  1. Hahaha, I hadn't noticed that but now that you mention it, the perspective in that pic is a bit weird. The legs are attached at the very end of its body. You can see the other one faintly in the background, on the left side of the pic.
  2. It's the same thing, Dean. Also, Abin Sur, not Amun If you look at the WonderCon footage (middle vid), at around 0:44, right after Abin Sur is knocked down by the yellow blast and escapes, you see the dark face coming at him. When you see the black entity in later shots, notice how there's yellow energy coming out of it. Though I'd really like to know why it is that whenever they have to represent a "big alien monster" in comic book movies they always seem to equate it to "big evil cloud". It's fucking ridiculous.... How exactly does a cloud look more menacing than this?
  3. This doesn't bother me too much. I loved Brotherhood and I'm sure I'll love this just as much. Plus, playing as both Ezio and Altaïr could be awesome if they find a good balance between the two. That being said, what I really wanted was a proper ACIII with a new setting and protagonist. And the more they delay that, the higher the expectations get. If they stay in Ezio's time for too long and only slightly refine the gameplay, it's going to get old pretty quick. They might've gotten away with an only slightly improved ACIII if they'd released it after ACII. But after 3 games, now it'll be time for another significant upgrade. Otherwise ACIII will just feel half-assed.
  4. Hehe, oh well, guess I'll see soon enough. Just finished issue 8 and am currently debating whether I should go to bed or just read the last 5 issues. edit: Hahaha, oh man, in retrospect, I'm actually glad I read the spoiler. It made the final reveal that much more surprising and awesome.
  5. Aww man, why'd I read this earlier today? >_< I just read the first three issues of The Long Halloween and it's excellent so far but... that definitely takes some of the fun out of it
  6. Yeah, it wasn't exactly stated outright in the trailers that the black cloudy thing is Parallax, but it has been confirmed that the entity is in the movie, so it seemed like a logical assumption. And I started reading at the Green Lantern: Rebirth series and then moved on to the current series (v4). I did some research and it seemed pretty unanimous that that was the best jumping on point. I've also been reading the concurrently ongoing Green Lantern Corps. I sorta took a break from it after the Sinestro Corps War story arc, though. Been mostly reading some Batman over the past week or so.
  7. Haven't seen a thread yet about this one. I've only recently (as in a few weeks ago) started reading the Green Lantern comics, but I'm already hooked. I've since gotten much more into comics than I ever did before (started reading some old Batman stuff and some Superman), but the GL series have such a unique flavor to them. I just dig the alien diversity in them. The first trailer was met with pretty mixed reactions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5sN-8CxoL4 Then a few weeks ago, they showed some awesome footage at WonderCon and people started getting real excited. This footage is actually what made me want to start reading the comics right away instead of waiting for the movie. I decided I didn't want to be introduced to the character by the movie. I wanted to see the movie as a fan instead. That was definitely the right call, as far as I'm concerned. And then today there was a new trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLAyeGoFqps So much to get excited about here. First, the first footage of a guardian. The CG looks a bit off to me, but I was starting to worry that they wouldn't be in the movie. Then, around the 0:17 mark, an interesting logo can be spotted B) Should be familiar to fans of the current series. At this point, the only thing I'm not sold on yet is the looks of Parallax. I thought the whole evil cloud thing had been proved to be a bad idea by Rise of the Silver Surfer, but I guess we'll see. Hopefully it'll work in this movie. So, who's looking forward to this?
  8. Yes, that's exactly my point. I was like Though that could be rationalized as
  9. Yeah, I think the point of that decision was less about getting different outcomes and more about trying to elicit an emotional response from the player. Like, it was meant to be this tough moral decision. Whether they succeeded or not is arguable, but I know I hesitated slightly before doing it.
  10. I've replayed the game numerous times, so I don't really remember all the details of my first playthrough, but here's how it ended.
  11. I see. Damn, I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. I own the whole series on Steam anyway, so Dark Crusade is a simple download away. But now I have to decide whether I stop DOWII and go play Dark Crusade right away or not. Can I ignore Soulstorm for now or is it also important story-wise? Oh and I've wanted to see Ultramarines for a while now! The animation looks absolutely shit, but I heard it's good fun if you're into the 40K.
  12. I played the original Dawn of War a few years ago and really loved it, even though I'm usually not very good at RTS games. I wasn't crazy on Winter Assault, though, so I never got around to playing Dark Crusade and Soulstorm. Anyway, I started Dawn of War II recently and I absolutely love it! I really dig how Relic have done away with base building and have given a more rpg-like nature to the gameplay. Now I'm all kinds of excited about Space Marine. And even though I'm really not into MMOs, I'm really curious about Dark Millenium Online. The 40K setting is just too awesome for me to ignore any game set in it.
  13. AAAARRRRHHGGG! Applied for a job last week and they actually called today, which I frankly did not expect. I really need the job (and the pay is pretty good), but I was pretty nervous on the phone and I'm afraid it showed >_

Is that a specific reference I'm not getting? Or are you just talking like Mario?

      「Advent Chaos」

It's okay FLD, while bosses want people who are confident, they understand how one can be nervous at times. just be ready for anything next time, Best of luck man, you can get this job!

Play it cool and dazzle them with your coolness.

  14. First Transformers was okay. Second was absolute shit. Not really looking forward to the third one, but I have to admit the second half of this trailer is pretty sick!
  15. Alright, I just finished watching Under The Red Hood, and I'm gonna have to agree with you all and say it's the best animated DC movie. Considering all the praise, I had pretty high expectations, and it didn't meet them, it shattered them. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that it's the best Batman movie not starring Christian Bale, in my opinion. Oh and that Batman/Nightwing team-up at the beginning was just awesome. Now I really want either a Nightwing movie, or another Batman movie in which Nightwing plays a bigger part.
  16. Watched Superman/Batman: Apocalypse tonight. It was good, but talk about a misleading title! They might as well have called it "Supergirl Begins". I think next time I'll give Supes a rest and will watch Under the Red Hood, keeping All-Star for last. Haven't managed to find a torrent for the Wonder Woman movie yet. For those interested, the upcoming movies are (according to wikipedia) Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. An anthology kinda thing, made up of several shorter stories. Coming out June 7th! Batman: Year One, set to come out in the fall. JLA: Doom, based on the Tower of Babel story arc. and The Dark Knight Returns, which was only confirmed to be in production about two weeks ago. So I imagine this one won't be coming out anytime soon Personally, I'd love for them to eventually make a Green Lantern one about the Sinestro Corps War. I read the story arc recently, and it was pretty damn epic!
  17. Ha! I am not one to fall for the same trick twice! Last night's 3AM cup of coffee kept me up until about 8 this morning. Tonight? I OUTSMART the coffee by drinking it at 2 AM!

You threw it off by one hour! It never saw it coming!

I know! It's looking pretty stupid sitting in its mug right about now!

  18. Disagree. Justice League: The New Frontier is better. I haven't seen Under The Red Hood yet, but New Frontier is my favorite so far The second JLA one, though, Crisis on Two Earths? I thought that was the weakest.
  19. Wait, so the last time Steam updated the game, it broke my save? That's... so fucking stupid. >_< Oh, now that I've read that link, it seems I won't be affected, I guess. I own Dead Money but I haven't touched it yet. But still... nice going Obsidian
  20. Lately I've been watching some of the DC animated movies, like Green Lantern: First Flight, JLA: New Frontier, Batman/Superman: Public Enemies etc... So far, not a single one of them was bad. I still can't believe how insanely better they are than the shit ones Marvel put out. I haven't seen Hulk Vs., but the two Ultimate Avengers movie were such a bore. I think the least boring one I've seen was the Doctor Strange one, and it wasn't that great. I've still got Batman/Superman: Apocalypse and All-Star Superman to watch, and a friend urged me to also get Batman: Under The Red Hood. I expect those will be excellent as well. Oh and they're currently making Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns! O_O It's a good time be a fan of Batman and cartoons!
  21. Aside from my credit card info (and the card is almost maxed out anyway, so it's not like I could get even more in debt), I feel like I was somewhat prepared for this. Long story short, prior to the Gawker hack, I used a single password on pretty much everything. So when that went down, I freaked a bit and went through every account I could think of and gave them all new, unique passwords. In the end, it turned out my info hadn't been compromised, but eh, at least now my shit is more secure. Anyway, PSN was also using that one password at the time, so I changed it to my Steam password since it was the most secure password I used and knew it by heart. So thanks to the Gawker fiasco, the damage is very minimal this time. I only had to change my Steam password. Other than that, I'll just need to pay close attention to my credit card transactions, but I've always monitored it closely anyway.
  22. Note to self: drinking coffee at 3 AM is NOT a good idea. Now I won't be able to sleep for hours. On the bright side, though, now I have a perfectly valid excuse for playing Phoenix Wright all night!

      excel_excel

      Fuck yeah Phoenix Wright bitches

  23. Started playing Phoenix Wright T&T again last night. Then I remembered the Layton crossover :o I need to catch up on both series! I've yet to play Investigations or any Layton games beyond the first one. My DS has gone unloved for far too long.

Oh God, I love Phoenix Wright. Currently replaying T&T also!

Currently playing Justice for All. Hooray for PW luv!

  24. Finished the co-op campaign in Portal 2 tonight. Was pretty damn good!
  25. Portal 2. My original intent was to finish the single-player campaign in one sitting. And the game's early release happened around 12h30 AM in my timezone, so it seemed doable. But I had not considered the fact that I'd been up since about 10 AM that morning, so around 5 AM my brain sort of ceased to function properly. I couldn't think and the simplest tests had me fucking stumped. And it was actually pissing me off quite a bit When it dawned on me that I'd been up for over 20 hours, I just gave up and went to bed.
