Well this is my first playthrough. If it wasn't for me hearing how tough this game is I would have started on the second hardest difficulty, but since I have and have died a couple of times already I am playing on normal. I don't get bragging rights, but it's weird how it fluctuates from easy fights to that one battle that utterly obliterates you. example: creatures hurt my health WAY too much. I fought a couple of ghosts/spectres with swords and they could kill easily kill me in 4-5 hits if I wasn't careful.

Yeah by this play-time amount in the Witcher Geralt had fucked everything that moves. I'm enjoying the tie-ins with the novels [i read them in spanish] so I'm all "Hey! I read about that!" I wish there were more creatures in the game so far though. And yeah I'm playing on the 360. I think I've done every interesting sidequest about now, just recently made myself a cool hooded armor. It's funny how the game difficulty greatly depends on how many enemies are attacking you. If it's a few the game is ridiculously easy. Add a couple more and it's "DODGE SHIT DODGE, SWING ONCE, SHIT BITCH DODGE DODGE!". Really enjoying it though. I'm hoping there are more hooded armors in the other chapter. I love the look of Geralt with hooded armor.

The problem with Awakening for me is that it gave me the impression the story of DAO dealing with Morrigan and the mom wouldn't be tossed aside by the next title. Then DA2 came out and it was all DAO spoilers below I mean what was the fucking point of telling me this whole story with Morrigan if we were gonna toss it aside afterwards in favor of Hawke? I hope DA3 at least attempts to tie in Dragon Age Origins with DA2.

I'm early into Chapter 1 [doing side missions] and enjoying the game. I'm only playing on normal but can already see what some people were talking about difficulty. I'm only playing in normal and once in a while I find myself surrounded by Nekkers in the woods and could easily get obliterated if it wasn't for Quen. Anybody know how Quen gets better in the enhanced edition? I haven't upgraded Quen yet, but I can only get hit once before it disappears and I am forced to go back and recast it.

Couldn't hold off any longer and started playing today when I should've been studying for my exam tomorrow. SHIT. The good news is I can wake up early and study all day since the exam isn't until 7 pm. I'll study the whole day.

I hope CDProjekt starts releasing new games on consoles. They're the main reason I want a PC and would save me loads of money if they did.

And by consoles I mean next-gen obviously. Though they won't be as graphically advanced as PC's, they should still have a decent amount of Oomph for them to work with

Ok for those who are somewhat veterans in this game. Any tips you can give me? I've heard too many things about this game being hard to attempt anything beyond normal on the first playthrough. Keep in mind that apparently the Quen [?] spell has been nerfed so telling me to put all my points on that wouldn't be as obvious as before. From what I see in the other recommendations, I should focus on blade and magic. Some people don't recommend I put points on parry but what do you guys think?

There's not a gameplay video, but they do have a video where they show early in-game graphics and locations. The neo-victorian thing is starting to grow on me [and my penis] and the art direction on some of the enemies/targets is very cartoony.

Hadn't heard about this game till I saw the trailer earlier today. Looks interesting to say the least. Apparently the devs have worked on some pretty decent titles [even read they worked on Bioshock 2]. If true, Bioshock's 2 gameplay was far superior to the first and story-wise they didn't have much playing room so this time they should. As far as the trailer goes, I'm interested in an assassin game in this dystopian future. If it's open world even better.

Cabin in the Woods is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend it.

FLD if you can trust me on something trust me on this. The final 15-20 minutes of the film had my friends and I crying of brutal horror random laughter. It is worth the ticket price alone.

Yeah, I've wanted to see this movie for a while (I think it was shot in like 2010 and took forever to come out?) because it's co-written by Joss Whedon and I heard VERY good things about the script. But the first trailer I saw made me go "what the fuck" and I decided to go on media black out until I saw it because what little I did see made the movie look utterly insane and I wanted to go in blind. Really looking forward to tonight

A game can be highly damaged if it's hard to remember the name from the top of your head and you have no fucking clue how to pronounce it. Notch could've called it something and then use the above as a subtitle. I would prefer "Asstastic booty Man Walrus: 0x10c" that way everybody has an easier time in remembering the name

Pretty much. Microsoft says that everytime it fucks over a first-party developer or loses an exclusive. Which isn't many times seeing how everybody and their mums at this point is making multiplat games. Sony has the advantage of actually owning first party studios or having long-term contracts with them.

@Ethan: there lies the problem. The brilliant aspect of the game was its multiplayer. I can't think of many games where the single player is practically made where co-op adds more to the experience. I played the co-op with my cousin and just imagine two people in a car, running everything over and actually planning out how to storm bases and crap or beat bosses and crap like that. Once my cousin got rid of Borderlands, I stopped playing it as the singleplayer by itself is like playing Diablo II/an MMO by yourself. It can be done but it's not nearly as fun. If I had played Borderlands I by myself I too would have only seen the game as ok.

I'm honestly quite surprised. I thought practically everybody loved Borderlands. And I wouldn't take Duke Nukem Forever into account here. That game was practically all done and they literally didn't touch anything to keep it like the original vision

Looks interesting and I've heard good things, but the Alien brand seems to have a horrible luck with video games [and Predators]. So I'll remain cautious.
