  1. An imdb entry is hardly ever official confirmation of anything. And that second article is 8 months old. If you've been following Justice League movie news, their "plans" seem to change and/or get scrapped every other month. So yeah, not really holding my breath on this one.
  2. I'm assuming you mean post-launch? So, pretend to turn it off now to sell more units at launch, then turn it back on later? That would just be begging for some massive class-action lawsuit, no?
  3. This is great news but the part of me that was looking forward to seeing them crash and burn is a bit sad. But I guess even Microsoft aren't delusional enough to ignore such a giant shitstorm of negative feedback. I really hope no one buys into their "See, your opinion matters to us!" angle, though. Because that is complete fucking bullshit. The only reason they're backtracking here is because they realized they couldn't get away with this. If they thought for one second that they could still succeed despite everything, then you can bet your ass that they would've gone through with it regardless of consumer opinion. If there's one thing to take away from this is that Microsoft don't give a shit about their customers. That much became clear over the course of the current gen but this whole thing pretty much cemented it.
  4. Yeah, there's no way we'd be hearing about it this quickly if it had anything to do with the Xbox One. This is most likely as a result of what Dean mentioned. This would be a really cool feature to have. Looking forward to a more official unveiling and getting more details about how it would actually work.

Isn't the PS3/Vita version coming out this "spring"? Isn't there only two more days of spring?!?!?!?!?!

  5. Went to see Man of Steel last night. Holy shit that was good. It has its issues but I fucking loved it. To chime in with what was said higher, I'd say it's definitely worth seeing in theaters. It's the best damn Superman movie that's ever been made. I realize that's not saying much but to use a comparison, I thought it was close to, but not quite as good as, Batman Begins. Nah, I don't think that was ever the plan. At this point, DC pretty much have no plan, as far as I can tell. They might try to make this one the first pillar of building something but there's absolutely no hint of that in the movie. The funny thing is, I felt that the Nolan's Bat trilogy wouldn't fit with a Justice League universe because of how realistic its interpretation of everything is. But I don't know if it was because of the visual style and execution of Man of Steel or what but at some point during the first half I kinda went "Yeah, no, this could work. As long as this is happening after the Bat trilogy". The Dark Knight Rises' 8 years time skip kinda fucks up that possibility, though. Ugh, this movie just never stops disappointing me. Even a year later...
  6. Yeah, I see what you mean. I didn't mind Nero while I was playing as him but it was kinda weird. When I realized that I wasn't collecting any new weapons, I thought that kinda sucked. But the Devil Bringer arm was kind of really useful in combat so I figured that was the trade-off. And then when I switched to Dante I actually missed the Devil Bringer at first. But once I started playing with Dante's different fighting styles from DMC3 and got back into the old style of play, I started really having fun and realized just how boring playing as Nero actually was. Like I said, I enjoyed the game. But I can see why it killed the series and they felt the need to reboot.
  7. Devil May Cry 4. Guess I was more than halfway through when I mentioned it in the currently playing thread cause I finished it like 20mins ago. Overall, I enjoyed it. Like I said, it feels really dated when compared to more recent games. But I was really into the series back in the day (Dante's Awakening is probably in my top 10 games ever), so I didn't mind. Dante's missions are the best part of the game but they feel oddly superfluous. Like they were originally going to make the game only about Nero and someone stepped in and made them give Dante a bigger role. As Dante, all you really do is go back through the same levels, only this time backwards, refight the same bosses that Nero didn't finish off and collect their weapons and just make it back to the beginning of the game for the final boss fight. What feels weird is that throughout the game Nero hasn't been collecting any new weapons but here you collect an entire game's worth of weapons in only about half a dozen missions. It basically all boils down to a fetch quest that feels like padding and fan service rather than a necessary part of the story. But hey, you get to play as Dante, so whatever! Now I really need to play the reboot.
  8. Been playing Devil May Cry 4. I was a pretty huge DMC fan back in the PS2 days but this one came out a couple months before I got my PS3 and I never got around to getting it, for some reason. I figure I'm about halfway through, now. Control just switched to Dante. The gameplay is kind of archaic in a lot of ways and it kinda feels like a prettier PS2 game, for the most part. It really doesn't compare to a more modern title like Bayonetta. But I'm enjoying it a lot so far. Feels kinda nostalgic, I guess. Other than that, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be finishing Nier. Haven't touched it in over two weeks and I have no desire of getting back to it. I'm afraid I really don't get what you guys see in it that's so special. The game does a lot of really interesting stuff but I just really wasn't having any fun playing it. I had been doing a dungeon and ended up running out of items and got stuck on a fight and just went fuck it and quit. Then at some point I realized I had no desire of restarting the dungeon from the beginning.
  9. Ha, no. I didn't do both the same day. Made a post about beating AW a couple days before AN. I played AN in a single sitting but I spent like a week going through AW and getting all the achievements I was missing.
  10. Oh, that's possible. I haven't seen enough footage to notice if there's any difference between the different enemy types.
  11. Yeah, this is the main problem with going prequel. They can't really remove all the gameplay improvements AC brought to the table, so there's going to be some consistency issues. Also, I was kind of disappointed to find out that a big chunk of the game world is the same area as Arkham City, just before it went to shit (like, that flooded section won't be flooded and so on). The counters no longer being an attack is the weirdest thing I've heard so far, though. I thought the combat flow seemed weird in footage I was watching the other day, I guess that was the reason. I don't mind the combat requiring a higher skill-level (at least I assume the extra action needed will make it a bit harder) as long as it doesn't break the flow of it. Things just work so well as it is now, it's always dangerous to try and fix what isn't broken.
  12. After replaying Alan Wake on nightmare I obviously had to follow that with Alan Wake's American Nightmare... on nightmare. Anyway, enough with revisiting favorites for now. I really need to start scratching titles off my backlog.
  13. Was it secret? Like, at all? I could be forgetting something but if not, then
  14. Either way, they're pretty late in adding them so I doubt they have any.
  15. It will be eventually. But as of right now the PC version is unannounced.
  16. You know, I don't subscribe to the notion that open-worlds are inherently better. There have been many games I found tedious because they had open-worlds. But a while back someone (can't recall if it was here) said an hypothetical Mirror's Edge 2 should be open-world and my first instinct was to disagree. But then I thought about it a bit and realized that an open-world Mirror's Edge could actually be fucking amazing. So, for once, I'm actually glad to hear those words.
  17. Don't most projects only add stretch goals later on, though?
  18. So, this was inevitably going to get funded, but things have slowed down considerably. Only two weeks left and it still hasn't broken one million. Wonder if it has anything to do with DF running a second campaign before their first game is released or simply because there's simply not as much interest in this kind of game? Probably a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B...
  19. Wut. Got an email from Paradox giving me a Steam code for War of the Roses: Kingmaker that I can use to "gift a copy to a trusted friend so that they may fight alongside me". I do not even own the game. Redeem the code: now I do. Thanks, I guess?

Yeah, I don't trust you on the battlefield, Wally. You're the Lannister to my... pretty much anyone else, I guess?

  20. Been replaying Alan Wake lately but now that I'm done with it, I'm not sure what I'll do next. I was thinking of maybe replaying Dishonored or Human Revolution. I played the first hour of Saints Row: The Third but I'm not sure if I'll keep playing it as I was getting pretty shitty framerates when out in the open-world. So that kinda sucks.
  21. Felt like replaying Alan Wake and I beat it on Nightmare earlier today. Was only a handful of collectibles from having all the achievements, so I spent a few more hours doing that tonight. Somehow, not as satisfying when you don't get a platinum trophy out of it. :/ Anyway, guess I'll do the same thing for the DLC episodes next.
  22. See? That's exactly what I'm talking about!
  23. Yeah, but that's like, I mean... no one everyone likes Ethan.
  24. Man, that game is looking so absolutely fucking terrible that I almost feel like it's intended to be a joke. Like some kind of ironic statement.
