  1. Damn, you folk are good at this. Your turn.
  2. "You're a lucky, lucky, lucky little boy. 'Cause you know why? You get to drink from the FIRE HOOOOOSE!"
  3. Dr. Strangelove (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb) I fucking love that movie.
  4. I'm afraid I really can't agree with this assessment, Toshi. I have never heard ANYONE complain about XII being open world, for one. Two, I thought the battle system was interesting, but I thought XIII's was better, actually. Not sure which battle system I like best out of all the FFs, but it's either X-2 or XIII. Character wise, I loved Lightning... but Hope? Hope was NOT like other characters. There were NOT characters that spent the entire time bitching about how they shouldn't even be there. He gets better, later on, but it takes hours and hours for that to happen. There are characters in FF's history that feel like they're being dragged into things, but at least they do something other than squeal about it. And though most of XII's characters were quite likable, fucking Vaan was obnoxious as shit. Take a chill pill, son. Jesus.
  5. Well done, Shepard! Your turn!
  6. "Simple" is a dirty word when it comes to final bosses =P
  7. "Boy, it sure would be nice if we had some grenades, don't you think?!"
  8. Such negativity! I mean, okay. FFXIII was bad. It was quite bad. But... hrm. This is gonna suck, isn't it...?
  9. Shawn of the Deeeead! Good call.
  10. I almost hate to break the suspense- I've had quite a few people ask me what my name meant, and I kind of enjoy the mystery. Alas, like most mysteries, once explained it's really kind of lame. In some work of fiction (honest to god, it was so long ago I don't even remember what, some webcomic or something), there is a man who is texting on his cell. In the middle of his texting, a vending machine falls on top of him. As he is crushed, his fingers accidentally mash and send the message "6264." My friends and I thought it was hilarious, and it came a sort of inside joke with us, taking on a whole other meaning. "6264" meant being so confused that you couldn't even communicate properly. A sort of "what is this I don't even". Now, I just have so many good memories associated with the name that I've stuck with it. It's interesting and distinctive without being blatantly stupid.
  11. So... a sequel to FFXIII! I had heard the whispers, but honestly, I figured they were a bunch of bullshit, so this catches me by complete surprise. How do you guys feel about this? Excited? Wary? Irritated? It seems like it will be a pretty divisive game.... Personally, I'm... wary, I guess. I tried really hard to like FFXIII, and I just couldn't stand it. I did, however like some of the characters- particularly Lightning and Sazh. Lightning is my favorite FF protagonist in a long time, and come to think of it, even one of my favorite JRPG protagonists. I usually don't like the protags, just some of their companions. If they make a lot of changes, if they realize what didn't work about FFXIII... this could be a fantastic game. On the other hand, if they ignore the public reception, and just run with how XIII was, this could be a horrible, horrible mistake. What do you guys think?
  12. I would be the member of the party who turns out to be the real villain. Intro Cutscene The fight would be a nontraditional fight- it would start off like a regular boss fight, but very quickly the party would realize that in an out-and-out fight, they just couldn't possibly win. During this fight, they would determine that my ring was the source of my power, an immensely ancient and powerful magical artifact. Then one of the party members would bust out the Chekov's Gun that they had all forgotten about- a tool that allows them to enter any magical item. It was the solution to a plot point early in the game, and hasn't been used since. All of the party would enter the ring except for the Hero- the group inside the ring's job would be to disrupt the ring's power for just a moment, long enough for the Hero to deliver a killing strike in the real world. The fight, therefore, would be two-part- on the one hand, you have the party inside the ring, trying to damage the ring in a battle against its raw power. On the other hand, you have the protagonist, who is one-on-one against me, and just trying to survive long enough for the party to do what was necessary. Inside the ring, it would be a three-phase boss. First phase would simply be a representation of me (though less powerful than the real me), second would be the previous master of the ring, and third would be the man who created the ring, long ago... finally, the party would beat all three forms, the representations of all three bearers of the ring, and the Hero would get his chance, and run me through with his sword. Defeat Scene
  13. Okay, there are going to be two parts to this post. One, why Capcom put her in, and two, why you should love her. Why Capcom put her in? MvC is their platform to push characters that they want to be popular. C. Viper is a pretty new character (debuted in SF4) that they are very happy with, and they want her to become a fan favorite. Also, she is an incredibly popular character among pro players- the way she plays is just completely unlike any other character. There are a lot of professional C. Viper players, and her inclusion will make them happy. And why should you love her? 1) She's a single mom, and a GOOD one. She talks to her young daughter in between matches (one of her intros that we've seen in MvC3 is her jumping onto the stage while on the phone, and gently explaining that "Sorry, mommy's at work." It is super cute), and it's completely adorable. There are very, very few single moms in video games. 2) Her playstyle. She's a combo maniac based on fakeouts and mind games- it's deliciously fun, once you get used to it. 3) She's actually a decent character, backstory-wise. She's a member of the CIA investigating the machinations of Bison and Seth and all that, and in order to do so in a manner that wouldn't get her IMMEDIATELY shot in the face, she masquerades as a scientist wanting to get battle data on her new "Battle Suit." 4) ...She can taser people in the balls/cooch. You gotta love it.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEx0jPAGA-s Man, I miss Q. He was a deliciously bizarre terror. If he made it into MvC3, even as DLC, I would cry tears of joy. It would be MAGNIFICENT.
  15. WHAAAAT Week 2 was the best! Joshua zapping powers + Car teleporting = Awsomeness I'm with the Senior here. Week 2 was definitely the best. The game really hit its stride there... and we got to see lots of everyone's favorite character, Minamimoto! Now I'm trying to remember all the combination attacks to remember which was my favorite. I can still remember all the quotes from starting them =P Shiki and Neku: "Ready to die?" "Then die!" Joshua and Neku: "Follow my lead!" "Screw that!" Beat and Neku: "Pick it up, Phones!" "I'm there!" ...Now I want to play through again.
  16. Showing my nerddom here... but technically, it's Evil Ryu and Violent Ken. Evil Ryu's playstyle is decent, but not all that interesting- somewhere between Ryu and Akuma- but Violent Ken actually plays really interestingly. He's an incredibly fast melee type with powerful combos, I would love to see him brought back. And as for taunt lovers, I know it's not the same, but....
  17. Reversible cover? Dissidia? What are you talking abou- *walks to shelf, pulls off Dissidia* ...HOLY SHIT. When did that happen? My mind is blown.
  18. Actually, I haven't hacked my PSP at all, I was just saying I understood why someone might.
  19. Wow. So, they just announced Akuma and Taskmaster officially, that's not surprising... what IS surprising is how lame Akuma looks. They even gave him a beam hadouken hyper. Now I have to agree with you, Jack. I liked his addition because I figured they would emphasize the DIFFERENCES between the characters, not make them as similar as possible
  20. Yeah, 4 looks great. It really ticked me off that they didn't upgrade the visuals at all for 3, but it was a great game otherwise, so I let it slide. Gotta love the torture room in 4... even though they already censored it. Too bad =3
  21. I own nearly every Disgaea game (still trying to find a reasonably priced copy of Infinite, sadly), and let me tell you, if you haven't played them, you're missing out. Over the top action, comedy, amusing plot and characters, and just so much to do! I really love it. I'm honestly baffled as to which is my favorite- I only very recently got 3, and I like it a LOT, but not being able to play it on the go (I got 1 and 2 for PSP) really puts a dent in my appreciation of the game. It's so much better when I can pop it out whenever there's nothing to do... not just when I have time to sit down in front of my TV. 3 has the best mechanics, of course, 1 has the best story, and 2... well, it has better mechanics than 1, and it's portable. So I really don't know. The Prinny games are a blast, too, even though they totally kick my ass.
  22. I honestly don't seem to run into nearly as many Akumas as Ryus... and nearly as many Ryus as Kens. (Shrug) I don't disbelieve you, I don't know, maybe you're just unlucky. Or maybe my matchmaking recognizes how bored I get with playing shotos.
