  1. How does realistic aiming make the game easier? It's been a while so I don't really remember how the vanilla aiming is but going by the name I would've expected the opposite.
  2. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. It is every bit as amazing as I remembered it to be. That pleases me. Maybe I'll replay Conviction next. But I should probably finish the other games I've already started first. Yeah, that's probably a good idea. The Walking Dead seems like something I should probably prioritize.
  3. Not owning a 360, I've never played the original. So I was always kind of at a loss as to whether I should just get the first release or the Off The Record one. Thought it was kind of stupid that they didn't make Off The Record the definitive version and just allow you to choose between the two protagonists but I guess that's Capcom for you. Anyway, now it's all nicely bundled together for 10 bucks. That's good enough for me to bite.
  4. I know what you mean. My cousin was over last night and mentioned wanting to get Portal 1 and 2 soon. I told him about how they were currently on sale for 6 bucks and he said he'd get it as soon as he got home (he lives right downstairs). I bought it for him as soon as he walked out the door but he still managed to get home and buy it before getting the gift. He felt bad but I told him to just pass it along to his brother. Now at least he has a partner for co-op, I guess. But I'm not too sure what they could do, honestly. It already tells you if the person already owns the game when you choose from your friends list. Not much they can do about simultaneous gifting/purchasing, I think. At least you can send it to your inventory. :/
  5. I've wanted to try it for a while as I keep hearing about how great it's supposed to be. Never played any of the old Rayman games so other than platforming I'm not quite sure what to expect.
  6. Just woke up to Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. Thanks a lot, Mr. GOH!
  7. Already owned the main game from the humble bundle but it was the cheapest way to get all the DLC.
  8. Oh man, I love that song. I didn't know it was used in relation to Borderlands 2, though. First time I heard it was in this trailer, and it was perfect.
  9. I've wanted to play this one for years but kinda forgot about it until it appeared on Steam not too long ago.
  10. There aren't all that many full games I'm looking to get this year since I've managed to get most of the ones I wanted in the last few weeks. So I'm grabbing DLC instead. Dunwall City Trials didn't go on sale with the main game on Steam so I just grabbed it on GMG using the current voucher. edit: sigh... I've been listening to Amon Tobin a lot lately, especially his Chaos Theory soundtrack. Which kinda gave me an itch to replay some Splinter Cell.. So this happened @Tenshi: Cool. It's not exactly the most exciting DLC in the world but frankly I just can't say no to more Dishonored. Plus, the gameplay is good enough that I can actually imagine this being a lot of fun.
  11. Wow, Humble Bundle 7 is out. Maybe someone should tell them to slow the fuck down or something? Once again, I already own half the line-up (kinda wish I hadn't bought Shank 2 a couple weeks ago...). Maybe it's because I already own most of the big titles in it, but it seems like a weaker line-up than the last few main bundles. Indie Game: The Movie is a cool addition, though. Also I guess I'll have to finally give Dungeon Defenders a try. Curious to see what they'll be adding halfway through this time. edit: holy fuck! I saw that Dungeon Defenders came with all the DLC but I just checked on Steam and I hadn't realized there was so much of it. The whole thing costs 50 bucks! That's actually an incredible value.
  12. Has anyone here tried The Secret World? I've been very intrigued because I really dig the setting and the questing actually sounds like it could be fun, but the whole subscription thing is a huge turn-off for me. So now that they've dropped that, I'm really tempted to give it a shot.

Yeah, I keep hearing that about the combat. Can you elaborate? Is it standard WoW-like hotkey stuff or something else?

It handles really badly. I'd probably say that it's a rigid version of GW2's combat. Really hard to explain without actually playing it. It also has the abysmal decision of taking into account where you are facing when shooting (which most MMOs don't do for good reason)

  13. I was waiting for the HD patch to come out for the PC version, which I think it did a few weeks ago. I'll probably be grabbing it during the Steam holiday sale. Other than that, with finals coming up, I sadly don't have a whole lot of time to game so I've been mostly sticking to shorter titles. And now that they've finally patched in proper gamepad button prompts for Half-Minute Hero, I've been playing that. It's a great game to pick up for short bursts as most levels tend to last only a minute or two.
  14. Don't Starve does look pretty intriguing. I'm hesitant to get it, though, because I'm not sure how much I'd actually enjoy that kind of game.
  15. Thanks again to Waldorf & Statler for Mark of the Ninja and Contaiment: The Zombie Puzzler!
  16. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. It's clearly a hastily thrown together cash grab that was made purely to capitalize on the movie's release. It's short, the story is terrible and it cuts to credits abruptly with a quick voice over wrap-up to deal with a few loose ends afterwards. That being said, it's surprisingly decent. It starts out pretty average but once you start getting some abilities like water freezing, the platforming starts being a lot of fun. I'm not the biggest Prince of Persia fan (I played Sands of Time for the first time a few years ago and didn't really see what the big deal was) but I enjoyed it enough. I still wish they'd make a sequel to the 2008 cell-shaded reboot, though. I really liked that one.
  17. Hotline Miami. It's not that long but I hadn't touched it in over a month. Finally got around to beating the last few chapters and that was one hell of a trippy game. Looking forward to the sequel.
  18. Yeah, that's the problem. You never even know your actions are being recorded. And considering the reveal in the true ending, it really makes me wonder which one will be considered canon going into Last Light. Damnit, now I kinda feel like replaying the game. Don't really have the time, though.
  19. Out of curiosity, did you get the true ending? I was kind of annoyed when I finished the game and realized there was this hidden list of requirements you had to complete to get the true ending. What sucks is whenever you get to one of those, the game gives absolutely no indication that "HEY, THIS RIGHT HERE IS KIND OF IMPORTANT SO MAYBE DON'T IGNORE IT!"
  20. I think THQ have been pretty smart about that considering their current situation. Didn't they recently delay a big chunk of their upcoming line-up?
  21. Lol. How do you figure that? I buy full priced games multiples times a year. Actually more than 2 or 3. Admittedly, lately I've been reverting to PC as my main platform so while I've been buying games at launch I can somtimes get them cheaper, but I still bought a bunch of 60$ games this year.
  22. I came here to post that same trailer. I've been hearing about this one for a while so it's nice to finally see some footage. I'm a big fan of Guillermo Del Toro so I expect this to kick all kinds of ass. That being said, it was distracting as hell to hear GlaDOS. I'm kind of hoping that's placeholder.
  23. Mark of the Ninja. Holy shit, this was one of the best games I've played all year! It actually gave me some flashbacks of the old Splinter Cell games. Hiding in the shadows, taking out lights, only striking when you know for a fact you can take your target down and disappear. This is pure stealth and I loved every second of it. I am really hoping for a sequel.
  24. I'm not complaining. Mark of the Ninja is fucking awesome
