So I started watching Murdertits: The Fanservicing Witchblade since I'm a fan of the comic (well, more The Darkness than Witchblade)... I don't know what it is nowadays, but I sure get irritated by fanservice. It's entertaining enough, but it is always half a booty hour to Titty o'clock.

Man, I have this problem too when I see someone use the abbreviation 'SF'. I'm like 'Do they mean Shining Force? Street Fighter? Star Fox? Syphon Filter? Goddamn!'.

If I remember the statistics BioWare showed, only 18% of people played as female Shepard.

I regard it the same way I regard the topic of 'minorities and underrepresented people in video games'. It would be nice to have more diversity, so long as we weren't getting female/latino/gay/lesbian/etc etc protagonists just because. We need to get them because they're the most fitting choice for the story and let it come naturally. I know it sounds like 'Sucks to be you, but it'll get better eventually! Trust me!', but it sure as hell doesn't seem like trying to force the issue really gets us anywhere. That said, I could stand to see less overly girlish and boring characters (looking at you, Cheria!) and less buxom women who exist solely for fanservice (I saw this as I'm trying to watch Witchblade). More women that don't act like they're confined by gender stereotypes. On a related note, someone should fire Toriyama over at Square-Enix. Dude does not know what makes a reasonable female protagonist (Lightning isn't it), but does know how to ruin an established one (RIP Aya Brea).

Split the cost of the THQ bundle on sale with a friend who wanted Metro 2033 and Stalker. Neither of us really want Homefront, but one day I might download it. $8 for the 360 version? You bet. It was $3. I've spent $3 on way worse things.

I share similar sentiments with WAS on this one. I don't mind credits being there as an option.
But honestly, I don't give a shit who made the game beyond the point of 'Capcom/SNK/Ubisoft/whatever'.
Also, people who make the stinger part of the credit roll itself so if you skip them, you skip the bonus scene.

I don't understand why games and film/tv have credits. When I but a sausage roll it doesn't say who farmed the pigs, chopped them up, made the pastry, baked them,who worked at the cafeteria where those people ate etc.
I hate the self congratulatory nature of all media, with their stupid awards as well which are the same sort of thing.

Woke up to a phone call from a friend saying my 360 was on playing 007 Legends. Recovered gamertag to discover the dude was not only cheating, but also got my account labeled as such. Awwwwwwwwwwwwesome.

That sucks big time. Either stories like this are getting reported more often or hacking on XBL is more common... either way I don't understand why Microsoft refuses to do something about it.

I wish this were the case. I watched Sins all the way through and kept hoping it would either pick up the pace or just...get better, but it never did.

Just finished Dishonored the other day and plowed through Alan Wake's American Nightmare today. The latter really re-kindled my desire to see a sequel to the original. I dunno why, but I loves me some Alan Wake.

It'd be faster to list the websites that DON'T have it.
Rock Paper Shotgun seems to have the least, but every gaming news related site has it. With IGN and Kotaku being the worst.

'adequate enough to keep anyone from pitching a fit' - I think that's a good description of most big budget games these days, which I think is why a lot of people get angry about them. Big Gaming is too afraid to take risks, or even to market their series to the fans that allowed them to succeed, just so the can aim for the maximal return.

I wish (more) fighting game devs would make games with consoles in mind rather than arcades. Getting barebones 'arcade/versus/time attack/survival' nowadays just strikes me as kind of archaic and stagnant. Then again, I am one of those oddities that doesn't just go 'lol stories in fighting games' and sees the dismissal as blocking progression.

Only ones I can think of that fails at it are KoF and Tekken. KoF doesnt even try and Tekken though it could platform. It could not.

I noticed that KoF made an attempt with KoFXIII and it was a nice try, but...it was kind of awkward.
Part of my beef with the Trials and Challenges is that they just...difficult to provide something difficult. Most of the tourney level players I know call them arbitrary and impractical. Though I can think of a couple cases where things MvC3 had were actually viable combos.

I'd love it if everyone followed the BlazBlue/Guilty Gear route and had a dedicated story mode though.

Ethan summed up my feelings pretty nicely. I noticed I keep missing pretty much all the player quips in Borderlands 2 because it's all being drowned out by gunfire or sound effects. That shit is irritating.

I do my damnedest to be a good roommate. The most noise you'll hear me make is me either watching a movie or playing or a game a little too loudly due to 'hey let's make all our dialogue quiet' syndrome. I will admit I'm kind of a slob when it comes to my own room (clothes on the floor, basically), but dammit, it's my personal space, I can do what I want with it! I do have a story to share though. Turn the clock back to the year 2007. One of my friends, Ian (who was a trust fund baby), had acquired a house, paying for half of it straight up ($25,000) and inviting some of our mutual friends to move in. This is all fine and dandy, but everyone is suspicious of giving Ian rent as he is known to not be very good with money or responsible. Everything is alright for the most part, mostly some incidents with Ian's younger brother constantly manhandling everyone's stuff or his younger sister being nerve grating like every teenage girl, coupled with her known drug and drinking habits. Eventually, he started bringing over high schoolers he was friends with, procuring both drugs and alcohol for them. This continues for a couple weeks, leading to them damaging my best friend's little brother's monitor (who was there because we were doing some LAN gaming), ruining dishes by trying to cook hamburger patties on a cookie sheet on the stove, wasting our food by similar drunken/doped up idiocy and generally just being annoying as fuck. Turns out that Ian was spending the money on this rather than PAYING HIS MORTGAGE, which we didn't find out until the sheriff came by to give us a foreclosure notice while Ian was off faffing about. All of it just further cemented by hatred of teenagers and people who do drugs.

All in all...pretty crummy birthday to go with a pretty crummy week vacation from work. All the plans I made for the week fell apart almost consecutively.

There is indeed multiplayer of the split-screen variety and no online functionality to speak of outside of leaderboards. Which is a shame, but ah well. It means I can save cash dollars on that Battle DLC.

It seems like I should feel bad about the fact that I can't stand any of my brother's children, but the fact remains that the oldest (13, going on 14) is not only omnipresent, but also incredibly obnoxious while the rest (11, 9 and 5 respectively) are loud and unruly to the point that restaurants blacklisted my brother.

I used to own the Dreamcast version of SA2, but have long since abandoned it, so I picked up the XBLA version if only because I want Sega to keep existing. Got Borderlands 2 as a birthday gift and RE6 was preordered a while ago. I already own Continuum Shift and I never finished BB's story mode (plus, it was $5).
