  1. That'll probably finish my participation in the Steam sale. Unless someone wants to buy me something....no?
  2. Fez. Too much game for me, I eventually got bored and now I've got no interest in deciphering puzzles any more. So that was fun.
  3. It's probably because your a heartless monster who eats children and kittens for breakfast. Right?
  4. I've completed 14 games this year, and only one of them was released in 2014; Strider. The rest have all been from 2012/13. I'm not sure if that says more about me, or the state of the industry.
  5. I don't tend to cry at video games, not sure why but Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons hit me like a freight train. Special nod to Tearaway, which whilst it didn't make me cry, did make me feel something I've not felt in a video game for a while, a sense of loss that the story was coming to it's conclusion, almost that same feeling you get when you finish a TV series, or a good book.
  6. I've heard the Co-op isn't all its cracked up to be. Fun no doubt, but not the way someone that's trawling a gaming message board would want to play the game. I played it solo and loved it. Playing it with a friend would just lead to frustration, not dissimilar to how i felt about Rayman Legends.
  7. I very much regret buying Strider on PSN now.
  8. It's still up for $73 on amazon.co.uk.
  9. Lone Survivor Surprisingly good. The action set piece in the middle is absolutely brutal, and its the best reason to watch this film. It's maybe a touch long, and could have used a little less...stuff at the end (Village...) but that aside, i 'enjoyed' my time with it.
  10. You might want to hold off on playing Route Zero until they've finished all of the chapters. It was about a 9 month gap between 2 and 3, and I've totally lost the thread.
  11. It saddens me to see people discussing how DICE should bring back Bad Company...and then reference how good BC2 was.

Don't get me wrong it was a fine game, but as a single player sort of guy, the Bad Company campaign was one of my favourites of the previous generation. Engaging, funny, and not too serious.

I'm still a bit bothered by how the AI in BC can snipe with a handgun but yes, amazing campaign. Really sad how they went all serious with BC2. I went in expecting floppery and whim but I came out with something more like a typical shooter campaign.

Exactly. Although I guess I should have expected that based on the box art. We went from a smiley yellow face to a Cod styled marine with saturation issues

  12. I'm willing to give it a chance. Truth be told, I was never a massive Turtles fan growing up, and they've sort of fallen out of my conciousness since i was 6, so i'm willing to give it a go. I fully expect nerds to be up in arms about this if its anything but good.
  13. Aye the hate's mostly because the novel's a really clever thing. Which got simmered into generic Hollywood work. It was written as a bunch of audio interviews, oral history and all that, how it affected random people across the globe in so many different cultures, and had a way more intricate and intelligent breakdown of how the world was affected. No 'cures' or 'masking agents' or anything, just people dealing with trauma and the brutal work of survival. Then the movie's just like "it's Brad, Merica, travel, action, save his family, arbitrary 'save-all masking agent'", etc. Not terrible at all, just misses the point. And for the uninitiated, that's fine. Grand Budapest Hotel was mine. Haven't managed to go to the flicks in weeks. I fucking LOVED that movie. Saw it twice. First Anderson movie which was actually genuinely laugh out loud funny all the way through. I actually think WWZ turned out pretty damned well considering the trainwreck that was it's production. It's certainly not a bad film, and it's one I'll definitely re-visit at some point.
  14. Nerds AND Moms? I love Fillion, and his last role as a super hero was unforgettable. *Dr Horribles Sing Along Blog.
  15. I've not actually played Uncharted 3 yet, and I've sold my PS3. How important is that game in the grand scheme of things?
  16. Picked up Enslaved and Shadowrun Returns via Steam.
  17. Titanfall and its massive 50GB download is currently free (for the weekend) on Origin.

Lol @ FLD. Are you fucking serious? They're offering a 2 day trial (such an original concept) and you're trying that hard to shit on it? This is only a big deal because it's a game you've actually heard of and not shitty indie multiplayer game on steam that's free for a weekend weekend that you'll only buy because it's dirt cheap.

Lol. Really? You think that was shitting on it? I was just making an observation. They're sure as shit not doing this out of the kindness of their hearts and wouldn't be doing it at all if Titanfall was selling as much as they want it to.

@Cowboy I'm getting 40mb down atm, but there was a 3 years stretch (before cable) that i was getting less than 1mbps 90% of the time. It took almost 30 hours to download Max Payne 3 over 3 successive nights. If possible, I'm never moving again.

  18. Whenever I hear people working on a videogame throw around the words 'art' and 'narrative' I find it hard to take them seriously. Even the best video game stories struggle to rise above the level of an average schlocky TV show; and whilst they've got to focus on people actually playing the game, I don't think that's likely to change. Truth be told, whilst I enjoyed Uncharted 1/2, I think it's quality was a little overblown by a public who's desperate to have something they can push into the mainstream as an example of how grown up and sophisticated video games have become. It'll probably be another Uncharted game. We'll run around, gunning down countless bad guys and supernatural....things, enjoy Drake being Drake and probably get frustrated at the number of murder rooms we have to fight through.
  19. Indies are all well and good, but I've played 90% of them on my PC already, and if I've not then chances are they're not that interesting to me, or I can get them for 80% cheaper on the PC. Had I known what I know now about Sony's plans for the Vita going forward, I probably wouldn't have invested. It's a real shame as it's a lovely bit of kit that they've basically decided to stop developing for it as a separate platform, and that's a real shame.
  20. EU only as far as I know. I'm sure it'll pop up on ps+ at some point though.
  21. Just bought FEZ. Super cheap on PSN with cross buy. Not sure if I'm going to play it on Vita or PS4 just yet though. Also Tapatalk won't let me upload photographs..it's annoying.
  22. You're just jealous we won Olympic gold in both men's and women's ice hockey this year. And you've got 7 fantastic NHL teams that are always fighting for championships...
  23. I just couldn't get used to controlling my dude without the mouse when I tried the Vita version. I was finding myself in trouble a few floors into the game, and it put me off. Can't wait for Hotline II however, but that'll definitely be a PC pick-up. Wind Waker HD. I can finally cross this off of my list of shame. Game was pretty fun (I'm not a massive Zelda guy), although they did that annoying thing they seem to do in all Zelda games where they throw boring content in at the end in order to make the game longer. I wish we saw more games in this style. Could you imagine them doing something like this with a mainstream Mario game? I'd be all over that.
