  1. I just couldn't get into Dust. I think it was the art style, it looked nice..i guess? I found the combat quite boring too, that might be less of the games fault and more of my preference though. Gone Home is great though. My first Vita game (and first experience of Uncharted), and i enjoyed it no end. I think i completed it in 2-3 sessions and whilst the bullet sponging is a little annoying at times, i couldn't put it down after half way. Wouldn't say no to another Vita title in this series, maybe with less touch screen though.
  2. Steam - £5 I'm desperate for something to play.
  3. I was going to pre-order there and then, until i saw this.
  4. Doesn't make the team's name sound any less ridiculous.
  5. Steam ID/Wishlist/Country: SteamID // Steam Wishlist // UK Background: Currently an off-cream paint, although that depends on where I'm sitting. General criteria: Single player is key for me. I rarely play multiplayer, and when I do it's not on PC. I'm also not a massive fan of games that, that being said, if its on my Steam Wishlist, I'll be happy. What are your favorite genres? RPG, Platformers (no endless runners), although in all honesty, I'm open to anything. What are your favorite games? The Witcher 2, Gunpoint, KoToR Are you looking for any non-Steam gifts? I've got a few things on iTunes that I'd like to play, but I'd prefer a Steam gift in all honesty.
  6. I kind of think it'd sound better without the City at the end. It's just too much name atm. Like AFC Blackburn Rovers or Manchester City Athletic.
  7. Spelunky - picked it up on the Vita. I can see why someone would like it, but for me it's just not grabbing me. Not sure what it is, but I think it would probably have been a better investment on PC. I simply don't have the friends list for a game like this to really shine on PLaystation. I guess that's not really the games fault though. Gun Commando - a free PS Mobile FPS with an old school sensibility about it. It's free and it plays well enough. I can see myself getting bored at some point, but for now it's giving me my fix of retro FPS Action.
  8. So is refusing to buy a game because it lacks Steam Trading Cards now a thing people do?

People refuse to buy (or even actually bother to play) games that lack achievements. I'm sure this is also becoming a thing.

Oh, I suppose I can make back 50 cents from the game... or if it is new, $1. I don't get the fascination people have with the trading cards but it does get me some money.

I like it when games have achievements and trading cards, but it's such a minor thing that it has 0 effect on whether I will actually get the game or not.

  9. I don't see these getting a Region 2 Blu Ray release any time soon, so i've splashed £8 for a pre-owned version of them both on DVD. Can't wait to watch them.
  10. I'm about 6-7 hours into Super Mario 3D World, and I think its about to get somewhat more difficult. I've just entered the Bowser world, everything looks like a fiery pit of death. There was me thinking I'd off'd the son of a bitch too. Also playing a little Don't Starve. Died a few times so far; namely because I tend to underestimate how deadly a swarm of spiders can be, but I'm enjoying myself. I just wish i could play it at fullscreen without wanting to rip my eyes out.
  11. Berberian Sound Studio What did I just watch? There's an interesting film here somewhere, but it ends up coming out a complete mess, which is a shame as the cast is great.
  12. So how does everyone feel about Tearaway? I adored it from start to finish. I had a few niggles with playing in a dark room (the Vita's camera doesn't like anything that's not bright sunlight), but aside from that i thought it was well worth the wait. Without a doubt one of my favourite games of the year, and a game i don't think could be played on any other console.
  13. Tearaway I've been waiting for this game since its unveiling a few years (?) ago; and it didn't disappoint. The world of Iota (main character) pops at every turn, and like all Media Molecule games, it's got dump trucks full of charm and a very sweet, heart warming message at its heart. It uses the Vita's many features in new and interesting ways, and none of them feel unnecessary. I wasn't expecting the ending to touch me on the level that it did, and for that MM deserve all the praise in the world. If you've got a VIta, you should own a copy of this game. It's the perfect game for the console, and the only console that could pull this game off.
  14. Buried. It's a tense thriller which see's Ryan Reynolds give the best performance of his career. Reynolds is Buried in a box somewhere in Iraq. The film tells the story of him attempting to get out of the box..its fairly simply really, but really insanely gripping. I watched it on Netflix, and was on the edge of my seat for the entire run of the film. If you've got 2 hours to kill, this is a great way to do it.
  15. Got a code for Don't Starve on Steam if anyone's interested? Drop me a PM and i'll send the code over.
  16. I'm a little worried 55 minutes isn't going to be enough to wrap this story up.
  17. I've been trying to rekindle my love affair with the F1 series, however I've just admitted defeat. I seem to be stuck in a weird place between wanting to enjoy my time with it, and wanting the game to be difficult enough that i don't feel like I'm taking my shitty car to the world title. Unfortunately, i seem to be in between 'hard' and 'medium' AI settings. One is too easy, and the other is too tough. I guess we'll chalk 2012 up as an off year for me.
  18. I always think the Marvel films a little lacking for me. There's no danger, no real suspense. I guess thats what they're going for though. My top 5 though; in no specific order The Avengers Iron Man Thor
  19. Seriously, I caught up for this shit!? I feel the same way. Blitzed through season 3-5 inside 6 weeks, only to be continuously fucked over by this annoying week long gap between episodes.
  20. I've done 4 films today; The Impostor - Rather interested documentary that mixes up well produced live action, interviews with relevant characters and archive footage. All in all, i was a little disappointed, but it's still a pretty good film. Certainly worth a watch. IP Man - Again, slightly disappointed in this one. It had been built up to me over the last few weeks, and it never quite hit the high's i was expecting. The action was great, but i just wasn't interested in the story. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Jack Nicholson at his sublime best. Engrossing from start to finish. I can't believe i waited 25 years to watch this. Sound of my Voice - My favourite film of the day. Brit Marling was absolutely astonishing. The film itself had me captivated from start to finish. I've given out maybe eight, 5 star ratings in the last 4 years, and i think this might just make it 9.
  21. Got it on the Wii U myself, despite it being cheaper on PS3, Vita and PC. I believe its sold more copies on Wii U than any other system (UK). Most of the reviews i've read have said that, if you own a Wii U, play it on that.
  22. Doesn't the Vita version have some levels that the other versions don't have? That's what i heard at least.
  23. Had to be done. I was going to wait for a price drop, but i've been wanting to play it since February. So yeah, thanks Ubisoft.
