ugh, giving animals pills is the worst. one of my kitties had a thyroid condition and i had to give her a pill once a day for like 3 years. i never didn't have cuts on my hands, and i got more efficient but she certainly never made it easier.

adorable niece presents! my phone has been taking really terrible pictures lately, but there are assorted hand-drawn pictures, a foam penguin, finger puppets, hello kitty socks and play-dough creatures in bags. oh, also a mug with our mugs on them.

fft advance doesn't count. we can now continue.

i couldn't stand VIII. maybe it's a romance story only boys can love?

Sequels you want to see! Also what they would fix!
slithy toves replied to Chewblaha's topic in General Gaming Chat
i want a dark cloud 3 and honestly i'm not sure what i'd want them to fix about it. there were parts i liked better from 1 and parts i liked better form 2 so if level-5 could just read my mind and merge those things together i'd appreciate it. i want a phantasy star v, a proper, non-online focused sequel to the phantasy star series would make squeal like a little girl i also want an fftactics2, they can even do this on psp and not a ps3 but i wants it. not the advance or a2 or a3, a real return to an ivalice that isn't overly cutesy and take away those frigging judges. -
i'm getting the idea that this is just straight up numbered ff's so it is going in japanese order to avoid confusion. plus US FFII and FFIII were re-released starting on GBA w/ their japanese numbers so i don't think it's that confusing. if tactics were included it would be my favorite by far. i don't think i've ever owned more copies of or put more hours into any game in my life.

ah resolutions, how i despise thee. although 2010 has arguably been a pretty crap year for me as well, so i'm actually kinda feelin' the resolution thing this time around. - more workouts and yoga, for years i've been really good with this and then sometime around august this year i had work travel + family/pet deaths + now taking my brother around for his eye surgery crap that has ended up in an unheard of like 4 1/2 months of not really working out at all. i feel like crap so this one should be pretty easy - taking less crap from people and generally being more stubborn. irl i tend to let stuff slide more than i should cos usually it's not worth dealing w/ people being jerks, but after dealing with childish dickheads lately i'm totes over it and the gloves are coming off. - get my passport. i've been saying i'm going to do this forever. 2011 is the year, i feels it - i was going to save for a house, but i might just save to travel instead. either way saving more money is in my future.

wait, did someone give me acid and turn on the olsen twins? not again!

i don't think i can vote for my one favorite. it would feel wrong. i'd be lying if i didn't say i was a huge fan of VII, though i'm completely admitting it's wonderfully nostalgia tinted. i did like the story, though, before they bastardized it with all that advent children shenanigans. i actually kind of liked how unfleshed out it was to begin with because i could make it what i wanted. if i could see one game be remade it would be VI, because that game was mature and all kinds of wonderful. and let's face it, they've already remade the hell out of IV. as for the later ff games i was actually very partial to XII. the gambit system actually allowed for some nice customization and balthier is probably one of my favorite characters in a videogame ever. yeah, see and i was going to try to truncate this but i can't leave without saying IX was quite badass as well. i loved IX, they really injected a lot of humor into it that was pretty standard throughout the previous games but really didn't make it into later ones.

man i've missed sitting at a desk just listening to wonderful random gems

well, you were just swimming around being a dolphin and getting through levels. you could use echolocation and communicate with the wildlife around you. you had to figure out how to make it through some small or not obvious places and remember to keep on surfacing for air. oh... and did i mention when i was a child i wanted to be a marine biologist when i grew up? totes possibly skewing my liking of the game as well. i was practically giddy with excitement when you had to do the dolphin-like air surfacing and echolocation using.
-
yeah i'm really not sure if i could play it now, but when i was younger i adored it.
-
*sigh* no, but as a girl on a videogame forum you can never take it as a given that people know you're a girl so when relevant to conversation i point it out.
-
was i the only one who liked ecco the dolphin? then again, i was like 10/11 when that game came out, and a girl, so probably fit the demographic for said game rather well.

i loved the aladdin game on the genesis. that was good times.

and get cigarettes and lottery tickets and be mean to the help.

so much this. also, i tend to play RPGs and the like so playing online would essentially = mmo and the whole idea of mmo's just creeps me out.

eeeew, i can't eat gas station food. i used to work at one, so that probably has a bit to do with it, but really i can't. i usually bring my lunch but this week has been wacky so i wasn't on top of it.

yeah, i'm officially her miyazaki filter for the time being. i'd hate for her to go on a miyazaki banning so i've informed her i will show them age appropriate things as they grow older.

What is Retro/Classic to you?
slithy toves replied to Commander Shepard's topic in Retro/Classic Games
well, i got a good chuckle out of it if that helps -
well, if you filter out the dark they're whimsical and enchanting. my sister loves them but gets upset with them at befuddling times and asks me if all japanese people are like that, to which i remind her we're both american and nothing alike. she was so mad that the mother in ponyo left her young child home alone she even once told me that if she'd known that she wouldn't have let her kids see it. she's a nutbar.

yeah, we do lists too and we usually just make them long enough so that it's still a little surprising and / or we'll give general ideas but she flaked out this year and told me to shop for myself. i mean, not bad at all, not really complaining but a little of the fun got sucked out of it. edit: dan, i've gotten them to watch totoro. and they like castle in the sky. my sister is afraid to let them watch howl's moving castle because i like it (meh, can't say i blame her so much, not exactly known for having the most child appropriate taste) but now that i own it it's inevitable that they shall see its greatness. second edit to fix terrible grammar.
