  1. Note to self: drinking coffee at 3 AM is NOT a good idea. Now I won't be able to sleep for hours. On the bright side, though, now I have a perfectly valid excuse for playing Phoenix Wright all night!

      Fuck yeah Phoenix Wright bitches

  2. Started playing Phoenix Wright T&T again last night. Then I remembered the Layton crossover :o I need to catch up on both series! I've yet to play Investigations or any Layton games beyond the first one. My DS has gone unloved for far too long.

  3. Finished the co-op campaign in Portal 2 tonight. Was pretty damn good!
  4. Portal 2. My original intent was to finish the single-player campaign in one sitting. And the game's early release happened around 12h30 AM in my timezone, so it seemed doable. But I had not considered the fact that I'd been up since about 10 AM that morning, so around 5 AM my brain sort of ceased to function properly. I couldn't think and the simplest tests had me fucking stumped. And it was actually pissing me off quite a bit When it dawned on me that I'd been up for over 20 hours, I just gave up and went to bed.
  5. Portal 2 is so good... but I've been up for almost 20 hours and my brain is shutting down... just.. one... more... test...

  6. PLEASE WAIT WHILE STEAM DECRYPTS PORTAL 2 GAME FILES!!!

  7. AAAAAAAAAAH 15 minutes left! The anticipation is killing me!

  8. Been playing Amnesia for a few hours. Great game. But so far it's nowhere near as intensely terrifying as most people made it out to be.

Well, I'm not saying it's not scary at all. It's scarier than a game like say Dead Space. And I play it with no lights on, alone in my room.

But considering all the reaction videos I've seen, and all the people saying how it was really, really scary, I expected something more terrifying than merely scary. So far my reactions to the scary parts were mostly along the lines of being startled and thinking "holy shit! haha that was awesome!"

I'm of the opinion that how scared you get is also very reliant on how much imagination you have. =p

Hey, I'll have you know that I have PLENTY of imagination!

  9. Of course! Everything is boring all week-end. Then today while I'm away from the computer because of a final, shit starts going down!

  10. Frankly, I never had any problem with it. It didn't always run 100% smoothly, but it was never unplayable. I used mouse and keyboard, though. And that's the reason I never finished it. The helicopters are just fucking impossible to control with a mouse and keyboard, and the last mission requires that you pilot one.
  11. Forgot to post them at the time, but I got these a few days ago during the 2K sale on Steam.
  12. Yeah, that website is great. I didn't use their fix, though, because it made the HUD and cutscenes stretch, and I can't stand that. Though sadly I don't think I'd have any choice now. For some reason, the option for fixed aspect-ratio scaling is gone from recent releases of my video card's driver.
  13. hahaha people on the steam forum have been trying to to figure out how it works all day. Someone even wrote a script that calculates an estimated time left, you run it and it shows % complete in the main bar and an adjusted timer. But he's most likely way off. You say a full bar knocks some time off? Guess the bar for The Wonder End of The World finally filled up? It was almost full last I checked. edit: yup, it's now full. Seems to me like it only knocked 50mins off the countdown.
  14. NELIPOT The group pic is a dinosaur.
  15. I only got the one from joining the group, but I own most of the games from the Potato pack. But still, Valve are such magnificent master trolls... They had so many people absolutely convinced that the game would come out this morning At this point I'm pretty sure any talk of early release is absolute bullshit. How much do you want to bet that they'll just happen to reach the correct amount of potatoes on the morning of the 19th? Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the Steam forums to see how enraged and butthurt everyone is.
  16. 1h10mins. That is both the time left on Valve's Aperture Science countdown AND the amount of time I have left before I have to leave for an exam.. If Portal 2 really does come out when that thing reaches zero... I'd still be able to play it tonight, so I can't really complain, but my three hours exam will feel much longer than it normally would :(

Leave five minutes before so you don't have to find out.

I ended up waiting for the countdown to end, and seeing that Valve were just trolling was pretty damn funny. If I had left earlier, I would've rushed through my exam to get back home and find nothing but disappointment lol

  17. Hahaha, damn. I don't know why it took me so long to recognize him, but I was looking at some screenshots just now and I realized that the main character is the guy who plays Ken Cosgrove in Mad Men. That explains why Cole Phelps always looked kinda familiar.
  18. Yesterday Enjoyed the demo so I gave it a shot Today Since I enjoyed Toki Tori, I gave the dev's other game a shot Also I've been waiting for a while for the DLC to get down to a reasonable price. So now I cam finally go continue the second run I stopped last summer when my sniper reached the level cap!
  19. Well, the last part is basically it. But it's not that I'm overly concerned so much as that I know they're not exactly the most savvy users when it comes to basic security and you know what they say about better safe than sorry. And I said myself that I was paranoid about my Steam account's security. Besides, it's not like I ever had any reason to log on Steam on any PC other than my desktop or my laptop anyway. Though I guess that now with Steam Guard and all such insane precautions might be overdoing it.
  20. BulletStorm. I was about halfway through the campaign when I stopped playing a little over a month ago. Finished the second half in 4 hours sitting just now. It was a very enjoyable game. I loved how the gameplay forced you to kill somewhat creatively. And some of the lines in the game were just mind-blowing by how retarded they were Most creative use of profanity I've seen in a long, long time.
  21. Oh, I see. Thanks. In that case I'll have to get the PS2 games first. I'd rather experience the narrative in the proper order. Hopefully they won't look too horrible on my HD screen.
  22. I've been really intrigued by this series for a while now but never got around to getting the PS2 games. Whenever I thought about it, I couldn't find a copy at a decent price on ebay. Anyway, I was wondering, would I miss out on anything if I were to play this one without having played the first two?
  23. Homefront. Finished it just now. Wasn't anything exceptional, but it was nowhere near as bad as reviews made it out to be, either. If you still play the yearly COD releases, then you should definitely enjoy it. I know I had some fun with it. That being said, it's insanely short (when I started playing about 2 hours ago, I was literally halfway through the game) and the "ending' is just fucking terrible. The final level itself was actually pretty cool overall, but it just ends too abruptly. I wouldn't even call it an ending, and if that was supposed to be a cliffhanger, they really didn't pull it off.
  24. Yeah, of course. This still can't compare with actual current-gen stuff. But it still looks much better than if I just ran the PC version and cranked up the resolution.
  25. Some screenshots from the upcoming Splinter Cell HD Trilogy http://playfront.de/neue-bilder-zu-splinter-cell-hd/ I have to say, this look pretty damn good to me So much for the argument that you can simply up the resolution on PC and get the same visuals. That looks like much more than a mere resolution increase to me. And having replayed the original SC on PC last summer, I can confirm that it doesn't even support 1920x1080 (unless you like stretching). Highest I could get without stretching was something like 1200x800 with a weird aspect ratio that pillarboxed the picture on my 16:9 monitor. Also, because of some old tech that's no longer supported by current nVidia drivers, some lights can't be displayed. I remember in the last level you're supposed to avoid a spotlight in some courtyard and it just wasn't there. Took me a while to realize why I kept triggering the alarm. Had to do some tweaking to at least get the game to tell me where the light was pointing but it was kinda frustrating to see such an important feature of the game be broken like that.
