  1. I expect that too, especially with their marketing guys claiming the third part of a trilogy is a great time for newcomers to jump on board; I just wouldn't want to see it. It's a 'war' so I think losses are to be expected; it's more a matter of how severe they are. It would be a bit unfair to make the game unwinnable based on decision in past games...but it would possibly encourage sales of them. Mass Effect 2 had a total fail state so I don't see why ME3 couldn't. Oh, man, imagine something like the ending to Blackadder Goes Forth! Only without the bright side to the ending...
  2. I really liked the Riddler challenges. Some of them were basic variations but a fair few were very rewarding to solve or involved some kind of physical dexterity. And some even included outsmarting the cheating Riddler.
  3. AA had a tighter story but I felt everything else about AC was way better.
  4. If you're referring to Jennifer Hepler then a) she's not involved in the series in any way and B) that whole interview was taken out of context (and was from years ago). On the main topic at hand, I can see why you would want there to be a chance at the best possible ending just from one game but I would be disappointed if so. The Quarians going to war with the Geth at such a critical time would surely have dire consequences, for example. So, yeah, I could see why people might want it that way and that past decisions might just mean extra work on the player's behalf but I wouldn't like to see BioWare chicken out.
  5. I don't mean to make you doubt, but everywhere I'd seen people talking about how they got them it was 'buying Veteran packs. Lots and lots of veteran packs'. And that's how I unlocked one. It takes a bit of getting used to as well. I kept overshooting my mark while trying to heavy melee (which can be fatal in the wrong situation) and overestimating how tough I am...even though they are total wrecking machines. I was beating up an Atlas at one point.
  6. I unlocked the Krogan Soldier! Had a stupid smile fixed on my face the whole of the second game (where I'd properly sorted equipment and assigned melee to the right mouse button).
  7. In ME2, there were some hints about what can harm a Reaper. I seem to recall the derelict Reaper that you take the IFF from had been severely damaged by something or some weapon.
  8. I know. Just wanted to show the one time they tried something a bit daring.
  9. You mean no one even heard my singing?! I guess that explains why I wasn't voted off.
  10. In the real world, I would agree, but video games are so predictable, you know? Acts of mercy ALWAYS pay off in games. It's just Gamer Sense. http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Elnora
  11. I don't know much about protection on savefiles for consoles but maybe problems would arise? Like you said, I shouldn't think BioWare deliberately removed content based on these 'fixed' elements (cutting Wrex's dialogue and model, for example). Had people been able to 'cook' PC saves to work on ME2, or anything like that?
  12. Well, in ME2, they seem angry when they bump into you but then you get that apologetic email afterwards. So I don't think it's too much of a stretch for them to be glad to see you, away from Cerberus. Thing I find funny is that Kirrahe is in the demo but, as far as I'm aware, for PS3 players he is dead. I guess Wrex won't be making an appearance for them either? I can't remember what elements were set in stone for PS3 players.
  13. I can understand a slight change in character for Wrex. He has spent the past two years acting as a leader and rebuilding Krogan society, so I'd expect a slight change in attitude there. I'd be miffed at the Kirrahe thing but... POSSIBLE ME3 SPOILER
  14. Managed to play a few games with a Krogan Soldier in the party, or as I would call him 'Shot-blocker'. Basically, if you hadn't killed an enemy within a few seconds of seeing them, there's a good chance there will suddenly be a Krogan charging in and nutting them one. It was good though because we cleared about 4 missions in around 13-14 minutes, and I gained 5 levels.

  16. But you really need to play through it twice. DO IT.
  17. Not a great album overall, but I do like a good number of the tracks.
  18. Mattock felt a lot like Halo Reach's DMR, so I really liked it.
  19. I'm not really one for competitive multiplayer except for the odd exception, but I am all over co-op stuff like Cerberus soldiers on a biotic singularity.
  20. I want to unlock a Krogan Soldier or Sentinel.
  21. I've kinda split my stuff over two threads now (d'oh), but I was a Soldier in a group with an Adept, a Sentinel and an Engineer. From the numbers at the end of the game, it seems an Adept suffers a lot from being a support class. Or at least that's how the guy I was with played (dude invited me but I have no idea who he was. JackSprat301 or something). He was doing a good job but not getting a lot of exp from the kills and such.
  22. Oh, cool. I'll have to check that out then.
