I hadn't felt any sort of emotional response to a video game for years until I played Nier (the last game was Digital Devil Saga). It was different to genuinely think 'man, I want this guy to save his daughter'.

I think I'm coming down with something. Had a really sore throat on Friday and now I'm getting headaches and coughing up gunk. I suppose I might be due for my yearly bout of sickness since I haven't been sick since I got bronchitis a year and a half ago.

Oh man I haven't been sick in like 3 years, I imagine sooner or later I'll get all three years of illness at once and I'll just kick the bucket.

go to the store pick up some vitamin C tablets, OJ and fruit in high vitamin C. At this point it may not help keep the sickness away, but it will help you recover faster.

Despite its status as 'overhyped/overrated', I still gotta give my vote to FF7 because hey, it is what cemented my interest in the RPG genre. FFIX is a close second. Also, Tactics wasn't on the list, so I couldn't vote for that.

I think I've hit that point where I have a hard time hearing legitimate reasoning. Everything just sounds like whining now. I blame the video game community and industry.

I miss being able to have all my audio devices playing in unison. Prior to my mobo/CPU upgrade last December, I was able to adjust what jack did what so two of them were set for Speaker Out (my two monitors) and I had my headset plugged into two of the four remaining ports (as headphone and mic respectively...obviously). Not the case for the new mobo, so I had to buy a splitter for the speakers and a brand new headset. This brings back horrible memories of being a teenager and living with my older sister, brother and mom. All of whom had no idea what they were doing. KaZaA and Limewire were constantly being re-installed despite my warnings (usually countered with 'Well what if YOUR stuff is giving us viruses?') and I pretty much gave up on troubleshooting until we acquired a second computer (which especially became mine because I took care of it).

I'm looking forward to the remake/enhanced port of Eternal Punishment (like Martian said, the interface of the original versions is terribad). I've yet to finish Innocent Sin, but I'm enjoying it when I actually sit down and play it. My thing with Persona is...I liked the old games more than the newer ones, as the newer ones feel a helluva lot more archetypically Japanese (especially P3 and the high school setting). Let me tell you, I am kind of sick of Japanese highschools and teenagers.

I just have a difficult time believing that people who sit around and be bored while their significant others or family members do something they enjoy are a very large audience for this. But then again, it would fit pretty good with what Ethan said earlier about targeting groups.

Yeah, I can't figure out who that's trying to cater to. I can't think of many, if any households that only seriously have one TV that isn't tiny, black and white and still has dials instead of buttons. That's sure what people act like in regards to anything that isn't their BEST TV. You know, if they're not acting like they only have one TV. In which case, they are probably the minority (when have we ever heard of homes with only one TV?).

I'm one of those guys who didn't actually enjoy Dark Souls and found it to be artificially difficult instead of genuinely difficult. Besides, AC is already a decent difficult game!

I keep wishing From Software would make an Armored Core game that put some actual emphasis on the pilot instead of just the mech customization. Let me make a damn pilot avatar! Then let me do shit outside the mech! Go around the city and talk to other pilots and form some partnerships! Hell, let me do some work for part dealers to get sweet discounts! And the obligatory level where someone swipes my AC and I gotta sneak about to get it back*! *Just don't make that like Dark Souls is any capacity because I would like to actually enjoy playing.

ಠ_ಠ [Horrible sexual joke about water bending and semen] I actually just started watching Avatar since I initially avoided it on the assumption that it was pseudo-anime in the same vein as Teen Titans (read: terrible) because that was how I rolled when I was 19 (when Avatar first aired). I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would.

That pretty much sums up my anime tastes nowadays, though my tolerance level for shounen varies depends on how thick it gets laid on. On the other hand, I tried rewatching Trigun recently* and just cringed every time Vash did something stupid. Pretty sure I can't handle stupid protagonists anymore. *It's been six years since I watched it, for reference.

I grew with an older brother and sister who listened to nothing but rap and hip-hop. As a result, I hate almost all non-VGM music. I feel like I got the better end of the deal in terms of musical preferences even if I probably only think this because of a bias.
