  1. On Switch? PS4? I thought someone said fast forward is PC only??
  2. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Man, I still have no idea what this game is about. But I really like being able to choose my characters jobs and the license system. Once the second license board opens up, you can pick what combination of jobs your characters have, it's great. The Hunts were my favourite part, I wish more Final Fantasy games had them. Music wise it's kind of ho-hum, nowhere near as good as FF13. Ivalice is an interesting fantasy world, I like the middle eastern influences a lot of the cities have. Story wise, it's not as incomprehensible as FF13 but it's also hard to give a fuck about anything when Vaan is pushed into the middle of everything as the main character... even when Baltheir openly refers to himself as the main character. He would have been better but I'm if the opinion that Basch or Ashe would be better. I also want to mention how great the English localization is, especially for 2006. It's spot on. I have to say, almost without exception, every character in this game dresses stupidly. I have to say playing at 4x speed is great, when you turn it back to normal speed it's incredibly sluggish, I can't imagine playing that on the PS2. I've read that FFX remastered does not have the fast forward feature, too bad. Also too bad this never got a direct sequel. Yes, yes, I know there's a DS sequel but it's a tactical RPG or something and it's also on the DS. In a world full of unnecessary Final Fantasy sequels, I feel this one actually deserves one. Most importantly... were Baltheir and Fran banging?
  3. My favourite part of e3 is the Thursday and Friday before when everything leaks.

Holy shit, E3 is leaking really bad this year. Since Sony and Nintendo is out, Microsoft need to have their TOTALLY NECESSARY live band play a last song for the sinking E3.

Honestly, knowing for a fact that the GRRM x From game is not only real but confirmed to be there makes me even more hyped! The leak being nothing more than a logo is fucking killing me right now!

Anyhow, I look forward to it. inb4 we commit a Red Wedding or some shit.

  4. Death Stranding, saving 2019. Thanks Kojima.

  5. Yeah I had never seen it before, I don't remember hearing much about it when it came out and didn't know much about it. I assumed it was kind of like a Fast and Furious movie. Nope! It was bad ass. Don't really know how you get sequels out of it, but I'll give them a try eventually.
  6. John Wick Damn, this might shock you guys, but this movie is actually pretty cool. But the rest of the movie is pretty action packed. I could do without the licensed music though.
  7. A lot of people have an issue with Dany going crazy. I actually think Dany going crazy and burning a city of innocent children and families is something that should have happened. But they way they portrayed it definitely didn't feel earned. She went crazy why?? Because Jon didn't want to bang? Give me a fucking break. My main gripe is with Jamie fucking Lannister. This dude just spent 8 seasons growing as a person. In season 3 (?) we learn no, he's not just some ruthless Kingslayer, he killed King Aerys because Aerys was about to burn down King's Landing. Jamie scarified his own reputation, potentially his life, to save the people. Then years later, he leaves behind his sister lover, who's pregnant with his nephew/niece/child to go fight for the living and save the world. And they have the nerve to make Jamie say he's never cared about the people? Give me a fucking break. They've taken this dude who pushed 8 year old lil Bran out a window without giving it a second thought into someone who is compassionate and carrying. Someone who won the heart of Brienne of Tarth, one of the most honourable people in the entire Seven Kingdoms. And you're going to tell me, nah bro, he's going to go support Cersei and comfort her and give his life for her. Give me a fucking break. It's hack writing. It's great from a production standpoint. The destruction of King's Landing, for a television show, absolutely amazing. Most of the acting is pretty great. In fact, Emilia Clarke, who I've never felt was a particularly strong actor, her scene on Drogon when she decides to burn the city... great!! Arya's whole sequence is awesome (and I hope they release the full 12 minute take at some point). The Hound vs The Mountain was a little silly in concept but was executed well. What I'm trying to say is there's a lot of good stuff in this show. But the writing, the plotting, however you want to describe it, was an embarrassment. A lot of things have happened in this season that would be fine for most standard television shows. But when seasons 1 - 4 contain a world that is so meticulously crafted, and you end with.... this. It's very obvious and very hard to watch.
  8. Yikes. Everything up to The Bells was ok. Arya and Sandor's chat was great. Everything else. Oh god.
  9. You guys... please don't make fun of me... but... I am playing, and enjoying, Final Fantasy XII. I know, I know. But it's actually, really cool! It reminds me of a single player MMO.
  10. If nothing else, time has proven me right that Dragon Age 2 is the best Dragon Age game.

  11. Where did she come from? Clearly she tapped into the speed force, did you not see that long hair White Walker's hair rustle?!?! I guess, as far as the TV show goes, Azor Ahai, The Prince that was Promised, The Long Night, all that stuff, didn't matter. Or maybe Arya is? If they can justify it, I'm ok with that being the case. It just didn't feel earned. Bran didn't do anything. What's his point??? So episode 4 must be wrapping up the north, preparing for Cersei. Episode 5 will be the Battle for King's Landing. Episode 6 will be the aftermath and wrapping everything up??
  12. Couldn't get decent IMAX tickets till Sunday, so I'm waiting. Can anyone confirm if there's mid/post credits scene? Sorry if this was covered, too afraid to read this thread too closely.
  13. That was a solid fucking episode. Jamie knighting Brienne was some good stuff. Arya side boob and butt was a little uncomfortable though. I have two(ish) reasonable predictions that I'd like to make. I have not read any spoilers, for that, you all have my word, as a man of honour. 1) So, you know how in the show, for some fucking reason, Dany is apparently fire proof?? Well, in this next episode, Jon will burn things up on a dragon but at some point he will come off the dragon and fight the Night King on foot. The Night King though, has had thousands of years to train, so he will best Jon. He'll have his sword at Jon's neck and be about to kill him, when Dany, nearby with Drogon, will see the Night King is distracted, she'll see this is her one shot, and she'll roast them up. But Jon, as Aegon Targaryen (I still think that name is stupid) will not roast, since he, like Daenarys, is fire proof. This will prove to Dany that he's a Targ. 2) Melisandre will show up in the battle, Gandalf style, probably with some more Fire Priests (that's why she went back to Volantis). They will do one of two things. 2A) Some sort of giant fire monster to destroy a bunch of wights. I think this is important since we saw her give birth to a fire deamon in season 2 but outside of resurrecting Jon (something a simpleton like Thoros could do) we haven't seen her do much magic stuff. 2B) Show up after the battle, after everyone dies, and resurrect everyone (well, everyone important). Let's hope it's NOT this. Because otherwise.... ...I just don't see how you get three more episodes after this. It'll feel cheap is the army of the dead wins but a bunch of characters somehow live. Unless they defeat the Night King in this episode and the rest of the season is dealing with Cersei? Maybe that would be better since the show has, at its core, always been more about politics than magical armies and good vs bad. EDIT: Upon further reflection, I also think it's very likely the Night King pulls a Twins or Casterly Rock and just uses a small part of his army to distract Winterfell while he, his ice dragon, and the rest of his army head to the one million unprepared people in King's Landing.
  14. 360/PS3 generation felt really long but you're right, it will be the same length. PS4 just feels incredibly short, I guess we're getting old. Anyways, all the news from the Wired article sounds exciting (RAY TRACING?!?!) but also expensive as fuck. Would love to see Sony come in at an affordable price again. I'm playing less games now than I ever have, maybe I'll be fine waiting for a price drop...
  15. I feel like the PS4 just launched. ?
  16. In which film/tv show does it say that dark side users can't be force ghosts? Also, how did Anakin become one if it requires training? I feel like they're just making this up as they go along!!! Kylo becoming good doesn't really make him a Skywalker, even before he turned good, he was a Solo. The Rise of Skywalker is an OK name, it's better than Attack of the Clones or The Empire Strikes Back.
  17. Evil force ghost? Nice. Also Luke saying "we taught you..."... Obi-Wan confirmed?
  18. I watched Thor Ragnarok last night on the old Netflix. I've come to the conclusion that is peak Marvel and the best MCU film. Everything about it is great. The score? Great. The humour? Great. The action? Great. It got rid of all the baggage of earlier Thor films, like Natalie Portman, the One Broke Girl, the Warriors Three, the goddamn fucking dutch tilts. Instead bringing in Val and Jeff Goldblum and the Hulk. Thor telling Bruce "sun's getting real low" over and over again just kills me. The use of colour is just great, the entire thing just looks awesome. Taika Watiti is the man. EDIT: I DIDN'T EVEN MENTION KORG! "Piss off, ghost!" is the best goddamn one liner in the MCU. Don't @ me.
  19. I saw Captain Marvel on Friday. First, I have to say, it was my first time seeing a film in IMAX, which was cool as hell. Also, the movie was pretty darn good. I think it ranks among the upper echelon of Marvel origin films, with Black Panther. Brie and Samuel L were great. The de-aging on Mr. Jackson was incredible. Same with Coulson who I could have used more of, one of my few nitpicks. The Skrulls were awesome and it was so cool to see them on film. I can't wait to see her with the Avengers ...next month?! Anywho, as per tradition:
  20. I watched Aquaman last night. I heard it was pretty good. It was not. It felt like 5 goddamn hours long and nothing really happened.
