  1. I don't remember which one of you it was who told me about that NowInStock website, but whoever it was, I owe you a beer.

  2. Ethan, the check I'm writing to you right now contains my life savings... NEVER MIND THAT SHIT. I JUST MANAGED TO PLACE AN ORDER ON TARGET'S WEBSITE RIGHT AFTER THEY MADE THEM AVAILABLE AGAIN. I STILL DON'T HAVE THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL THOUGH SO I DON'T KNOW IF MY 3DS IS SECURE. OH GOD PLEASE DON'T CANCEL IT.
  3. I just happened to wake up early this morning so I went to all three Targets around my area less than an hour after they opened, hoping that maybe I would get lucky. All three of them got in the Majora's Mask 3DS. All three of them had sold out before I could get there. You know how many they got? Four. FOUR. There were only four of the other colors, too, which means each Target store only got a total of 12 measly units to go around. It's always going to be like this, isn't it? Nintendo is never going to get their shit together and make enough hardware for everyone who wants to buy it. I'll still wait to see if by some miracle the stock replenishes and I can act fast enough to get one, but learning they only got four on launch day is not encouraging at all.
  4. I'm thinking of getting the new Shantae on the Wii U but I need to beat the previous one on Steam first. I originally had it on my iPod (no steam version back then) but I never finished it because the map was atrocious and I constantly got lost. I doubt they fixed that in the steam port, so hopefully I can power through it regardless. Outside of the terrible map, it really is a very good game.
  5. I don't accept that first point as a valid reason at all. Because the game has fewer modes of play, that makes it worth more? What? Even Call of Duty won't drop its prices without being dragged kicking and screaming the whole way, but most other games, whether they're multiplayer or not, go down in price after a while because there comes a point where it's no longer the new hotness and if they still want to draw in new players they have to make it cheaper than whatever said new hotness is. I will concede your second point though. There will probably never be another Mario Kart or Smash Bros on the Wii U, and I guess Nintendo is well aware of that. Even if you buy a Wii U five years from now, if you want Mario Kart then your only choices will be to either buy Mario Kart 8 or fuck off. Having said that, why is New Super Mario Bros Wii U, a launch title, still 60 bucks? There have been other Mario platformers since then. Better ones, too. How many people would honestly pick NSMBWU over 3D World when they both cost the same? Even Gamestop lowered the price of a used copy to 40.
  6. The Nintendo premium is such a load of crap. What exactly am I getting that makes it worth paying full price for a Nintendo game two or three years after release? It sure isn't online multiplayer.
  7. Well if you want the first party one I guess that's true, but at least there are third party options available at more reasonable prices.
  8. I really hope they're not that stupid. There is literally no reason to intentionally limit the supply of a new console. All that would do is create fewer sales for Nintendo and more for scalpers.
  9. It looked like Dead Island again and I fucking hated Dead Island. Parkour isn't enough to salvage that game for me. Also I'm just sick of zombies in general.
  10. Do you live outside the US? Both of those things you mentioned are on amazon, but I was checking the US site. And to clarify my previous point, if this were any other company in the world other than Nintendo the scalpers wouldn't piss me off nearly as much. Scalpers are always bad, don't get me wrong, but if we're talking iPhones or PS4s or something like that, you can usually be sure that eventually there will be enough for everybody, even if you have to wait a bit. Nintendo, though? Frankly, I have no idea how many waves of the Majora New 3DS they intend to put out. Hell, for all I know they might intend to put out two or three shipments and then never make them again, and if that happened you just know they'd all be gobbled up by scalpers, meaning everyone who wanted to buy one legitimately, including myself, is just shit out of luck for this special edition handheld. It's like Ethan said: Nintendo sucks at keeping up with demand, which both encourages scalpers and punishes their fanbase.
  11. Scalpers. Fucking scalpers. I can't even sign up for a mailing list to be notified of the Majora 3DS on Amazon because all the units are being monopolized by scalpers! The fucking thing isn't even out yet! I tried to preorder one almost a month in advance and there literally isn't a single store within a hundred miles of me that's getting any more! None! I'M TRYING TO PLAY BY THE RULES HERE. GOD DAMN IT.
  12. Mighty Ethan...Mighty starts with "M" and Ethan starts with "Eth..." If you put those together you get meth! Meth is a drug...drugs are poison...cyanide is also poison! Cyanide...cyanide...sayonara...Sayonara is the japanese word for goodbye! Japan...Land of the rising sun...Sun...Son... Son of Sam? Oh my god! It was so obvious all along! ETHAN IS A SERIAL KILLER.
  13. I don't know what you really mean by "battery stats" but I'm using this one. And no, I'm not rooted.
  14. Well, glad that's all cleared up. Now I just have to wait until the Majora editions start showing up again. I'm sure they'll be back in stock soon. Any day now...
  15. I'm not much of an SNL fan anymore but sometimes they've still got it.
  16. That's another thing. How exactly would I upgrade the SD card in a 3DS? I bought a 32 GB for when I eventually manage to get my hands on the New 3DS, but there's a part of me that's deathly afraid that when I try to upgrade the card I'll lose all my saves and downloads forever because of some Nintendo bullshit I wasn't aware of. Take Animal Crossing for example. I have a lot of time invested in my town. If I do the system transfer before changing SD cards, how can I be sure my town won't be wiped? What's the process?
  17. What if you put a high capacity SD card in the new one before starting it up for the first time? Does that still count as no other cards being used? Fuck, I can't believe I even have to ask questions like this.
  18. I never use bluetooth or wifi, even at home. I have a tablet so there's no need. Hell, I don't even use the location services unless I need a GPS, which is almost never. I also make a habit of routinely killing any background apps I haven't been using for a while, so I rarely have more going on in the background besides Tapatalk, Chrome, and Steam.
  19. I'm pretty sure it's the battery now. I managed to charge it to 100% last night, then I took it with me this morning to drop my car off at the mechanic (AGAIN) and after just an hour it's down to 50%. This is supposed to be a high capacity battery too so that's just inexcusable.
  20. You can trade gems at the antique store for SP items, but I'm not sure that's all that reliable. Later on in the game you can also get skills or items that will regenerate SP for you, so just hold on a bit longer. If you're exploiting weaknesses properly you should still be able to get a good amount of distance before you have to head back to 1F and someone leaves. If you're really getting low, I would recommend just skipping as many fights as you can and make a beeline straight for the boss floor just so you'll have that progress. You can always go back down on another day to grind or look for treasure. I don't believe characters get tired from the dungeons in P4, so you can stay in there for as long as you want. I think you can buy SP items from the store in P4G, but I wouldn't advise it. They're really expensive and the money is better used for other things. Like I said above, just exploit weaknesses like you're supposed to be doing anyway and you should still be able to get a pretty decent number of floors in before you have to turn back. Also, shuffle time has cards that will restore SP for you after fights, and if you're playing it right you should be getting shuffle time fairly often.
  21. I plugged in my phone earlier because it was at 18% battery. The charging light came on and the notification said it was charging, but when I checked on it 5 hours later it was at 12%. The battery isn't that old so I'm wondering if there might be some other reason it isn't charging properly?
  22. See, to me that just reads like an excuse for not bothering to think up anything better. These aren't grand, sprawling vistas we're exploring here. They're narrow corridors. I'm betting the entire series is narrow corridors. The dungeons themselves are not interesting, so I have little reason to bother mapping it out 100% if the game won't even acknowledge I did it. It doesn't even have to be an item like in PQ. Millennium Girl just enables the warping once you finish mapping a floor, which is good enough, but if the game doesn't care that I finished a map, why should I? I will concede two of your points though. Firstly, the characters in PQ are definitely caricatures of their normal selves. Still, there's a mystery at the story's core that makes me curious. It might turn out to be dogshit, but at least for now I want to see where it's going. I also agree that having to physically walk on every tile, even the trap ones, to get 100% is total horseshit. If I draw it right, that should be good enough. Oh, I forgot one other thing that bothered me. No run button? In an RPG? Come on.
