I am pretty good to people (if not kind of a short since I'm not big on socialization), though I will admit that I am definitely not interested in actively spending any amount of significant time with a dude who acts like a thug all the time.
It could be an act for all I know, but I am not at all interested in finding out.

I'm more than happy to stereotype based on attire. You choose your clothes (unless your mum does) so I feel it is a valid thing to assess you on.

I'm kind of surprised to see that DoA5 plays more like Virtua Fighter now instead of being like...jiggly tits and excessive counters.

Going on 1, 2, and 4, it seems to be boobs were a DoA1 issue. After that, they're window dressing on a good fighting engine that's not all blocking and animation-cancel counters like other games. (I mean... in 1 they weren't even human, haha)

I played both, but goddamn did she sound like an insufferable bitch in ME1, even when I was trying to be nice to people.
People acting superior because of the avatar they choose in a video game is stupid though.

This seems to be an issue with movies/cutscenes in general. I know a couple years ago when I watched Interview With a Vampire, I had to crank my TV to damn near max when someone was speaking then promptly go deaf when anything else happened.

I know you hate motion controls, but Skyward Sword, which in my opinion is up there with Wind Waker as some of the great Zelda games (but maybe not to ALTTP or OoT standards), would not be playable with a standard controller, and that Wii Motion Plus is what helps make the game so great. Gimmicky is not a world I would use to describe it. I am going to have to seriously disagree with this one. Skyward Sword was definitely gimmicky, not to mention totally bonkers in how it handled the motion controls. It used the gyro for everything, despite the fact that the gyroscope is terrible at tracking. Even recalibrating the remote used it instead of the IR sensor. Aiming the bow? Forget about it! Gyro time! Sword combat could've easily been done with a controller. You've been able to control the general direction of your slashes since Ocarina if you were locked on. Alternatively, they could've just dropped the 'attack from specific angles' idea and just made the AI smarter. I know the imprecision of the remote led me to just shield parry everything and waggle my way to victory. The bottom line is that it sure as hell wouldn't kill Nintendo to offer alternative control schemes, as to not divide their players. Not everyone is on board with motion controls or touch screen shenanigans (I know I'm definitely not).

Like I said in my status update, I can watch either, but will generally differ to the dub. If my only option is watch subs, I am not at all bothered by this. A lot of anime watching nowadays is done while I'm eating or lying in bed (sometimes in the process of falling asleep) and it takes a helluva lot less of my focus to listen than read some subs. That, and I am too laidback to be bothered by voice acting unless it is really really bad (which I admit is subjective, but feel that a lot of folks are WAY too hard on dubs). Alternatively, most seiyuu make me want to smack a bitch, especially female characters or children. The latter boils down to the people in charge though ('I want you to add 'nyan' to the end of all of your sentences in order to appeal to some sweaty neckbeards that will buy the figurines and masturbate on them!'). On the other hand, sub purists make me a sad panda with my sadness progressing based on what kind of logic they're using (it just sounds better because I can't understand it!, but the director's vision is lost in the translation!, the jokes don't translate!* or it is the pure experience!). To each their own, but come on... *This is like the best thing ever to me because Japan is fond of wordplay jokes and puns, which I absolutely hate.

Seeing as how swearing at the office is kind of a No No according to corporate, I've taken up a replacement word from my favorite superhero (Spider-Man 2099): Shock. My coworkers are already confused as to why I keep shockin' saying it. I'd call that a success.

People are seriously telling Harada to put more characters in Tekken Tag 2? Fucking seriously? The only ones not there are Azazel (who was a crappy boss no one liked anyway), Gon (special guest manga character), NANCY (who was a sub-boss no one liked) and Tetsujin (who is just a skin swap of Mokujin). What the hell do these people want!? Ugh, video game community, you make-a me so mad!

Honestly, I thought DA:O's combat was capital B boring because it was pretty much D&D combat in video game form. D&D combat is very slow and very boring DA2's combat was definitely not very good in terms of action-RPGs, so I hope they don't bring it OR DA:O's combat back. If Bioware wants to do an action-RPG, I'd be content with them copying Dragon's Dogma wholesale. Or Darksiders. Or something (except Demon's/Dark Souls because I would actually want to enjoy it).

I had one of those 'Dub vs. Sub' conversations with a coworker yesterday. It's going to be awkward knowing I work with someone that genuinely believes subs are better and not that companies need to you know, stop cutting corners on localizations and translations.

When I was younger (I would say 15 years ago), I would probably say that it bugged me because I wanted to feel like a unique snowflake for being able to beat Contra 3 on hard mode in order to get the real ending or the bragging rights of beating something on hard mode. Nowadays, as long as it doesn't lead to watering down the experience of the game for everyone (say, removing the inventory of an action-RPG because it is 'too much for the average guy to handle', that kind of thing), it shouldn't really matter if someone wanted to play on Super Easy. As long as you're playing it, right?

So I looked up the sale numbers of all the console Zelda titles and Twilight Princess reigns supreme at 8.15 million with OoT behind it at 7.60 (10.36 if you count the 3DS port). I find this interesting because Skyward Sword (3.39) was...dubious. Seems to me that there is a preference from the players here.

What really caught my attention was the fact that the best selling games appear to be the ones where Link is an adult (or close to it) and the story presentation leans closer to 'serious'.

I actually think that Wind Waker might be my favorite Zelda game. It's really hard to say though because I've loved all the main entries so much since OoT (first one I played).

I wasn't horribly bothered by anything in Graces, other than maybe Sophie's voice actress, the atypical pointless comic relief and annoyingly shonen protagonist who mutters about protecting his friends (protip: Everyone wants to do this, it isn't special) and succeeds purely because he is the protagonist. Several things make it better for me though. There's no high school to be seen. Jamieson Price playing the grizzled veteran that enjoys tormenting teenagers. There isn't a single high school to be seen! The change in the battle system is actually kind of nice. Hard to get used to at first if you played previous games first. No fucking high schools and high school students or PG dating sims, yeah! But I admit that I'm not horribly difficult to please.

I'm not sure why Square-Enix is convinced people cared about or liked Lightning when Sazh was the best character in FFXIII by magnitudes similar to the earthquakes of Chile. -
People who want to see me hammered, also people who totally don't have to pay for it. I ordered the Smirnoff Ices though because they're one of the few things I don't mind drinking as in the case of most alcoholic beverages, the taste of alcohol (which is horrible) overpowers everything else. Ultimately, taste is always going to be subjective, isn't it? No sense in being some kind of booze elitist, right?
