It's Adventure time, baby!

Does anyone know what the best app for getting a taxi or van is? I'm going to need one when my car is in the shop. I'd prefer one that lets me pay the fare from my phone, too.

I'm just surprised it took this long for Phil Fish to get doxxed.

I'm super tempted by the Shadowgate remake on steam. I swear, all these Kickstarter games are going to put me in the poor house.
-
I saw a teaser for this a long time ago but forgot all about it. I hope it's good. It's been a while since I've seen a good sci-fi movie that wasn't based off a license.

The monsters in the console version clearly aren't prepared for an enemy who can ROOOOOLL.

To my recollection, It sounds about the same as the PC version does, or at least how it was at launch Music never seems to be a big priority in games like these. As for me, Diablo III is the game I'm playing right now too, and holy shit it is way more fun than it was when I played it on the PC 2 years ago. All those patches did it some real good. Being able to move with a stick as opposed to clicking everywhere is just flat out better, too.

I don't feel like I know the whole story just yet, but one thing that has been confirmed for me yet again is the fact that Phil Fish is a douchey little twat.

Has anyone played as a crusader since the expansion came out? I'm trying to figure out if the game calculates damage for the smite skill based on your weapon, your strength, your intelligence, or something else, but I can't seem to find a clear answer on this. Also, everyone gets their own loot, right? I've been picking up pretty much everything I see but I want to be sure I'm not depriving other people by doing this.

While I'm sure nobody will agree with me, I think this is a case where the console version is actually superior to the PC version. No online requirement, local co-op, direct control over character movement, a console-only dodge mechanic, and an exclusive Last of Us dungeon make the PS4 port the version to beat for me. Oh yeah, and every item takes up the same amount of inventory space in this version, so there's none of that constant rearranging to make things fit.

I don't know whose idea it was to make a playable teaser for a game in the first place but that person is a genius. This whole thing with P.T. is spreading like wildfire all over the internet, and I'm sure it probably would have been forgotten in a day or two if it had just been a two minute trailer.

Speaking of women, can we stop injecting romance into movies that don't need it? Especially action movies? I don't give a shit about Thor's girlfriend.

Why DID it have Spawn? I mean, they weren't afraid to put a Spartan in Dead or Alive.

What do you guys think about console exclusive bonuses that actually couldn't be done on other platforms? I know that the whole "extra 60 minutes of gameplay" is pretty much universally reviled because it's cheap and unnecessary, but what about things like Kratos in Mortal Kombat or the extra Last of Us dungeon and Shadow of the Colossus items in the PS4 port of Diablo III? Those things literally couldn't be in any other version, but does that make it any more acceptable to you?

I'm all for encouraging people to get a ps4 but you know you can poop yourself without spending 400 dollars, right?

Splitting the last movie in a trilogy or franchise up into two parts. God, I HATE this one, especially since part one is always full of filler bullshit. I also consider The Hobbit to be one movie split up into three parts because there was no good excuse to make a 300 page book into a huge trilogy. They're just milking it.

What are those little things movies are always doing that annoy the crap out of you? It can be related to the writing, the directing, the casting, costumes, camerawork, special effects, or even the marketing. If you have TV pet peeves you can put those here too.

I don't think robots taking jobs will be as big of a problem as transitioning to a society that guarantees each citizen enough money to live at least somewhat comfortably. For pretty much all of human history we've believed in the value of working to support yourself and your family, but when the jobs are all being done by robots we're going to have to change our way of thinking. It isn't realistic to expect everyone to work when there is no work. You can't have it both ways.

Speaking of hashtags, I don't like this whole "fat acceptance movement," which has recently been coming back with the #fatkini hashtag. I'm not saying that overweight people deserve to be mocked or that they're inherently unattractive, but being fat isn't a good thing, okay? It's unhealthy and it shouldn't be encouraged, let alone rewarded. That's how we get childhood obesity. This dude's face pretty much sums it up:

A while ago I checked the Amazon app store for Hearthstone on a whim. It wasn't there, but I still felt like playing a card game and I eventually ended up with this: For a licensed game it's actually pretty cool. Despite what Jake says, it's easy to learn the rules of the game and it has both single player and online tournaments for prizes. You can also craft uncommon or rare cards out of common cards, which is a nice feature. It does have microtransactions, but they aren't shoved down your throat like in Dungeon Keeper. The prices for gems are much more reasonable than in other games, but you still don't have to use them if you don't want to. The game does have an energy meter, but it refills when you beat new missions and it doesn't take long to recharge anyway. The only thing you would ever really need gems for is to expand your inventory slots (you start with 50) and buy rare cards from the algebraic chest. On top of that, you get a free gem whenever you complete all three missions for a stage. Usually I can't stand microtransactions, but I'm having fun with this game and it isn't asking for too much so I might spend 5 bucks at some point to get six gems (which is enough for 2 rare cards or 20 inventory slots).

I remember that song being in the Scott Pilgrim movie, but it was a different version. I don't know which one, if either, is the original. As far as what I'M listening to... I have no intention of seeing the new TMNT movie but I heard it had a rap in it and I was curious. The Turtle Power song and that Vanilla Ice thing from back in the day were pretty corny and I wouldn't really call them good songs, but they were still kind of charming in a silly way. This is just bad, though. On top of not being catchy or memorable, it isn't really a "fun" song. It feels like it's trying too hard to be legit.

When you click on a link to read an article or some kind of social media post and right when you're about to start reading that obnoxious pop-up appears and blocks your view of the page while it asks you to sign up for an account. Fuck off! I already gave your page a hit!

I just looked it up. Assassin's Creed II had 450 people working on it. I don't claim to know how game development works, but did they REALLY need that many people?

I don't even think the whole AAA issue is as much a budget problem as it is a wasteful spending problem. I mean, Tomb Raider sold 3.4 million units in less than a month and was STILL a failure? I can't possibly imagine how that game, as good as it is, should be so expensive to develop that those numbers still don't recoup the costs. They weren't exactly making Grand Theft Auto. Also, didn't one of the Assassin's Creed games, if not several of them, have a team of like 300 people or somewhere around that number?
