I really wish Cold Steel was on PC. Sure I could get it for the PS3 but at this point, I don't like to turn it on.

I still haven't played my Vita copy. :( Gotta finish Persona Q first and I also bought SMT IV. Got too many JRPGs to play...

I think a port is possible further down the line, especially if we end up getting Zero and Ao after 3rd. And if we do get them, that means XSEED might potentially also get their hands on the PC ports of Ys Seven and Celceta since they were all ported by the same company. That would be pretty good.

I think so but the first one can feel a bit slow for some people. Here's a more in-depth recommendation I wrote a few months ago.

Also, it looks like FC and SC are currently on sale everywhere. Now's your chance to check out the PSP versions for cheap!

  3. Honestly, that wasn't anywhere near as big a deal as people are making it out to be. I mean, tying any game logic to framerate is dumb and bad, obviously. But when I played Dark Souls II at launch, at first I didn't even realize it was a bug, I just figured they had nerfed durability. So, I upgraded myself a backup weapon to carry around with me. I had my main mace and would switch to my backup longsword whenever the mace was close to breaking. It forced me to switch up my playstyle a bit and made for some interesting variety in the combat. As far as I'm concerned, it actually added to the experience. And it's not like it actually happened all that often anyway. Bonfires are rarely very far apart and resting at one resets the durability of any weapon that isn't broken. Anyway, speaking of Dark Souls II, I should probably get around to playing Scholar of the First Sin soon. Only a month left until Dark Souls III! Also, it probably wouldn't hurt to get some Souls practice with the Steam controller while I'm at it. It was fine for a mindless action game like Dragon Quest Heroes but in Souls there is no room for error. Better be 100% comfortable with it before jumping into III.
  4. This is how you get put on a watch list.
  5. When I say a dollar, obviously I mean a Canadian dollar. Its relative value to the American dollar is completely irrelevant to me unless I'm buying something in US currency, like on eBay or GMG or whatever. So in that sense, yeah, a dollar is still very much a dollar to me. I don't get less/more of it or pay less/more for things here based on its fluctuations. And the UK £ comparison doesn't really work because, as far as I'm aware, those prices were never exactly matched. Whereas, not that long ago I was paying $60 for my games the same as you. That's the main issue here, that's what makes it feel like we're getting screwed over.
  6. So? I'm aware of that but to me a dollar is still a dollar. I don't give a shit how strong or weak it is globally, I'm not getting more of them because of it. If they're willing to charge a fraction of the price to move copies in regions like Russia and South America, then they should be fine charging local currency here without jacking up the price. Besides, you just know if our dollar recovers they won't be anywhere near as quick to lower the price as they were in raising it. As a result, now I have no qualms whatsoever about abusing regional pricing. I used to feel bad about buying from places like Nuuvem but now fuck you, if I can get your game for half the price from them then I fucking will. If they're going to be greedy then I'm not gonna feel bad about being cheap.
  7. Lol, if only... My best option in this case would probably be GMG with a 25% voucher or something, but that would be a uPlay code, so... yeah, no.
  8. I was never terribly interested in it but, for some reason, I started getting really curious the closer to launch we got. If it wasn't 80 bucks on Steam, I might actually bite. I'll probably get it in a few months, once I can get a decent discount on it.
  9. Yeah, I also never made that "it's indie" argument. Quit being a moron, Cowboy. This thread is going to be fucking priceless if the game ends up being incredibly underwhelming, though!
  10. They still have that Sea of Thieves game. That looked kind of alright. Not really my thing but it didn't look awful like Fable Legends. If development goes smoothly and the game is a success, it could probably keep them alive. If they run into development issues, though...
  11. Yeah, at this point I've replayed through the main set of levels like 10 times because of the challenges. Some of them are actually pretty damn cool.
  12. Oh ok, I didn't know they were the ones to actually mention it. Well, I'm sure they could make it work by significantly dropping the graphical fidelity or something.
  13. If the rumors that Hello Games were struggling to get good performance on PS4 were true, I think PSVR support might not even be possible. I heard the game is going to run at 30 fps but I can't find any source. Has that been confirmed? Cause if that's the case then VR support on PS4 is very unlikely.
  14. I could be wrong here because I haven't really looked into it too deeply but the way I understand it is that they generated the one universe and the game takes place in it. I mean, I imagine procedural generation on that kind of scale has to be fairly long to compute, I'd be surprised if you could just reseed the whole thing and jump back in in a few mins. Although I guess that depends on the level of complexity at work.
  15. In the midst of idiotic arguments like "It's indie, it shouldn't be 60 dollars!", I just wanna point out that my stance on this has always been about what I'm personally willing to pay for the game. The devs can charge however the hell they feel is fair, no issue with that. I just won't buy it until it drops a bit. I was never particularly hyped for the game, so it doesn't make much of a difference to me. Your face is overpriced!
  16. It does but it's a bit weird. The interface is a bit like Terraria, so it's very mouse-driven. You're basically controlling the cursor with the joystick, which I don't think works particularly well.
  17. Full release and, as far as I can tell, there's been no talk of a console release whatsoever. This is made by just one guy, so if a console release ever happens, I'd assume it's unlikely to be anytime soon.
  18. Couldn't resist. I only played for about an hour or so late last night but I can already tell that this game is going to be addictive in the same way Terraria was.
  19. $16.99, actually. I'm very tempted to get it. Problem is I've barely put any time in Disgaea and I have a big programming assignment to power through this week. But it looks so goooooood...
  20. Perhaps but I meant unbalanced in the turn-based sense. Like, that's all happening on a single turn. They just don't get the chance to react. The fact that you can call the Skyranger and evac on the same turn is a bit OP, honestly. It's like a get out of jail free card.
  21. SUPERHOT. It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years! ... but it's also about 2 hours long which, yeah, really glad I didn't pay 35 bucks for it. Although, to be fair, the gameplay is absolutely fantastic and you unlock a bunch of challenges and an endless mode after you beat the story mode (which is surprising cool), so I can see that giving the game some longer legs than it otherwise would have. I guess 20 bucks like Mr. GOH! said would be a decent price for it. But it's not 20 bucks here, it's 35 bucks. And they can fuck right off with that price The game is great but it's absolutely not worth that much. -------------------------- XCOM 2. I finished my campaign a few days ago but I wanted to let it sink in for a little while before writing my thoughts on it. The TL;DR of it is that it's undeniably an improvement over the original but I'd argue only a marginal one. The tactical gameplay is largely the same. There's some tweaks here and there to accommodate what became the preferred playstyle in Enemy Unknown but it's not wildly different or anything. The concealment mechanic was a really nice addition although it ended up making me wish there was a viable stealth approach. I was always tempted to try to remain concealed for as long as possible, sometimes even managing to make it all the way to the objective before being detected. But then I'd end up activating like 3 pods at the same time and I'd be fucked. That is, if it wasn't for another new mechanic! There was something so incredibly satisfying with sneaking my way to the objective, getting found out, quickly planting the bomb/hacking the thing/whatever else and immediately calling the Skyranger and evac'ing my entire squad while like 3 archons, 2 mutons and like 4 other dudes just stood there, powerless to do anything about it. Fun times! Although, probably a bit unbalanced, I guess... One thing that's mostly improved is the tactical layer. The geoscape is more involved now and actually has something that qualifies as gameplay in it. You constantly have to weight time vs what you really need to get or do. My campaign ended up lasting a good 15h longer than it should have because I played like a goddamn idiot early on. In EU, you could pretty much postpone the main objectives indefinitely with little to no penalty. So I did that and ended up filling the Avatar progress bar almost all the way through before I had even done the first Blacksite objective. Not sure why I didn't catch on to that being a big no-no but I ended up having to focus all my efforts on bringing it back down, which added the extra 15h I mentioned. By the time I was ready to get back to doing main objectives, I had end-game gear and was able to power through most of it pretty easily. Beyond that, here's where I thought the game fell a bit short. So, in EU, Firaxis said that at some point during development they had to choose between procedural map generation and environmental destruction. They chose the latter and, as a result, as early as my second campaign I started seeing maps coming up again and kinda frequently. That made the game get a little old much faster than it should have. So, procedural map generation was my most-wanted feature from an XCOM sequel, so I was pretty stoked to see them doing it. Here's the thing, though. EU had a ton of great, memorable maps that I remember instantly whenever I think of the game. I can't really come up with a single map from XCOM 2 that feels the same way or whose layout I could actually describe all that well. It's hard to say how much of a difference the procedural gen really makes until I do a second run and honestly, I think given the choice I'd stick with it over the map pool of EU. But it's still something that I couldn't help but notice because it seemed like such an obvious drawback. Another aspect I'd argue was a step back is the art style. There was just something kind of iconic for me about the enemy design in EU. The little fatty Sectoids, the creepy Thin Men, the hulking Mutons and even the fucking Cyberdiscs! Maybe it's because the designs were directly based on the original game but it was all so charming and almost cartoony but in a great way. Other than a couple of enemies like the Vipers and the Archons, I thought the enemy design in XCOM 2 was kinda bland, uninspired and overly serious by comparison. I wouldn't call it bad by any means, it just seemed like a slight step down. My biggest issues with the game are clearly superficial, though, so I don't want to sound too negative here. The game is fantastic and I loved the hell out of it. I kinda want to start a new campaign right away but I think I'll hold off, maybe until the first season pass content comes out. Got too much other stuff to play and too little time to actually do it.
  22. Grabbed the Humble Bundle 16, which got me as well as other junk like Trine 3. Also got an 80% coupon for the Outlast DLC, so... It's a pretty great bundle overall. Outlast and Door Kickers alone would be worth the purchase if I didn't already own them.
  23. Made a few purchases this week. Hitman GO is great but it keeps crashing on me. It's not been a major problem given how short the levels are but still. Might have to refund it if they don't patch it. :/ The AK season pass was on sale for 10 bucks on Bundle Stars so I figured why the hell not. I'll revisit the game eventually and when I do I'll likely want to play all the DLC. As for SUPERHOT, it's ridiculously overpriced so thank God for Nuuvem. Ended up costing me like 12 bucks.
  24. No problem! I'm just glad it turned out this way. It was obvious that NIS put some real effort into the port (and even in marketing it), so it was kinda disappointing to see so many people write it off as another shitty Japanese port. I really hope the damage can be undone, especially with that moronic Destructoid piece calling it "an absolute mess". edit: Ha, Steam reviews are back up to "Mostly Positive" whereas yesterday it was at "Mixed". Glad to see people are changing their reviews to reflect this. Also, did you turn v-sync back on? I get pretty bad tearing with it off but none when it's on. The only real remaining issue now is the broken SSAO, which I can live without. Yeah, I'm really curious to know the details on that one. It's not exactly something you'd think would be related. I remember now that I was on the beta client because a lot of features for the Steam Controller just aren't in the regular client yet. I don't really mind but still, I hope they can figure out the problem and patch it anyway.
  25. Don't know if you heard about this yet but it looks like the Steam beta client is the cause of the issues for a lot of people. I had forgotten I was on it but reverting to the regular client seems to have fixed everything for me. Game is running at a solid 60fps with everything turned on now. Might wanna give it a shot if you're on the beta client.
