  1. http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2012/03/12/how-bioware-could-find-redemption-using-mass-effect-3/ So Kotaku is calling Bioware fans whiny [without finishing the game themselves] and Forbes is supporting us? WHAAAAAAA

Which from all the comments from those unhappy with the ending (including the spoilers I've read) doesn't seem to be true.

Dean: nlm is me flipping you off.

@Thursday: The issue isn't that there's a paragon/renegade choice at the end, it's that the consequences of that choice are almost completely unaffected by any previous choices you made. My renegade shep could have the same exact ending scene as my paragon shep if they made the same choice at the end, and that is stupid. Hell, even if they make different choices the end is still almost the same. By not having your previous actions...

By not having your previous actions affect the outcome Bioware really dropped the ball on the whole "it's your story" aspect, which is what they were hyping the whole damn time.

Also, in the Mass Effect thread Dean outlined some endings to ME3 that I think would have been much better.

  2. I'm sure you can find it used for consoles now at a gamestop for like 40 or 45. Steam though, it might take a while. But cowboy word of warning: this game is nothing groundbreaking. If you've played MMO-like single player RPG's before, you'll enjoy this. it is REALLY well done, but nothing groundbreaking.
  3. I think the winter space and tali's photoshop are the two blatant rip-off's people have found. Maybe there's more, but no others that have become known internet-wide. And yeah Ethan. Bioware did cheese and HUGE inspirations from Star Wars and other cliches. And then they decided to be this 'what the fuck' ending. If there was one thing people wanted the cheese for, it was the ending. Please look at Stephen King's Dark Tower series. It went to hell when he was forced to write a shitty ending. And he wrote it out of spite. In fact Stephen King is a great example of a series or books with what the fuck endings.
  4. Yes Dean. I would have preferred a Star Wars ending. Is it really much to ask? If you're gonna go with cheese Bioware, go with classy cheese. also Dean you forgot one part for the best ending
  5. TBH I want to see the direction of the music and the story/campaign. The talent they hired was specifically designed for making the campaign as best as possible. I WANNA SEE. CAN YOU SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW ME.
  6. Yeah I really hope this doesn't follow Battlefield 3's most played maps/DLC in terms of losing your core gameplay and focusing on a MW clone.
  7. What do you mean? As in they're stuck in your menu? Because if so, I have some shit in my inventory that can't leave [like a specific armor set I supposedly sold]. Or do you mean there are so many you don't want to deal with them?
  8. Circle of Poo: I'm the Poo of Bioware's ending. That gets fed to the fans. Who spew out the shit in anger, and blame it all on the man. Who to not lose anymore money, waters down the game even more. And then sells the new one to people, who buy it like fucking whores.

Why buy when you can pirate?

I didn't buy lolz I rented. And while I usually keep the title, like Kingdomss of Amalur, this one is going STRAIGHT back to gamefly.

  9. elev3n: @Johnny: I actually thought the game was decent, maybe the best, until it was obvious your choices didnt matter worth of shit. They could've put a little bit more work into character development, but some characters got more than their fair share of development [Garrus to name one].
  10. there really is no best ending. There's only one ending where and I mentioned it above.
  11. That's not it at all Cowboy. I wish it was something cheesy and lame. alas....
  12. Just beat the game, around 40 hours. I gotta say, I can see the problem with the endings. I mean if they were hinting at a sequel then yeah fuck it. But let's be reasonable here people. The people at Bioware tried their fucking hardest My problem deals more with what everybody else is saying. All the decisions we made, all the big talk about how big relationships were in the games, and none of it mattered. When you end a trilogy, you need to end it with a good resolution. Not a "hey, shit might happen next lololololz" resolution. And that's where Bioware fucked up. No resolution whatsoever and nothing we did mattered much at the end. Horrible ending in terms of a video game. If this were the second in a movie trilogy it wouldnt matter but as it is? Bullshit.
  13. By the time infiltrator comes out for the android it'll be far too late for me as I'll have returned ME3 by then, so fuck it I'm gonna go through with the ending and hope I can survive. will let you guys know how it goes since I've done absolutely everything in the singleplayer.
  14. You know it's actually quite funny. All Bioware has to do is to come out and say "Hey guys. We fucked up. The ending is anticlimactic, and we lied about easily being able to get all the war assets necessary without playing multiplayer. In this case, multiplayer DOES actually harm you if you don't play it since your assets are cut in half. What's that? We could've made the EMS a 100, then multiplayer add to this? No don't be ridiculous." They have to admit their fault with the DLC. I don't give a shit if it's DLC, but give it free to people who bought the game, ala Cerberus Network. But no, admitting they fucked up with the DLC, ending and multiplayer would require them to be humble and human. And at this point, they have it in their big fat fucking head by sniffing their own ass that they are the best game makers out there and whatever they do is perfect. They can suck a dick. I even bought Dragon Age Fucking II when it came out and thought to myself "hey, at least they can't fuck up Mass Effect 3" All you had to do Bioware. ALL you had to do, Was not fuck over the singleplayer when you added multiplayer. And you managed to do that. Good fucking luck with life. Any other game you make, I'll work my hardest to not fucking buy.
  15. Ok so I am starting to see why people keep saying that the points are utter bullshit when it comes to Effective Military Strength. I have done EVERY SIDE MISSION. Scanned every planet, had more than enough paragorn points to choose those options, and gotten every effective alliance save one in the beginning where they basically ask you to fuck over someone else. Right now, without the ability of playing multiplayer or buying the ioS game I stand at around 3200 EMS at my current point in the game. I've done every N7 mission and there is literally no way in fucking hell I can get the 1500 points necessary to get 4000 points. What I want to know is why the fuck did keeping the collector's base not have any effect on my total war assets? That should give me at least a couple of hundred points so where is it? If somebody else kept it, am I simply not seeing it in the list? Or do its assets become obvious after the certain spoiler I mentioned above?
  16. My friend and I just watched one of the Louis CK specials on netflix. Holy shit we hadn't laughed for so long and so consistently for a while.

    1. Strangelove

      Strangelove

By far the best comedian around nowadays. ALL of his specials are worth watching. His show Louie is awesome too. Get to it.

My friend and I decided to watch Louie at some point, but we're gonna watch his second special today most likely.

I watched one of his ones of Netflix recently too, he is fantastic, I'd klll to see him live!

  17. Ah. Nevermind then. I apologize. Well if they do have that opinion, it won't matter since it's an opinion expressed by many customers as well..
  18. THAT'S NOT THE POINT. If everybody else is complaining it is fine. I complain then all of a sudden "no fuck you, you don't get an opinion?" Please leave that elitist bullshit out of the way. I've kept PLENTY of games from renting them, like Dean has mentioned, but won't be keeping this one due to principles. So your argument is " I bought it I don't give a fuck?" That's a shitty mentality. What about those that did buy it but don't want to be forced to play the multiplayer? Their opinion matters right? So don't focus on my complaints as me complaining because I didn't buy the title. Edit: Hell by that logic, you'd argue that what Rocksteady did with the catwoman content is a-ok. it's not. It's convenient to you because it doesn't affect you, doesn't make it right and that is what the argument is. It's not like I pirate the fucking games, I pay for a service and keep the game if it's worth the price. But blocking singleplayer content or fucking you over isn't right, doesn't matter who is complaining.
  19. Yeah Ethan, PLENTY of people in the Bioware forum, who lick Bioware's ass on every turn, and have bought the game, are also complaining. So no, regardless of what you think of renters you can't justify what they did based on that. I wouldn't have played multiplayer or 7 fucking bucks for the ioS game regardless if I had bought it.
  20. Like I'm saying, shaft in the fucking ass
  21. So apparently, there is practically no way to get above an active military strength [aka not total war assets, active] without playing multiplayer and it is pissing a lot of people off. People like me. I rented the game, I can't play the multiplayer so no matter what I can't get the best ending because my galactic readiness will always stay at 50%. Isn't that awesome? I can't get the 4000 points to have the work-for-it best ending or the 5000 to have the guaranteed best ending I've heard that if you're close enough to 4000 you can still get the good ending, but whether it's the best ending will have to be seen.
