  1. Hey, this is kind of unrelated but I have some swamp land I'd like to sell to you.
  2. Ugh, I just read a statement from the woman playing Susan Storm in the Fantastic Four reboot where she says that she was going to read the comics for research but the director told her it wasn't necessary because the movie isn't based on the comics or the the history of the Fantastic Four. So now we have a comic movie that's not based on a comic. I thought the whole point behind rebooting Fantastic Four was to make one that didn't suck?
  3. I don't think I've ever loved Weird Al as much as I do right now.
  4. Toon Link is back too? Son of a bitch.
  5. I was just using her as an example. I'm fine with Lucina and I'd probably be okay with Marth by himself, but both of them? I don't want another Fox/Wolf/Falco deal.
  6. I'm honestly a little tired of Marth. Lucina practically IS Marth so I would have preferred some other Fire Emblem character like Tharja or something.
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LNwrv--DmU God damn it GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
  8. Is there a way to turn it off?
  9. Early 90s style VHS tape of tips and tricks for Shovel Knight. Naturally, this spoils the game a bit so if you care about that then don't watch it, I guess.
  10. Is anyone suddenly finding that clicking on any links inside a steam message brings up a warning about external sites? Is there a way to turn that off? I think I'm smart enough to know when a link goes outside of steam, thank you very much.
  11. Yeesh. You know, I wanted to just accept the excuse that Jon left because he wanted to focus on his own channel, but ever since he left there's been this cloud of ambiguity and shadiness hanging over the whole thing that makes it hard for me to keep believing that there wasn't something else going on behind the scenes.
  12. We actually have an anime thread right here. .
  13. Huh, I never knew that about DecapAttack. I find it interesting that back then they went to that much trouble to modify some obscure Japanese game for western audiences whereas today it feels like you practically have to drag these developers to work kicking and screaming just to get a text translation on a JRPG. Whoa, what? This is the first I've heard anything about this. What's going on? Also, I have to agree about Danny. I like him and I enjoy his stories and his jokes, but he never seems willing to call Arin out on his bullshit the way Jon used to. Even if I disagreed with Jon sometimes, I just liked the fact that he was a counterbalance to Arin's frequently senseless opinions.
  14. I tried to play Phantom Hourglass once but the terrible controls and that one repeating dungeon just killed all of my enjoyment.
  15. I try not to gripe too much about how Dan and Arin play games and comment on them, but has anyone been watching their recent Genesis playthroughs? They're...not great. They seem to really hate DecapAttack but have yet to give a single actual reason for it. It's not so much that I have a personal attachment to the game because I don't, but when they constantly say a game is shit but have no actual argument to support that statement it just makes them sound like a couple of lame AVGN knockoffs. The Toejam and Earl one-off actually pissed me off though. That game I DO have a personal attachment to, but the fact they didn't like it isn't what bothered me. What bothers me is that they didn't even try to play the game properly. TJ&E is a great co-op game, and if they'd actually bothered to OPEN A SINGLE FUCKING PRESENT they might have kept playing it. I have been wanting them to play that game for ages because I thought it had the potential to be the best co-op playthrough since Goof Troop, and they completely fucked it up. Ugh. The Grumps just seem to just arbitrarily hate the Genesis sometimes and it's really annoying.
  16. All that happened in only ten minutes?!
  17. The DLC for Destiny will also apparently be a timed exclusive for a whole year on Sony platforms.
  18. I'm on a pretty big Zelda kick recently so I started A Link Between Worlds earlier today after finishing Skyward Sword and Wind Waker. I'm only one dungeon in so far but I can tell I'm going to like this one a lot. It feels weird to not get key items in dungeons anymore, though. I actually spent much longer in the dungeon than I needed to because I thought I had missed a chest somewhere. I'm sure I'll get used to it in time. I'm starting to remember why I used to love these games so much. I might even replay Twilight Princess later if I still have it lying around somewhere.
  19. I felt betrayed by King of Fighters XII. I'm a big KOF fan and those games are pretty niche so I like to think I'm supporting the franchise when I buy those games. In return for my loyalty I expect a certain degree of effort. But KOF XII was so lazy it was insulting. There were barely any characters, there was no story mode, and arcade mode was five matches long and didn't even have a boss. Are you fucking kidding me? I paid full price for this? The online play didn't even work right and it was bare bones even when it did work. It was years before I bought KOF XIII, and that was only because it was ten bucks on steam.
  20. I consider that time saver stuff to be a microtransaction, not DLC. I know for some people it's the same thing, but I believe that downloadable content should actually have, you know, content. I can't even remember the last DLC I bought that i thought expanded the game in any meaningful way. I guess maybe the Civ V expansions, but I don't even really consider those DLC the way most people are defining it these days. Those are proper expansion packs.
  21. I finished Wind Waker for the first time, specifically the HD version on the Wii U. It's definitely an improvement over the Gamecube one, but I think I'd still rank this as my least favorite 3D Zelda game. The swift sail was appreciated but sailing still sucks and serves no real purpose except to give the illusion of an open world and probably mask loading times. I was still enjoying the rest of the game for a while, though, and after the third or fourth dungeon I started thinking that maybe Wind Waker would climb up a few ranks on my list. Then came the Triforce shards. Good god, the Triforce shard quest is the worst thing to happen to Zelda since the CD-i. Nintendo did try to make it less tedious by cutting down the number of shards from 12 to 8 and replacing several charts in treasure chests with actual Triforce pieces, but even with those concessions it's still a boring, monotonous, completely unnecessary grind that would have been better off being dropped from the game completely and replaced with something else. Where previously I had been having a lot of fun, now I was just groaning and waiting for it to be over with. It's padding of the absolute worst kind that drags the game down for the sake of making it longer. At least the final boss fight was decent, even if the ending kind of sucked.
  22. Regarding the final choice...
