  1. Steam release on the 22nd and pre-purchase up now. I'm excited.
  2. What headphones do you have now? I will gladly test that out if they're earbuds.
  3. What on earth are your friends doing to their headphones? As someone who buys a new pair every 1-5 months, I have no idea. They just break a lot.
  4. I don't think so, but they haven't made a straight point and click since, and that really is their bread and butter. I didn't particularly like JP, and I can't stand most point and clicks, so I'm a bit biased, but I think the issue is just that they're not really making the same games as they used to, in more than just quality.
  5. I think "Marauder Shields and the Three Husketeers"" is sort of funny, but I'm mostly with you here.
  6. I played through the Jurassic Park game which was not very good, and then part of the Back to the Future one which was terrible, so I'm quite skeptical of your claim that this one is really good. Trust me, I was surprised too. Telltale hasn't exactly had the best track record lately, but I really enjoyed this one, even though I didn't really expect to. The mechanics may still be take it or leave it, as it's really about the story, but I thought the story in this one was worlds better than Jurassic Park or BTTF. Even for someone who hasn't read the comics or watched the TV show.
  7. If/when I end up getting it, it'll be on PS3.
  8. Bought and played through Ep1. It's actually really good. I'm not a fan of point and click adventures, but this feels really good as the logical evolution of them.
  9. Eeeew. I'd just stain + varnish them myself. I think paint on stuff like that looks crappy.
  10. Valve will not announce anything. Wait, that's not how this works, is it?
  11. Jumping on the Death Grips bandwagon. I'll steal one of the youtube comments for this one, but it's a pretty good description.
  12. For those that have it, the SSX Tricky DLC is out. It's actually quite a bit of fun.

  13. What's so special about it? It will be the same as previous CoDs with minimal deviations. I just hope the map design will be better than in blops. I'm mostly interested in the new setting. The gameplay will likely (and hopefully) be the same, but I'm sort of interested to see how they pull of future weaponry while still keeping to the COD roots of having loads and loads of guns.
  14. Please don't tell that to your kids. You may die before the real consequences of global warming begin to take hold, but it's a problem that their generation will have to face head-on and I don't feel like the future of our planet should be so casually shoved under the rug.
  15. Well, got into the beta via some guy on reddit. Anyone playing it? I figure there's not much content at the moment, but could still be semi-fun to get into a game and be bored together.
  16. I kinda like that about all of these videos. The guy narrating actually seems really excited about the game. If you're going to do a dev diary, might as well sound enthused.
  17. I can see the posts now. "How do I exit the Portal 2 steam workshop thingy? I pushed the X but the window only went away! Help!" Perhaps that's not final, though. I just think it'd be nice to have an in-game browser for that type of thing rather than having to use the overlay.
  18. ARMA 2 just has the best mods. I've played some DayZ at night, and it's sort of the scariest thing ever. If anyone has ARMA 2 we should totally get an event together.
  19. I played the demo of this about a week ago and totally forgot to post my thoughts here... Anyway, it's pretty good. It took me a little while to get used to the controls and how the L2 and R2 buttons act as modifiers on the main buttons, but I found myself really liking the combat, even if it was a little easy. The health never returning to 100% after you get injured is a nice touch as well, and might make the more wide open parts of the full game feel a bit more difficult, at least. The only problem I have is that the actual RPG mechanics feel a little thin, or, well, almost nonexistant. I know it's just a demo, but I would've loved to see at least a bit of inventory management or a skill tree. Also, the voice acting is pretty grating. From what I've played of the demo, doesn't seem like it's something I'll buy on release, but definitely color me interested.
  20. I'm an Nvidia guy so I'd pick up a 580 on the (relatively) cheap nowadays if I had the money for it. With the 680 and 690 series just coming out, the 580 should be at a pretty low price point and can still handle more than anything you can throw at it. The 680 is slightly better than the 580, I know, but coming from a 550Ti, it's like moving from a go-kart to a sports car anyway. No need to spend any extra for a (maybe) nicer sports car.
  21. Ahh, then I wouldn't worry about a cooler if you don't plan on OCing. The stock Intel one will do you fine The thing about Z68 boards is that they boast something called "ssd caching" that P67 boards don't. The thing is, SSD caching is really one of the few things Z68 boards do that P67 boards don't, so I almost always recommend P67 boards unless you're getting an SSD.
  22. Nice build. I was going to berate you for getting a Z68 motherboard at first, but then I realized you got an SSD, so it made sense. Have you thought about a aftermarket CPU cooler, though? I noticed you went for the 2500K rather than the 2400, and if you're going to be overclocking much you may want to look into something like the CM Hyper 212+.
  23. I added you, Sixrocket, and I'll probably send you a request later in the week, Malicious. I've really been enjoying the game so far, been playing since closed beta every once and a while. Username is Luftwaffles if anyone else is playing.
  24. This came up on a TGS podcast a while back, and while I think a licensed game based on the Yogscast is a neat idea, "Yogventures" is just a terrible name for a game. It's probably only a game that they'll market to their fans anyway, but if you show someone who has no idea who the Yogscast are, "Yogventues" isn't exactly going to grab someone and bring them in.
