It's alexheat. I'm pretty much always on Steam (because I leave my computer running ALL THE TIME), but I'm not always there.

I'm told this is a variant of dubstep. How did I actually enjoy something that is dubstep? Pure madness.

I never saw them until they popped up in Monster Hunter, but I also assumed Sony's mascot was whichever character was their bread winner at the time (which would probably be Nathan Drake now?). Still hate them though.

I've got a gay friend who always laughs about this kind of thing. Sometimes he'll punctuate his sentences with '...because that's what the GAY AGENDA™ commands!'.

I'm happy to see Jak, but I feel like I'm the only guy who really hates those little cat things from Monster Hunter and how they're getting the Rabbid treatment (read: THEY KEEP SHOWING UP).

That is precisely why I loved the Saturn controller. In part because I don't care much/am terrible with arcade sticks.

I'm still really hoping that Wii U opts for the PSN style subscription where you actually get shit out of it. But again, anything in the name of making Microsoft want to rethink their position on online play and features.

I'm alternating between Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown (by which I mean CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION GOTTA DO MY BARBIE DRESS UP), Dragon's Dogma (on rental from GameFly, but I'm thinking I'll buy it) and basically whatever else I get on rental.

It was half off this week so I said why the hell not. I don't care what anyone says. I liked the game! And I've spend $9 on worse things. I've got 2 on preorder so I might as well, right?

Kinda sorta. I'm really put off by a lot of the tropes in part nowadays, mostly the ones like the shonen protagonist who will Protect All His Friends™ with the Power of Friendship™, twice as much when they become his Nakama™ or the annoying female character whose tsundere behavior goes from being a quirk to all she is capable of doing (Kaze no Stigma was especially bad about it). As for the pandering, I'm pretty put off by Touhou's cast of...well, a bunch of little girls (who are really Thousands of Years Old™), I guess? It probably came from my burning hatred of moé that developed over the last couple of years. It's entirely possible that I am confusing the fan works with the real thing. duuuude... I have over 1600 songs in my library that technically started in bullet hell games. It's like an infection, haha... But just to throw a curveball, I'm gonna post something that's not from Touhou Project this time since I'm always doing those. I basically try to keep myself as far removed from Touhou anything as I possibly can (music included lest my curiosity get the better of me about the rest of it again). I find the fandom to be beyond creepy and the characters to be...well, pandering and terrible for the most part. That said, I do enjoy shoot'em up music and figure it's as good as it is because they don't have to worry about spending outrageous dollars on marketing, voice acting and the whole shebang. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rJUgJw7FOM

I stopped being surprised that bullet hell games have great music when I realized that they have a lot of time to work on it.

I'll keep sending those TV show pitches to Picus anyway, goddammit!

Sure is weird to suddenly be actively reading after years and years of partaking in video games most of the time.

I admit that I'm more interested in DoA now that Itagaki isn't involved (Tekken or Virtua Fighter are my 3D fighters of choice), as that likely means it'll be reasonably playable. After enduring DoA4...well, I wouldn't have been sad if that had killed it.

Didn't they do this in Tomb Raider Anniversary or Legends? I forget which, but I recall Lara doing the THESE HANDS HAVE KILLED thing a whole lot. And she's even the trope picture! I'm alright with there being consequences to killing in games (I recall the NES Dick Tracy game punished you for shooting unarmed enemies), but I can't imagine devs bogging down the cutscenes and gameplay for it.

I think it mostly boils down to 'jumble of numbers' vs. 'nickname or moniker', but that's just me.

My problem with the Wii U right now is that they haven't even specified how their online is going to be other than Reggie claiming that 'it's better now' or talking about all the social networking stuff (that I don't personally care about). If they really wanted to give MS and Sony a kick in their dicks, it'd be a combination of Live (solid infrastructure, cross-game/party chat and streamlined marketplace) and PSN Plus (free stuff!). I think that might be the thing to take some wind out of the 360's sails and I'm okay with anything that might make them rethink their 'pay for online/Netflix/etc services and overpriced full retail game downloads' stance.

Coincidentally, I get the 'you're kinda like a bear!' thing from a lot of people. I like to think that I'm a pretty okay guy once you get to know me, but I'm pretty introverted (for a multitude of reasons) so the task is not an easy one.

I largely (haha, it's funny because I'm a big fat black guy!) prefer to be mostly clean shaven (save for my soul patch), but I haven't felt compelled to shave lately. And curse my mother's genetics for passing baldness onto me. I wanted to have a full head of hair forever.

I can definitely understand the intent behind May's idea. Hell, it seems like the kind of thing people in the states would want.
