  1. So my coworkers took me out to the bar last night after work because I guess they really wanted to see if I become a completely different beast when trashed. Hey, don't give me that look! It was free alcohol. I LOVE free things. They're the best! The list of things I was given: Two shots of Four Horsemen, one Four Horsemen Go to Hell, two Kamikazes, three bottles of Smirnoff Ice, one glass of Bomb Pop (UV Blue and Lemonade just in case one is unaware) and three glasses of Creme de Cacao and milk. And a shitload of water. Passed all my Fortitude saves during the night. Hurray for being a fat guy! Totally failed the one I rolled this morning when I woke up.
  2. Arc System Works is way better about it than most (at least with BlazBlue), but this is one of the reasons why I feel like fighting game devs need to make them like they're actually games people are going to buy and play at home as opposed to a mere arcade game. Part of the reason I liked BB and GG is the fact that story mode gave a reason to play (inb4 dumb bullshit about hurf blurf fighting games don't need store) since I only played against friends otherwise due to the nature of online communities. Meanwhile, Capcom is especially guilty of the design mentality of 'make it like a quarter muncher who cares about anything else'. Seems to me it would be easier and far more worthwhile to make a fighter then save your revisions and balance patches for when you release an inevitable Super/Extend (just go the SSF4AE method and have a retail release AND a DLC version for people with the original game). Unless you've let an ridiculous infinite or something gamebreaking slip through the cracks, I think it would be fine. But since it is a reasonable idea, it will never happen. Edit: Forgot to clarify that ASW has been good about this shit with BB. They were terrible about it with Guilty Gear.

  4. Just finished Sleeping Dogs. Kinda hoping it gets a sequel.
  5. Because Mirror's Edge is for chumps!
  6. I honestly have to wonder if anyone who works in the industry genuinely believes that shit they say about piracy being The Worst Thing Ever™ or that one pirated copy = one lost sale.
  7. It's kind of annoying to me how so much stuff wants/requires a cell phone number when I have no cell phone due to lack of need for one.

Stuff like Google, Yahoo or even Facebook (haha, not a chance!) like to pull that 'Hey, give us your mobile number for password recovery!' notices, which is pretty much the only reason I'm reminded of cell phones.

I don't have one since I work mostly at home and seldom get out much. Makes it kind of useless to me.

And I live in the States.

Oh, for 2-step verification. It's mighty useful.

If you're in the states, use someone else's phone to setup a Google Voice number.

I'm the opposite: I have a cell phone but no landline because I see no need for one.

  8. Go go Gadget dissonant game purchases!
  9. Finished clearing all the character stories in P4A after I beat Tales of Graces f last week. Onto Sleeping Dogs!
  10. Hey, it's 4:30 AM. Let's sleep. Hey, it's 4:30. Go choke on a dick!

  11. I hate those days where I wake up and I just feel like crummy. Unfortunately, this is almost every day.

      「Advent Chaos」

I think that's what happens when you turn 23 or something. I'm barely 21 and I already feel it. EVERY DAY.

  12. Capcom shows footage of a new IP and the first response is 'hurf blurf i'll just wait for the super mega ultra turbo hd remix edition'. When has this ever been funny?

Maybe it's not a joke? They always alienate a certain segment when making incremental rereleases. If it's SF or RE it makes perfect sense to sit back and wait for the inevitable upgraded version.

I think it's become a little ridiculous when Capcom isn't the only company guilty of it (I mean, look at Arc System Works and GGXX).

Entirely fair. I just threw in the towel on BlazBlue - there were lots of things I really liked, but every time I buy one, a new one comes out to make it obsolete. I'm out!

  13. Looks like my best friend's marriage one of its final hits: His wife is coercing him to attend a brony get together this weekend while he himself doesn't care for MLP (pretty sure it just downgraded to straight up hating it now).

I feel pretty bad for him as this is the same guy with the wife that really likes yaoi fanfics, regardless of the source (with Megamind probably being the worst one I had narrated to me once).

For once, I agree with W&S, adults have no business watching My Little Pony. That's what you would call a "deal breaker".

But it is okay to watch Adventure Time, right? Right???

  14. Since Dean linked the thread to me... This about sums it up for me (sans RPGs, I guess). Though I would tell you straight up that I would greatly prefer using a controller for just about any game (yes, even shooters...but not RTSes), I can't argue with the power of Steam sales and have double dipped on a couple purchases. For the most part, if a game is multi-plat and has multiplayer, odds are good that I will get the 360 version over the PS3 and PC versions due to me knowing more people I actively game with (especially fighting games). If I get a single-player game (that is, you know, actually worth buying), I'll get it for which is cheapest. With the amount of games that are okay, but not really worth buying, I am still pretty glad that I can just rent something, beat it in a couple days then forget all about it.
  15. Every time one of my friends whines about a game not getting a PC release (especially fighting games), I have to remind them that they actually don't like video games. They really should know better that there are only two things dumber than being a PC exclusive. Being Wii exclusive or handheld exclusive.

They're relics of a time before ascending to gaming godhood.

Seriously though, its part laziness on my part that I just don't want to turn on my PS3 or 360. 360 got the added burden of needing Live for multiplayer. So screw the 360 when it comes to MP. My PS3... I don't want it to die. :|

I keep consoles around for when games don't release on PC. But ideally every game would release on PC, and any multiplatform game should release on PC. It's one thing to not release Uncharted or Mario on PC, but it's another for Red Dead Redemption or Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

  16. I wish days lasted twice as long. Or at least the world has something similar to tea time in Britain. Except naps instead of tea.

      Siestas would be nice.

  17. I know this feeling. I had a torn muscle in the back of my left knee (from a work injury) that, while healed, doesn't particularly enjoy it when I'm physically active constantly (and my doctor strongly advised against it because if it gets ruined again, that's that).
  18. "But Alex, why do you not like MLP?" Trust me, I would be similarly displeased if I got punched in the face every time I turned a corner too.

  19. I am, however, seriously looking forward to the gag endings. Especially if they're as good as Rachel's in CS.
  20. I think I may put it on my 'rent first, buy later' list just in case they pull another Extend.
  21. Once I started New Game+, I ended up buying about six Portcrystals and setting them up (in conjunction with the one you get normally) like this: 1) The cliff just right outside the back entrance of the Witchwood that's close to Cassadris. 2) Right outside the Shadow Fort. 3) Bloodwater Beach. 4) The Healing Spring near the Duke's Manse. 5) Hillfigure Knoll 6) The Great Encampment 7) Blue Moon Tower Yup, I spent a fair amount of money to avoid having to escort anyone anywhere for the most part.
  22. That feel when you wake up and almost immediately find two songs you'd spent several hours looking for previously.
