessing any Brit that uses zucchini is because they are reading about it on the internet which tends to be America-centric. Brits are exposed to Americanisms a lot more than Americans are exposed to Briticisms. Sometimes they just seep in. I nearly caught myself calling a lift an elevator last week. On a similar note I finally have arugula (rocket) and cilantro (coriander) straight in my mind as I always got the two American terms mixed up.

Here's another Scarlett Johansson film - looks interesting

"There's next to no need to present just Windows 8 as a viable alternative to Windows XP though." so what are you suggesting they present as an alternative?

I keep reading Sony are exceeding their expectations, and I know they're outselling XO, but on their own terms are MS doing as well as they hoped/forecasted?
-
Supporting legacy OSes doesn't make them current OSes, no one in microsoft is going to tell anyone to go and buy vista just because they still support it. I'm not saying upgrading to Windows 8 is a great decision for a business, I'm saying that's the only one MS will promote.

What are you listening to now?

I have her album in my Amazon wishlist but have no idea where I heard it (pretty sure it was this song I heard of it), which I find immensely frustrating - though I must admit I have no idea why i added half the stuff I have on it. At least I actually like it. Some of the stuff I see on there and I'm wondering what the heck I was thinking adding it. -
If they're trying to get them off XP, where else are they going to direct them except their current OS?
-
If they can cut their development times/budgets to be more in line with the sales you can expect from this sort of game nowadays then they are filling a role which is not being well served at the moment and there is no reason they shouldn't be successful. I certainly hope they are as we need as much diversity in the medium as possible, things are getting much too homogenised as companies (feel the) need to be more and more conservative.

I had a little break in the game to listen to this.
