  1. I'm looking to buy a new GFX card, leaning Nvidia. Currently I'm running a 550 GTX and its hooked up to my 1080p tv. What card do you suggest for around $350?

I was leaning for the 970, but I wasn't sure if there was a better option to go for around that price that I may not have known about. Overall the 970 should be able to play most games at 1080 it seems on high or ultra so I might as well go for that one!

  2. I get it in roughly a month, just put the order in! I don't think I have been more excited to walk out of a dealership than I was today. When I drive off the lot with it, I'll probably be more excited.
  3. Yeah, I kind of agree with FDS, the Civil War should be post Infinity War. I think that means Cap will survive the Civil War. I mean at some point though, 5 movies (Captain America 1-3/Avengers 1&2) with Cap doesn't seem to be too soon to kill off a character but for some reason he still seems new to this whole hero thing.
  4. I thought this was going to be our villain (spoiler possibly from leaked concept art) Source: http://imgur.com/t/star_wars_episode_vii/ZqkWb
  5. http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=56670 Announcement of Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Avengers 3 (being a 2 part movie) Thor 3, Captain America 3, and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Looking really fun actually, and I'm pretty excited. I'm actually nervous that Avengers 3 may actually become one of those movies with too much going on, which we saw what happens when you try to cram too many characters in a movie with Spiderman 3/Amazing Spiderman 2/X-men Last Stand and I'm sure there are others. I hope they manage to keep the cast small even if other characters just make a cameo.
  6. I'm just excited that Avengers 1 not only didn't suck, but was really good. I hope Age of Ultron can capture that same success, and the teaser here looks really good so hopefully its great!
  7. Thank you for that, but I'm sure you read my ENTIRE post saying that I did something wrong, so I got a disk to make sure I had everything right. Just because it's there doesn't mean that my download isn't corrupted, when I burned the media I did something wrong, or even during the installation. I don't know what I did, but it installed a corrupted version, forcing me to have to re-install. I even downloaded the ISO off of a Microsoft support page.

    Apple

I upgraded my work laptop to Yosemite. It is very pretty and pleasing to the eye, but also this finally a really forward feeling OS. So far I really like it, everything between my phone, ipad and laptop all work as if they were one unit, its pretty great.
  9. I had the iso that was free and it didn't work (something I did wrong), so I asked my IT if they had a spare disk I could borrow just to make sure. Long story short, got it to work and I am happy again.
  10. OK, so I got a proper windows 7 64 bit installation disk, reformatted my hard drive, and chose the hard drive to install on.... I never got an option as to if I want to install the 64 bit or not, I hope this works. Does windows still say under computer "windows 7 x64" when you look at system properties? That'll be the first thing I look at and hopefully thats what happens. I'm pretty much at a loss as to what else I could be doing wrong that would prevent games like BF from allowing me to play in full graphics (or at least higher graphics). When I had the 32 bit OS the options were greyed out and I couldn't change them. I'll check back in later tonight and update... if I'm not putting my fist through the fucking wall.
  11. Mad Max... I think putting it under OK is only because I feel like with the amount of praise it has, I probably didn't watch it correctly. It spent more than 3/4 of the film setting up the plot that happened less than 20 minutes. If I hadn't known before I watched it that it was supposed to be post apocalyptic I would've just thought it was an outrageous action film with no real time setting. I also thought that the plot was mostly non existent. Maybe I'll watch it again sometime, but I think I'm just going to move forward and see what Mad Max 2 and Battledome have to offer.
  12. Knight and Day was a perfect comeback movie for the guy. It wasn't the best movie, but it featured a crazy older spy played by Tom Cruise. Made me feel like maybe there is room for his zaney scientoligist personality.
  13. I think you're right FDS, but at the same time I can't think of a good time to remove the 32 bit system. If not Win 10, then Win 11? When ever Microsoft decides to do it, they're going to have to alienate a specific audience. Although thats part of the problem with Microsofts business plan, they don't control the hardware so they have to rely on software sales, where Apple can get away with changing their OS to 64 bit only because there is no chance that someone will ever buy a new 32 bit computer.
  14. Not to mention that if you aren't buying a new computer, then maybe you don't NEED the new OS. They may want it, but when you consider that XP had a life span of a bajillion years, 7 will probably have a similar lifespan, and 8.x will still be able to run the Modern apps, there will be no need to really upgrade your OS unless you get a new computer. Upgrading from 8 to 10 will be purely a want rather than a need. I'm pretty much OK with Windows requiring a 64 bit for Windows 10, it makes sense to do so now. I don't believe that new OSes should be accessible to all computers either, because once we start catering to the bottom of the spec sheet the ability to move forward is on a leash and can only go so far. I'm also really bitter though because I can't seem to make the 64bit iso install the 64 bit version on my computer.
  15. Well from my understanding is that the penis is basically a muscular tube. We have been making progress in muscle reconstruction for a small amount of time, so I think they applied what they learned to the penis. I have no doubt that in the next 50 years (most likely all of our lifespan) we will see people recoup missing limbs. It may just be a robotic hand controlled like a normal hand, or a hand like Luke Skywalker that is indistinguishable from real limbs, or possibly limbs grown in a lab that have been transplanted. I've had this conversation with my friend over and over, I would GIVE my arm for a robot arm, if that robot arm could feel and be controlled like my natural arm. I wouldn't worry about anything, because I have a robot arm.
  16. I just was about to post a different article regarding the same thing. Its amazing! I don't have a penis problem, but what if one day somebody shoots my dick off? Well no need to worry Madbassman, we can grow you one in 3 weeks, and you'll have a new one! Seriously, the advancement of being able to grow new parts of your body once they have been damaged or lost is amazing!
  17. During the announcement of Nvidia's new laptop gpu, I noticed in the comments people are very anti gaming laptop... Why? wouldn't you want a smaller gaming computer?

^ That. Plus they're typically much harder to upgrade, which means they go obsolete fast.

eh, all laptops go obsolete and/or dead fast.

Gaming laptops go obsolete even faster though, because the requirements are stricter.

  18. When I found out last night that it was my version of windows I thought I looked into. I have almost no understanding of why a 32bit would still need to be out in the wild. Either way, I have to do the whole re-install windows thing and I'm not happy about that.
  19. I think this thread should be renamed "PCs for dummies like Madbassman39" because I found out last night I accidentally installed windows 32 bit instead of 64 bit when I had my computer crash two months ago... You can all point and laugh at me. All of my games haven't had an issue so far, but then again I haven't been playing anything that amazing lately except for Farcry which has no problem running at the highest settings on 32bit. I only found out because I was playing BF4 for the second time this week and realized "my graphics are turned all the way down" and I couldn't make them look better because I didn't have access to change my graphics. One google search later it said "you have to have windows 64 bit to play the game at higher detail". Well thats no problem, I should have 64 bit... noooope. So now I have to re-install windows on my desktop. I am a dummy.
  20. I actually really didn't like that teaser. It barely showed us anything of the movie and had an arrogant feel saying "well we've made good movies in the past, so trust us"
  21. I've been patiently waiting to buy my car and today I was pre-approved for my loan... Now its the dealerships turn to wow me!

God, I hated dealing with dealerships. They can be such asshats when negotiating. At least the ones down here.

I'm nervous about going to the dealerships, but hopefully my friends friend will hook me up. I'm also buying a car that is new off production, so I have to negotiate just to get it down to MSRP

  22. That icon I think does replace the charms bar based off of what I've seen. The charms bar is still there but they are keeping that mostly for tablet users I read. I think you have the option to full screen apps through that icon so they act like the Metro apps of Win 8. My biggest concern for installing on my laptop is that I bought it because I wanted a multi-touch mouse tracker. I made the mistake of buying an ASUS that uses ASUS software to make the mouse pad multitouch instead of just being native to windows. I hope that they eliminate that need on new computers and that if they do ASUS will at least keep the software up to date :/
  23. Quick Fantasy Football Question: I was offered a trade to receive Reggie Wayne and Reggie Bush for my players Andre Ellington and Roddy White. I am currently in last place and not sure if this is the best deal. Any suggestions?

I have no other Reggies. I wouldn't mind having a Team Reggie. I am right now called the Master Chef's which I made a t-shirt to wear around work... only problem is I suck.

  25. I almost feel bad for the developers on Hardline. They are under this incredible pressure from EA to push out a new BF that already has to fight the negative opinions based off of the the BF4 launch with a game that is essentially a BF4 mod. People already are willing to discount their work no matter how good it is. I probably won't buy it and I've owned almost all the battlefields thus far (minus the console only Modern Combat and Bad Company 1)
