  1. Iwata has come out and admitted that the port strike on the west coast is the reason for recent supply woes, and since the strike stretches all the way back to November this includes Amiibos, Gamecube adapters, and 3DS units alike. He also said it doesn't impact the supply of games because "games are lightweight and can be flown to America."
  2. Originally I did intend to wait on those two games until I upgraded my 3DS, mostly so I wouldn't have to worry about potentially losing any data during a transfer. However, it's starting to look like it will be several months before I can get my hands on a New 3DS version I want, if not longer, and I don't want to wait THAT long to play Majora. My current XL still works fine.
  3. Hey, I stuck to my guns about not buying a New 3DS until I can get one I want, but I was already planning to get Majora regardless. Monster Hunter I mostly got to play with friends, and that's a Capcom game anyway.
  4. With all the crap I've been dealing with recently I felt like I deserved a little treat.
  5. Apparently there's a dock workers' strike happening on the west coast right now, and while I still don't believe Nintendo has produced anywhere near enough New 3DSes to meet the demand, the fact that 90% of Asia's goods are shipped to the US through the west coast could indicate that there may be a bunch of New 3DS systems sitting on a boat right now, unable to get into the country because of the strike. Keep in mind that there is evidently no 3DS shortage in Europe, even of the limited edition systems.
  6. Well, I'll go ahead and answer those questions for you. It's one school year. However, if I recall correctly by the time I beat the final boss I was in the late 80s or early 90s as far as my levels were concerned, and I didn't go out of my way to grind much except at the very end. It was the same deal with P4 for me, mostly because the most useful Personas in the game require really high levels. I had put in over 90 hours by the time I beat P4, and I think I put in 70 or so with P3 but it's been a while so don't quote me on that. P4 takes about two hours or so before you really even get past the intro, but most people feel that it's better paced because there's more than one dungeon and each dungeon is directly tied into the story as opposed to Tartarus, which is "explore the dungeon because I don't know!" Still love P3, but P4 edges it out ever so slightly if you ask me. Oh yeah, I also like P4's cast more. I'm actually not that wild about P3's cast except for Junpei, who is a total bro.
  7. $12 an hour? What kind of gross-ass whores have you been going to?
  8. 60 dollars is a lot of money for me. I can't justify spending that on something that will only entertain me for five hours, no matter how good it is.
  9. Sony abandoned the trademark for The Last Guardian. Interpret that however you will.

"The Last Guardian's trademark in the US has been abandoned, but it appears this was due to an administrative error at PlayStation America, as Sony has confirmed to GameSpot that the project is still in development."

IIRC, I believe an error like this has happened with TLG before.

Yep this has happened before, on a different continent I think.

It's definitely in development, but has been passed around a couple of teams. I'm actually curious to see the game just so we can see WHY it's been such a bitch to develop.

  10. 5 hours? In a game with no multi? What the fuck?
  11. Anyone play the Wii U Monster Hunter? I've been thinking about trying the series again but I'm reluctant to spend 40 dollars on a gamble.

If it's 3 Ultimate, it's $19.75 on Amazon. Never played it though and people are raving about 4 Ultimate as the best. Got mine today at Best Buy for the $10 gift card.

      I'm gonna be playing 4.

  12. I continue to reject the notion that purposely limiting supply is good for anyone but scalpers. If they made a bunch of units for a few months and then stopped that would be one thing. It's still a shitty practice, but at least I would understand it. However, that's not the case here. This isn't a "limited" edition they keep running out of. This is a "ha ha fuck you, you'll never own one" edition. There are so few of these so-called limited editions to go around that most people, myself included, don't even get a CHANCE to buy one. I would happily throw my money at them as soon as possible to get the MM edition before they stop making it, but nobody will let me because there aren't enough units for everyone who wants one. That's bad business no matter how you slice it. How is not taking the money of thousands and thousands of people supposed to benefit them? Also, I don't put a lot of stock in that "desperation" angle either where they're counting on people to look for the special ones, then give up and buy the regular one out of frustration. Not only is that extremely manipulative (and unnecessary) but I just don't think that's how it works. I'm sure there are people like that out there, but I bet there are just as many who will decide to not even bother. I'm one of them. I could maybe go for the Monster Hunter one if there comes a point where Nintendo is obviously never making the MM version again, since that one looked pretty nice to me too, but I outright refuse to buy red or black. I'm not spending 200 dollars on a version I don't want, so Nintendo can either get their shit together or they can fuck off until they make some other edition that interests me because I'm not going to reward their incompetence.
  13. Does anyone need 50 more Club Nintendo coins to get something from the reward page? I have a Bravely Default code I'll never use since I already redeemed all my coins and I'm willing to give it to whoever needs it to hit the threshold for something.
  14. So we all know that Nintendo sucks at keeping stock available, be it the 3DS, Amiibos, Gamecube adapters, or just about anything else, and usually the two prevailing theories are that either Nintendo is completely incompetent (which is what I think) or that they deliberately make fewer units to increase demand. However, I read a third possibility recently which, while still shady and asinine, at least makes more sense to me than the "increasing demand with no supply" idea. I have no idea if this is true or not, but someone suggested that maybe they're shipping so few units so that they can guarantee 100% sell through, which they can in turn report to investors so they can look good. Like I said, completely shady, but I can see a sort of logic to it. Many of Nintendo's investors don't even know the first thing about what they do. All they care about is whether or not they're making money, and they probably like to hear Nintendo say that they sold out every single unit they shipped. Never mind that they only shipped a dozen to each store.
  15. Well if it's there, it wasn't in the demo for some reason.
  16. The P5 hype train has room for one more passenger...
  17. I would be shocked if you actually find one, Ethan, but I appreciate you taking the time to look on my behalf.
  18. Target canceled my order... I spent all day thinking I had gotten to be one of the lucky ones for once only to have it yanked away from me almost twelve hours later. YOU GAVE ME FALSE HOPE, YOU FUCKING BASTARDS!
  19. Yeah, never mind all that stuff I said earlier. God damn it...

Nope...They waited until almost 10 PM last night to cancel it on me.

  20. I wouldn't recommend buying any 3DS that isn't at least an XL, either. I've tried it both ways and the original screens are garbage.
  21. Yup. Got confirmation a little while ago, and the website updated to "out of stock" about 20 minutes after I got the email. I think I'm in the clear!
