  1. I finished Wind Waker for the first time, specifically the HD version on the Wii U. It's definitely an improvement over the Gamecube one, but I think I'd still rank this as my least favorite 3D Zelda game. The swift sail was appreciated but sailing still sucks and serves no real purpose except to give the illusion of an open world and probably mask loading times. I was still enjoying the rest of the game for a while, though, and after the third or fourth dungeon I started thinking that maybe Wind Waker would climb up a few ranks on my list. Then came the Triforce shards. Good god, the Triforce shard quest is the worst thing to happen to Zelda since the CD-i. Nintendo did try to make it less tedious by cutting down the number of shards from 12 to 8 and replacing several charts in treasure chests with actual Triforce pieces, but even with those concessions it's still a boring, monotonous, completely unnecessary grind that would have been better off being dropped from the game completely and replaced with something else. Where previously I had been having a lot of fun, now I was just groaning and waiting for it to be over with. It's padding of the absolute worst kind that drags the game down for the sake of making it longer. At least the final boss fight was decent, even if the ending kind of sucked.
  2. Regarding the final choice...
  3. I think anyone with a steam account has a horrendous backlog. As for getting through it... I'll let you know as soon as I figure that out. I own almost 400 steam games but lately I only play indies on my PC.
  4. Does anyone here have CurtisBret as their PSN name?

  5. I finished episode 5 earlier, then went back through it to get the last few trophies I needed for the platinum. This was a great series, and I'd put it up there with Walking Dead season 1 as Telltale's best work. I don't know if they plan to make a second season, but I'd love to see more of these characters. I just love the complex setting and the shades of grey permeating throughout the story. I also am curious about something for those of you who finished the series...
  6. I've been using the free trial version of an app called Ultimate Rotation Control on my tablet recently that I think is pretty handy. It isn't completely free like some other apps that control your device's rotation, but what sets it apart is the ability to set rotation controls per app rather than forcing the entire device into one mode. You can even force apps into a mode they usually doesn't even support if you want, but be warned that this doesn't work for everything. You do have to buy a license for 2.99 after 7 days, but I'm pretty happy with it. If you've been wanting a good way to control your device's orientation it couldn't hurt to try it for a week and see if you like it.
  7. Did any kids ever actually catch Carmen? Those flagpoles weighed a ton.
  8. What's the best board game to get someone who hasn't really played much more than Monopoly? I got a friend who just bought a house with like 50 closets and his birthday is next month and I thought I might get him one to help him start a board game closet. To clarify, he doesn't play them rarely because he doesn't like them, but because he just never really owned many of them before. I thought Risk might be nice but I'm not especially famliar with that game myself so I don't know if it's too complicated. I just don't want to get him something too simple either.
  9. Civilization V. I don't even have to explain myself because anyone who has played Civ knows exactly what I'm talking about.
  10. I have this friend who is a nice guy but his taste in movies is fucking SHIT. When he told me recently that Transformers 4 is "actually pretty good" a part of me wanted to choke him for being part of the problem.
  11. Okay, that's one thing we really ought to be able to compromise on and yet we don't because the tea party thinks compromise is a four letter word.
  12. When I watch a youtube video and at the end one of the related videos has a thumbnail that's full of gore or an oozing tumor or some other disgusting shit like that. I don't want to see that, god damn it! I wasn't even watching anything gross or violent in the first place!
  13. Seeing that I bought a Wii U after I saw that Zelda trailer, I'm pretty sure the answer for me is Zelda 2015 by default.
  14. Hm, well it's not exactly the way I had it but it's close enough. Thanks for the info.
  15. Are gun shows without background checks still a thing? I know that was an issue for a while but I never heard how that ended up.
  16. Is there a way to set up Nova to launch certain apps when you double press the home key?
  17. I did, and there was a big green check mark on the corner of the screen I usually use as my home screen, which I assume is supposed to mean it's my default and yet somehow it isn't. If that's not it though, then I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to look at. I didn't do a whole lot of fiddling around with Nova outside of adding extra rows so I'm not exactly an expert at configuring it.
  18. I'm a dirty commie socialist liberal freedom hatin' terrorist.
  19. It used to work that way for me too but it doesn't do the latter anymore.
  20. Great, I just noticed another problem. The home key doesn't take me to the home screen anymore. Oh, it'll take me out of whatever app I'm using and put me back onto the "desktop" or whatever you call it on a phone, but it no longer takes me back to my actual home screen where I keep all my most commonly used apps like Google and steam and my email. This was never an issue before the update, but I am using the Nova launcher so part of me is wondering if perhaps the new Samsung update created some kind of compatibility problem with Nova, which hasn't been updated for a while.
  21. Jaguar was a pretty good fight in my opinion. I actually had less trouble with him on hard because by then I had more experience with the game's nuances.
  22. I've moved from Skyward Sword to Wind Waker HD and I have a personal request for the developers of Zelda. Can we ditch the compass from now on? It's completely pointless. Skyward combined the map and compass into one item, which was much better because honestly, who has ever been excited about finding the compass? It just feels like filler to make the dungeon longer. I might even debate the need for the dungeon map, but that's probably not going anywhere so at least let the compass stay gone. I haven't played Link Between Worlds yet so I don't know if the compass was in that game or not, but hopefully they thought better of it.
  23. I believe it was Churchill who said the quickest way to kill your belief in democracy was to have a five minute conversation with the average voter.
  24. I already had kitkat. This is something AT&T Samsung did, not Google.
  25. See, as much as he hates Skyward Sword, it actually DID do something to provide enemies that were more than just "wait until they're vulnerable." Usually you had to hit them from an angle where their guard wasn't up or strike them in such a way that made them vulnerable to a follow-up attack. I thought that was pretty cool but clearly he didn't. People complain about the controls in Skyward Sword, but my personal experience with them really wasn't all that bad.
