  1. Knock Knock. Whos' there? Tim. Tim Who? Tim fell on his knees and proceeded to cry as his grandmother's Alzheimer's reached the point where she couldn't even recognize him.

haha jk. I actually recently read an article in io9 how scientists found a component/chemical in lab mice that could eventually fight alzheimer's apparently.

Wasn't there a documentary made on a significant breakthrough towards curing Alzheimer's years ago? Something about experiments with sharks? I think it was narrated by Samuel L. Jackson.

A SHARK ATE ME. A FUCKING SHARK ATE ME.

  2. If Bioware wants to do DA3 right, let somebody else handle it. Nah just kidding [such a silly goose] I'll play it. But DA2 was basically a set-up for DA3 so I expect a full map of Orlais in DA3. I didn't read the article, but I'm gonna go ahead and assume it'll take place in Orlais since they've mentioned it for so long and the recurring characters of the game [ENCHANTMENT] said they'll be going to Orlais in DA2 soooooo...
  3. Wow. That actually would've made a hell of a difference of my opinion on Ashley. Before that, she just seemed like an up-n-coming dog of the military who was confused at just about everything that went on around her and never trusted me completely. If this had been there, I would have maybe brought her along with me more. But then again this was one conversation and I've played the game, the rest of the conversations with her were just constant nagging.

Revanchist, you died from neglect towards the angry nerd inside of you. By still talking about Star Wars in a positive light, your body slowly putrefied from the inside.

    3. TheRevanchist

      TheRevanchist

Damn! I thought I would die of something fun, like pill(ow) fighting with LiLo.

Is it sad I thought of this?

  5. What do you think is the average cost of building a decent gaming PC? Nothing super fucking fancy, just enough to play games at a medium/high setting [not necessarily max]?

  6. If not him, I hear Limp Bizkit would take that opportunity.
  7. I didn't know your hero was a poster. But why are you standing in front of him? That's quite rude
  8. I prefer Xzibit saying it. At least he's not trying to make art out of bullshit.
  9. Holy shit Game of Thrones has spoiled me. I've only read 2/5 books, but now every other novel seems extremely short haha. I'm like "what the fuck I'm already 25% of the way through this? This wouldn't be 5% of a GoT novel"

I kind of agree with Chewie on this one. When referring to the books, I think 'A Song of Ice and Fire' is more appropriate. At the least refer to it as the Ice and Fire series. It avoids the confusion of "Did you read A Game of Thrones?" "Yeah! I finished it!" "Wasn't it great when !%^&$££$$£"£%$%££$$!" "What?! That didn't happen!!"

    4. Chewblaha

      Chewblaha

Exactly. Like that scene in the book where Grey Wind is actually possessed by Ned Stark?

  10. So the five books in the Witcher novel haven't been translated to english, but they have for practically every other language. So I guess I'm reading them in spanish.

    1. TheMightyEthan

      TheMightyEthan

Are they written at a preschool-to-kindergarten level? Cause that's the only way I could hope to read them in any language other than English.

Hahahaha no. You'll have more luck with Dr. Seuss

  11. What Jimmuh said. That statement was made literally RIGHT after we were first discussing the Indoctrination theory. Hypocrisy? Maybe, but let's be honest here Bioware has given us plenty of that already.
  12. Honestly it doesn't matter what Bioware does at this point, I've lost all love for them. I'll continue to rent their games.
  13. I'm not even kidding here. I've seen so many alternate endings and theories over the ending, I'm already tired of it. I was just having my ME3 period. I'll see what the announcement is on the 6th and if it's an expanded ending of some sort I'll get it, if not I'm moving on with my life and hold Bioware at a lower standard than I used to have them [used to be fav game developer. Will go down to "good game developer"]
  14. So Robin story based DLC? Cool. I'm guessing it'll be like Catwoman's and show what he did when he met up with Batman and slightly afterwards
  15. Has anybody here read the Witcher short stories/novels? I'm thinking of starting on them once I finish John Dies at the End

The actual revelation of what the witcher's "last wish" was made me LOL hard. I hope that's not to spoilery.

Two great books so far in English, the third is scheduled for this year.

  16. Huh it's weird to see how 3/5 of the guys there I'm subscribed to. I also had no idea Jax was tittie chewbacca or that Ross was such a handsome fellow.
  17. I'M RIDING SOLO. I'M HAN SOLO. I'M HAN SOLO

It's in your head too? I was singing it aloud today, I just couldn't stop myself. I am a terrible human being.

Just give in. Feel the groove!

  18. 1/4th of the way through "John Dies at the End". It's like a hybrid between the Evil Dead, Big Trouble in Little China and Ghostbusters. Interesting. I mean if there's a book where a dog dies a car, you know it's a good book

The humor? From what I have read it's not clever it's just funny. You've already established your distaste for the author so maybe your opinion was biased to begin with?

    3. SixTwoSixFour

      SixTwoSixFour

Hang on. Reading something and not liking it makes me biased? Your logic, it is not logical.

I'd never read the man's stuff before reading this book, and I'd never heard of him before. I had no bias toward him going into the book. You liked it. That's fine. I didn't. I thought it was worth providing a second opinion for people. Now, if you'd kindly ease off on the attack, I'd appreciate it.

    4. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

No you've got me wrong. I thought you had said you didn't like him beforehand hence why i said it was you being biased. A misunderstanding

  19. Just Finished Neil Gaiman's American Gods. Definitely an excellent read, cannot wait for the sequel.

    1. MasterDex

      MasterDex

I found it very hard to get through American Gods. It's always meandering off. Good book though.

    2. Harri

      Harri

It's a great book. Read Anansi Boys too, a side story in the same universe.

    3. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

      Anansi Boys is great.

  20. I'm actually enjoying watching FMA Brotherhood again with my bros. It'll have to do till good anime starts coming out again

  21. The finale was written by Casey Hudson and one other person, and it is different from the original intent of Dark Energy by the original writer. Those that write the codex entries and lore are not remotely on the same group as those that wrote this ending. In fact the ending all this time was going to be the one by the original writer, but it was changed at the last second to this other stuff. So yeah they may have hinted at this topic through a planet entry before, it doesn't make it any less shitty as the Reapers had always claimed their intent and mission was too complicated for organics to understand.
  22. When does the Wire start turning into "the best drama on tv"? So far it's good and well written, but I fail to see why it's better than everything else. I'm in ep 6 or so of season 1

Can't say I've seen those, but heard good things. The Wire is just so fuckin' clever and has so many brilliant characters without compromising its own 'feel' of authenticity.

Alternatively, just watch old re-runs of Sliders for some AAA television

  25. So I saw a full walkthrough of I am Alive. I gotta say, I'm glad I paid for Alan Wake instead. The game is not bad, it just looks really frustrating in terms of game mechanics and controls.

    1. SomTervo

      SomTervo

The atmosphere and adventure is really good. The game mechanics suffer a lot from being forced into a small scale, it becomes really trial and error without a good simulation to back them up. The main problem with the game is that it should have been a full retail release, then this wouldn't have been an issue :/
