Confident it'll be a quality game but a few things still nag at me. The new voices, while not necessarily bad voices per se, sound wrong. At least after having heard them so briefly. Also, I've been thinking about it lately and is there any reason other than brand awareness to call it an Arkham game? I mean, Arkham Asylum, yes. That's an important element of Batman lore. Arkham City is simply expanding on that same concept. But Arkham Origins? What the fuck does that even mean? We know very little of the plot so far but it doesn't sound like it will have anything to do with Arkham. edit: youtube embed was broken, copyright claim. updated it. edit2: Jesus fucking christ, another copyright claim? What the fuck is wrong with these companies? "Oh, no, more people will see our marketing. We cannot possibly allow this!" For fuck's sake... Updated it again, this time from what looks to be the official Arkham City channel. Yet I still fucking expect it to somehow go down again. Because, hey, why the fuck not.

Oh fuck yeah! Mirror's Edge 2!
-
That was Morrigan? Other dimension? Guess I need to play that last bit of DLC... Or not. Can't say I really care about Dragon Age anymore.
-
Wow the rumors were true... they've actually made a plants vs zombies shooter. What the fuck is wrong with EA?
-
I'm disappointed by how very little they've shown of "what we're getting instead of Alan Wake 2".

Yeah, that game looks boring as all hell. Wasn't it supposed to be a Kinect game at some point?

Game of Thrones (Current episode spoilers)
toxicitizen replied to Can's topic in Entertainment Exchange
So, I normally wait for the season to end before I start watching but all this talk about how big a deal last week's episode was made me really curious. Watched most of the season today and finished watching episode 9 not long ago. Holy. Fucking. Shit. -
I tried to like IW a few times but the game sure tries its hardest to ensure that doesn't happen. Universal ammo? Sure, stupid, but I can overlook it. Ridiculously small hubs? Eh, harder to ignore but it was a limitation of the tech of the time. But what really killed it for me, and this might be a problem with newer OSes or maybe just the PC version, but to have the game minimize to desktop every fucking time a new area loads? Yeah, you just killed my immersion dead. Also, you know, the quests were boring, the story meh (at least as far as I got into the game), and overall it just wasn't as much fun or satisfying. It's still on "the list", though. I keep telling myself I have to get back to it one day.

I doubt it. He's said it before that he's not really interested in the series anymore, I think. And didn't he also recently complain about violence in games or something to that effect? (edit: yep ) Besides, once I found out that he was also involved in Invisible War, I realized that he probably had nothing to do directly with how great the original was. He can just keep on making Mickey Mouse games for all I care. Wait, didn't Disney close Junction Point? What is he even doing these days?

Exactly. Defiance was expected because, come on, April 1st. But this could've been much more. Even taking studio size into account, it could've been an outsourced sequel or even just a smaller, standalone thing, similar to what Ubisoft did with Blood Dragon. That was definitely a possibility. So yeah, it stings a bit.

Because, as you said, I enjoyed the game and am a massive fan of the series, so yeah, I want the ultimate version of it? Like I said, I think it's ridiculous to address the biggest complaints against the game and then shut out existing fans entirely. And it's not like I'm expecting it for free, either. I'd be willing to pay for a DLC upgrade or hell, I'd probably double dip if it was a completely new release. I'm as upset about this as I'd be about any other instance of needless exclusivity. Again, you must've missed the part where I said the game actually looks kind of okay and that I'd play it if it was ported to PC. It helps to fully read posts before you start arguing them.

4$ after 20% off on GMG. Been meaning to try them for a while and while the second one looks massively better, this one is on sale so... I'm about to run out of shit to do in Arkham City so this comes at just the right time.
-
So you just want a slightly improved version of a game you already have played and if you don't get it you're done?...are you retarded? Once again, the main studio is working on Thief. If you were expecting a full-on game then you only set yourself up for disappoint. At most I was expecting some hastily thrown together side-story developed by another team. Well, I guess this is that, but on an iPad. They're a big studio, you do realize a workforce can be divided into multiple teams, right? I'm not alone thinking it's idiotic that they're basically fixing their game two years later and, as far as they're saying right now, keeping the fixed version exclusive to a completely new platform (and a failing one at that), shutting out existing fans in the process. And after twice now teasing something new related to this series only to reveal: 1) a joke and 2) something completely underwhelming that basically no one wanted, then yeah, I feel like it's time they threw fans of the series a bone. Besides, there is such a thing as context. You must've missed the part of my post where I said "on a more rational note", implying that I wasn't 100% serious.

Goddamnit. After two trolls like this, they better end up fucking porting to PC the improved version of HR they're developing for Wii U. Otherwise I'm fucking done with these guys. There's a limit to how much cruelty I can just take without reacting. On a more rational note: looks kind of... okay? I'd probably play it if they ported to PC. But still.... WHY MUST THEY DO THIS TO US?!
-
Oh, it's real-time? Thought it was turn-based. I'd probably be terrible at it, then. :/ Anyway, played Deus Ex: Human Revolution - The Missing Link today. It's Deus Ex so it was pretty damn good. It was kinda weird to play it on its own, though, especially since it's been so long since I've played the main game. I'm still confused as to why it's a completely separate game on Steam, too. I'm pretty sure the console version is accessed from the main game's menu and the PC version has some DLC that works normally through Steam so it's kind of weird that this one is completely separate. Anyway, played it just in time as it seems we're getting a Deus Ex announcement this week.
-
Yeah, can't say I see the problem here...
-
Once again, they're teasing something Deus Ex-related. https://twitter.com/eidosmontreal/status/341537040107712512 And it seems some trademarks were registered for variants of "Deus Ex: The Fall" by Square Enix a little while back. Better not be anything other than a proper game this time. edit: Announcement coming wednesday, it seems.

You're a 4, at best, Wally. Sorry.

I'm drawing a blank here. What's this generation's best shooter again? But the thing is, the score itself is really meaningless. You need to read the review to understand the reasoning behind it. One man's 7 is another's man 8 and so on. This is especially important to take into account when someone draws some arbitrary quality cutoff line like Cowboy's 8.
-
Sometimes a 7 or even a 6 is more worthwhile and interesting than a generic 8+. You make it sound like you're unwilling to even consider trying a game that got more "average" scores just because there's a ton of uninspired shootfests out there that scored a 9. I'm sorry but that's beyond retarded. Case in point: if IGN's score for Remember Me ends up being the lowest with the average being around 7 (which, so far, looks like it might be the case), then you can bet your ass I'll be grabbing it once it hits a cheaper price point. It sounds like it has some really interesting elements, even if the gameplay itself is weak or average.
-
Sigh... and that kind of attitude is exactly why we have inflated scores in the first place. Seriously, anything below 7 is bad? What the hell? It's not like a numerical score alone means much... They might've had an exclusive? Or other outlets weren't in a hurry to review, maybe. Anyway, here's another one. Not quite as negative but still far from glowing.
-
IGN rated it as mediocre with a 5.9 http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/06/02/remember-me-review I'm still waiting for more reviews but so far I'm not too surprised. Oh well, too bad. If other reviews are slightly better, I might grab it when it's on sale for ~5$.
-
Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall. Was too busy with school when it first came out and then I kinda forgot about it until last night. Kinda short but the gameplay is as brilliant as ever. Looking forward to the next one.
-
Uh? Didn't he recently say he was staying for another season? Well that sucks. The current season was quite a weak note to leave on. :/ Especially considering how good the previous two were.
-
Yeah, having so much combat seems like an odd choice. It kinda tells me that they weren't entirely confident in their concept and didn't want to make it the game's entire focus. Stealth definitely seems like it would've been a better fit.
