Honestly, that's why I was asking you. Regardless, the memory cards are still over priced and Sony's shooting itself in the footage with this. The problem is that the memory cards are required for certain games. The 3DS is picking up sales, and finally has some most own software. Not to mention a 170 dollar price tag that gives you everything you need to play games right out of the box. The Vita might offer better graphics but so did the PSP and we all know how that turned out. I'm still getting mine on launch day, but I just don't know if I'm going to get the 64 GB card...

Ignoring Johnny's post (sorry Johnny). It's not so much that they're last in the timeline, but it makes sense that they take place in two different time lines because they both start almost exactly the same. So the belief is that they take place at the same time, with two separate Links. Ganon being dead makes sense as well, if Legend of Zelda is after Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks like I suspect, than he'd be dead from Legend of Zelda, and hence needing to be restored. All this talk about the Oracle games is really reminding me, Nintendo needs to hurry up and release them on the Virtual Console. EDIT: Upon reading some of Johnny's older posts, you're reading waaay too much into things. There's a very loose timeline with a lot of holes and things that don't make sense and entire games that don't make sense. A lot of the references are nods to players who've played previous games. It makes sense for one game to reference another but stringing them all together doesn't really work. That's Nintendo's fault for poor planning but clearly story hasn't always been their biggest focus. It's not like we're dealing with Star Wars here. I will admit that clearly Wind Waker was meant as a follow up to Ocarina, that's the most obvious out of them (besides direct sequels like Majora's Mask).

Ok, let's go through the list, manufacturing the game cart, manufacturing the case, printing manuals, shipping the game. All of that adds up, replace that with simply downloading GB or two, that's much more cost effective. Retail games are more expensive to produce, so they should cost more than downloadable games. Where are you getting the info that SD isn't fast enough? Not saying that isn't the case, but I haven't heard that before.

I've never played a Metal Gear. I think I'll pick that up and just read a synopsis on the first Solid game.

Reviews are coming in... ranging from an IGN 9 to a Destructoid 5. I don't really see the point in reviewing this game, it's Mario Kart, you either like it or you don't but it doesn't need a big "shake up" like Jim Sterling claims. So I ask you: what characters would you have liked to have seen in the new Mario Kart? Personally, since we're still celebrating 25 years of Zelda, and 3D Land had a Zelda level and the boomarangs are, apparently, in tribute to Zelda, I don't see why we can't have some Toon Link in Mario Kart, and maybe have a Lost Woods course?

$120 for a memory card?? Why not use SD cards? The 3DS does! When Nintendo does what you don't... that's a bad sign. Hey, I don't have a problem with the price tag, IF they are going to pass savings onto people buying their games digitally. Other wise you might as well just buy the game via retail. This entire thing is completely counter productive to Sony's digital-based efforts.

Now that you're done, what would you give the game out of 10??? THAT'S IT!!!

I cut you! Just kidding. Anyways, let's all agree that is the best controller ever.

I also don't use my shield much, but now that I have the Goddess Shield, which heals itself, I'll take one or two hits with it. It's too bad, I understand what they were trying to do with the durability of the shield, this way it gives you something to upgrade besides just size, but maybe they're just too easy to break? I beat the fourth dungeon boss last night. Now that was a battle.

I am really enjoying upgrading my equipment, I hope this sticks around and is maybe even expanded upon in future Zelda games, as it really suits the world. I can see a lot of potential in upgrading swords as well. Some very minor non-plot related spoilers here: I just made it to the fourth temple, but I was surprised I had to return to the first temple again. In all the Zelda games I've played (which is most of them) I can't think of ever having to do that. I had heard we had to return to the same areas again, but I was figuring it was trips back to Faron Woods, etc not having to go back to a dungeon, find a small keys, and fight some mini-bosses. I don't really mind that though, these areas are so well designed and so interesting to look at, I don't mind coming back. Some other thoughts: I think this has been mentioned before, but when the game was in development, like most of you, I thought the sky would be akin to the sea in Wind Waker, but it's really just Hyrule Field that can't be walked across. Or even more similarly, a larger Termina Field, with Skyloft serving as Clock Town. Once you think of it like that, I get more of the 'Ocarina' vibe out of it, which isn't a bad thing. I'd be interested in hearing why certain series mainstays were kept and others weren't.

I still have mine too! I just can't be bothered to find AA batteries for my Game Boy.

Purchased via the Virtual Console. First game I ever beat as a kid. Will I beat it again? No.

Props for Pavement. Probably one of my favorite bands ever, and they really don't get enough credit. They don't get enoug credit? How many music forums do you go to? I was thinking more of when people think of 90's bands they come always seem to come up with Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Soundgarden, Sublime, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, with Pavement rarely mentioned. To answer the question, though, pretty much zero. I love Pavement, Crooked Rain is one of my favorite albums of the 90s, but they get almost too much credit, behind maybe on the Pixies for "indie" 90s bands.

Well, I was playing Skyrim, but I took a break for that and was hoping to beat the new Assassin's Creed in the 5 days before Zelda came out but it didn't consume my life like the last two ones did, so now I have to beat Zelda (about to start the 3rd dungeon), and Assassin's Creed, before i can comfortably go back to Skyrim... hopefully I can get that done before January because Final Fantasy XIII-2 comes out at the end of that month.

Here's some games I got in the past week.

Ok! Some spoilers/predictions from up to the end of the 2nd dungeon.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection
TCP replied to Thorgi Duke of Frisbee's topic in Multi-Platform Games
Well, I'm not playing through a PS1 game, so I better read up on a Wiki before I pick this up. -
Really?? That controller is one of the reasons I never touch my 360 anymore. Nowhere near as comfortable as the PS3 controller, and moving the left stick to up me insane!

I can't even remember what those songs sound like... Nintendo needs to hurry up and release Minish Cap on VC (along with the hundreds of other GBA greats)... especially since Skyward Sword takes a few cues from Minish Cap. I got through the first dungeon. I've read a few places that the first dungeon is the worst, which hey, that's good because it wasn't half bad, just your typical Zelda dungeon (minus block puzzles, thank god). The combat in this game is some of the best I've ever seen. Even the easier enemies take some planning to defeat.

It's good! Worlds better than the Mario CD last year. The Orchestration is awesome and well recorded (it sounds so warm, you'd think it was vinyl), it's just a little short, there's so much more they could have done. The opening medley is the best, with theme's from most (all?) of the games... I forgot how good Spirit Track's theme song is. But the CD is not as good as but really, what is?It's too bad Nintendo hates Apple, they could record a lot of more of these and throw them on iTunes and they'd probably do pretty well.

I'm not afraid to admit that I was a little disappointed with the difficulty, the original three games had a gradual increase in difficulty, this one basically assaults you after the first world. I love platformers but I'm just terrible at them.

I hear you there. It snowed last night, now I have to drive my girlfriend to work at 12:15, which doesn't leave me with enough time to go to the only EB Games in town that opens before noon on Sundays (11) so now I'm stuck playing the waiting game (which is not as awesome as a Zelda game). The best part is she works till 5:30 so I have over 5 hours of uninterrupted gaming!!

I just realized something... since I never owned a GameCube and I didn't get a Wii till two years after launch, so this is the first time a console Zelda has been released when I owned the system since Majora's Mask. I was excited then when I was 13, and holy crap am I excited now. Tomorrow!!!! Though I do really wish Nintendo would release games on Saturdays, if they wanted to do this whole weekend release thing, more time to play and EB Games is open earlier!
