That seems a bit low. The game would have to be dirt cheap to begin with to even get at that price. Strike Suit Zero is a 20$ game. But yeah, even at 3$ it had to be more than random curiosity. I've actually wanted to try it for a while. And from what I understand, Infinity is more of an arcade survival mode whereas Zero has a proper campaign with a story.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

Damn, that's awesome. The side-scrolling bit had me interested because I was a huge fan of the arcade game on NES, but if there's a full-blown story mode on top of that, then yeah, I'm gonna have to get this. -
Currently on flash sale for 3$. That's very much in my "fuck it, I'm curious" price range. I was hoping to also get Retro City Rampage for 3$ but it didn't win the community vote because people are idiots. I'm also tempted to grab Anodyne from GMG. They're having a big indie sale and it's currently 66% off, which makes it cheaper than it currently is on Steam (or even the Humble store). I'm still waiting to see if Steam gives it a daily or flash (in case it's better) but as the sale nears its end, it's starting to look kind of unlikely. Alternatively, I could just use my GMG store credit and get it for less than a dollar. Less than a dollar is a good price.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

Yeah, I'd only seen the gameplay videos from this thread and I just assumed it was a AAA release. So, if I'm getting this right: the 3D combat is a survival mode kinda deal and the actual meat of the game is a side-scrolling brawler in the style of the old arcade games? The trailers I've seen seemed to focus on the 3D side of it so that's why it didn't occur to me that this might be a smaller game. That last video you posted is the first I hear of the side-scrolling part. -
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

So, I randomly found out that this is actually a downloadable game and not a 60$ retail release? If so, my interest in this just skyrocketed. It looks good but not 60$ good. But around 15$? Yeah, I'll bite. -
Gunpoint. Awesome little game. It's sadly very short but at least it offers a decent challenge, I think. Some of the missions actually made me think a bit and the last one had me stumped yesterday. I only managed to beat it just now and it took a fair amount of trial and error. There's a tiny bit of replay value in that there's a couple of branching paths when choosing your missions, but it's otherwise kinda light on content. There's a level editor but I have no idea how active the community is for it. I really wish the campaign had been a few hours longer.

Dust: An Elysian Tail. Wow, that was pretty fucking good. Probably my best purchase of the entire summer sale. I expected it to be kinda short but it has a solid 10-12 hours story. Took me more like 20, though, because I wasted so much time backtracking every single time I got a new ability, looking for treasures and secrets I couldn't reach before. The game looks amazing, too. The big character sprites that show up during conversations are kind of ugly but the level backgrounds and enemy designs are beautiful.

Yes. Soda is terrible for you. edit: Seriously, though. I got the game only but now I kinda want to upgrade to at least the special edition. According to his website, Steam should offer the option. But I'm not seeing it.

Steam. I keep buying them too fast and only think to check humble store after the fact. Force of habit.

Yay! Was so bummed when it didn't win community choice. I knew it would be back but I wanted to be playing it already! Oh and grabbed this last night right before going to bed. Was curious and figured it should be worth the 3$ if only because lol. Ended up costing me only around 60 cents, too. I keep forgetting that Steam wallet always gets selected by default and I had a little under 3$ in it from selling cards. Was planning on using that money to get some cards I was missing but oh well.

Mark of the Ninja is fantastic. Even at full price, it's worth every penny. Now if they'd just release the DLC already! I'm itching for another playthrough but I want to play it with the new style that adds non-lethal takedowns.
-
Went for it. Hopefully I won't regret it.

Does the Humble store just take a smaller cut than Steam does or no cut at all?
-
Think they already did http://www.reusgame.com/buy/ I'm still on the fence about this one. Looks cool but I kinda wish there was a demo. Gonna have to read about it a bit more or watch some gameplay.

Grabbed Poker Night 2 last night. I've been looking for a game I can play late at night when I want to game but not really have to worry about progress or how long I'll be playing. More often than not, I'll just end up not playing anything because starting a new level, mission or whatever seems like too much of a time investment when it's already 2 AM. I enjoyed the first one enough so this seemed like a good choice. As for Dust, my shopping list is mostly smaller indie games this year and it was near the top. Just played the first two hours and holy fuck it's amazing. Really glad I went for it.

Sleeping Dogs: Nightmare in North Point DLC. Eh, it's alright, I guess. Starts out pretty fun but the combat against the new enemies gets old real fast. By the time I made it to the end, I was thankful for it to be over. The story isn't that great either. Oh and the final boss fight is just a succession of three shitty fights you have to go through, twice. Might be worth a buck or two if you're aching for more Sleeping Dogs but otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it.

I can think of a few instances where I wanted to go back and replay an episode to do it differently. Then reading online I found out that no matter what choice you made the result was pretty much the same. Maybe some small details vary, but it's never anything major as far as I'm aware.
-
Ah, considering how little your choices actually mattered in the first season, if that's the case then I don't expect them to be more than side characters. Unless they're making season 2 less linear story-wise, I guess. That would be a nice improvement.

The Walking Dead: 400 Days. It's more of the same so I can't really complain. Some of the chapters were a bit short but it says a lot about the quality of the writing that they still managed to make me care about the characters. Anyone knows if these guys supposed to be random people or the actual cast of season 2?

Well, two days in and so far I've only spent 5 bucks. My budget is kinda limited this time so I'm being a bit more selective. I've also been debating getting Don't Starve since yesterday. I really want to give it a shot but I have no idea how much I'd actually enjoy it. I was really hoping for a better deal on that one. Around 5$ would've been that sweet spot where it would've been an instant buy. edit: Ended up going for it. Just played for about an hour and this game is fucking awesome. I don't know how long I'll keep playing because I can see myself eventually getting sick of going through the early "tech level" over and over again, but at least for now I'm having a blast with it. After Mark of the Ninja, this and the newly announced Incognita that looks to be right up my alley, Klei are quickly becoming my favorite indie studio.

Thief II: The Metal Age. Holy shit. I remembered liking it more than the first one (mostly because the first one insisted on putting undeads everywhere and that got old pretty fast) but man, this game just might be the greatest stealth game ever made. The gameplay is largely the same, which is pretty fucking good to begin with, but there are some seriously amazing missions in this one. They really went out of their way to make them as varied as possible without ever detracting from the game's core concept of pure stealth. Man, now I'm all nervous about the new one. :/ I don't except it to really be the same or anywhere near as "hardcore" stealth, but I really hope we at least get something comparable to what DXHR was to the original DX. Anyway, don't think I'll be playing Deadly Shadows right away. I kinda started losing steam in the last few hours of T2 so I think it's time to mix things up with something different.

Serious Sam 3: BFE. I played through 85-90% of the campaign when I first bought it (like... two holiday sales ago? so early 2012, I guess) but got stuck and stopped playing. So it's been sitting there unfinished for quite a while and was kinda bugging me. I'd been running a bunch of games the past few days, to get the steam card drops and sell them on the marketplace, and when I got to this one I figured I might as well play (I would usually just start the games, minimize them and do something else). Anyway, that last level was fucking INSANE. Once I got unstuck, it was pretty damn fun to play this again. Got kinda lucky, too. I guess I lost my saves at some point? Not sure how, but at least my campaign progress was saved to the cloud I guess, so I was able to pick up from the beginning of the level I was on. The game didn't register it as completed (didn't get the achievement for completing the campaign) but whatever. Fuck you, game. I beat you.

Del Toro is indeed fantastic but he can't be given all the credit here. He co-wrote this with another guy called Travis Beacham. I read the comic book prequel written by Beacham a couple days ago and, according to the foreword, he's the one that came up with the main idea and wrote the original treatment. Del Toro only came on board afterwards when he was meeting with Legendary about doing a movie with them.

I tend to get kinda stressed out in RTS games, so for me frantic might as well mean difficult. Anyway, beat Thief: The Dark Project. Well, technically Thief Gold, but that's a stupid name so whatever. Like I said in the currently playing thread, I initially just fired it up not really intending to finish it. I was bored and figured I'd do a mission or two and that would be that. But it just sucked me right back in pretty much instantly. It's been something like 10 years since I first played it and man, they just don't make games like this anymore. The graphics are blocky and dated as fuck and that kinda makes the later levels significantly less creepy than they used to be. But goddamn the gameplay is as tight as ever. It really puts most recent stealth games to shame, Mark of the Ninja being the rare exception. Overall, it was really nice to replay it and still feel like it's one of my top games ever. Definitely playing The Metal Age next.

So, this is a pretty damn badass theme.
