I really hate to say this, Fred, but as somebody that's played Battlefield for years, that sounds all too familiar. When a mode is based around essentially taking all points so you can spawncamp your enemy, and a game requires teamplay like Starhawk does, that kind of steamrolling is inevitable. I'm not sure if Starhawk has a server browser or custom servers at all, but I'd recommend shopping around until you find a good one and then just playing that one when you can.

You need Operation Arrowhead, the expansion, as well. And be wary, ARMA 2 takes some good hardware to run, if that's a problem.

The problem I've always had with source is that it's optimized great for lower hardware, but pretty poorly for higher end hardware. When I upgraded my computer I expected all the studdering and menu freezes in TF2 and Portal 2 to just go away, but nope, that's just part of the engine. If anything, that's what I'd like to see Valve work on.

I don't understand where you're getting this from. The whole last two pages or so where you and Battra have been talking like quality of life measurements are shit because they factor in people with less money than you. Could you have missed the point more entirely? I had nothing to do with factoring in poor people. It has to do with factors like "public transportation" have no effect on the lives of a vast majority of people in many areas. The point is that in your universal healthcare and public transit examples, you've not only come across as completely condescending to people who ride public transit or advocate universal healthcare, but also keep flipflopping on what this abstract thing called "the point" is to suit your own examples.

Well this is the most ignorant thing I've read all day. Not really, which do you prefer, to ride on a bus or to drive your own car? There's tons of areas in Texas with no public transportation. That doesn't mean everyone is broke. Most of those rural areas people have lots of land and nice trucks. Hate to break it to you, but those areas without public transportation would probably be pretty shitty places to grow up. I can't tell you how boring my high school years would have been without public transportation, and that's coming from someone who lives in a rural area with 3-4 buses coming home each day. EDIT: I'm just trying to say there's more to public transportation than "poor people use it".

Quoting my own post from approximately 6 months ago, the set of Monster earbuds I bought back in October died about 2 weeks ago. So I caved and bought this pair of Ultimate Ear's from Amazon, as they're really one of the only large headphone brands that I haven't tried yet. If they survive longer than the 8 months an old set of Thinksounds did, they'll be the new record holder.

On that note, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a UI overhaul for Steam, sort of like there was a few years ago. IMO, it could use a bit of refinement, and a few different "viewing profiles" could work well for the rumored big screen view.

Believe it or not, not every politician waffles like John Kerry. Or John McCain, or Sarah Palin, or Mitt Romney, or Rick Santorum, or Newt Gingrich, or Ronald Reagan, or Richard Nixon, or... the list goes on and on. Just went and re-listened to it. Last time I went to the page it was just a "Hi, I'm Gabe Newell" soundfile, which is why I was skeptical. But yeah, this is... strange.
