I liked it, but then I'm hoping this really is an old-build in some respects. I'm glad to see the combat felt much improved but I'm a little concerned about other aspects, without being outright upset with anything. I've played it through three times now, and I'm quite liking the Engineer class; utterly dominated right up until the boss (yeah, fuck you, enemy engineers. My turrets now!). My only problem is that because the class has no special ammo types, enemies aren't quite dying after a full clip like I'd managed before with Soldier and Infiltrator. In the full game, I'm sure I'll probably be a slightly higher level (taking savegame bonuses into account) so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Oh, and for PC players, if you weren't aware, there are more graphics options in the game files. Should be in your Program Files and then Origin Games>Mass Effect 3 Demo>Binaries>MassEffect3DemoConfig. Has all the same options ME2 had. I just turned motion blur off and put anisotropic filtering up one more.

Yeah, they were alright for the most part, ducking and rolling too, I think I just left auto squad powers on because that's how I'd had it before. I figured I'm in the menu so damn much they probably never get a chance to use them theirselves. It was probably the bit where we split that ruined me; I ran up the stairs with Garrus but Liara didn't follow. I think you only get about 4 medi-gels total during the demo and she used two there. Pretty pleased that, during my successful attempt, I managed to defeat the Atlas without anyone dying at all. The major bonus is that you can change the difficulty at any point, it seems. EDIT: And I did notice the odd issue here and there during that last fight. On one occasion it just would not let me use a power, and I wasn't in the middle of doing anything else; the thing just wouldn't highlight. And another time, I was clicking to fire but nothing was coming out of my gun (and yes, I had a full clip of ammo). Hopefully little bugs that are since gone. I only used them because I was posting a long silly list, then everyone followed suit. Oh, I forgot to note: I love the action hero-style slide-over-car-hood/bonnet move for vaulting cover quickly.

OK, you didn't ask for them but here are some notes from my Soldier playthrough on Hardcore difficulty. Overall, I am quite pleased with a lot of the changes. I can't really compare Hardcore difficulty to the earlier games but I definitely found myself thinking about tactics a lot more. I was doing a lot of manual squad-placing (can't imagine trying to manage that in real-time with Kinect) and thinking more about power and ammo usage. Everything was paced a lot faster and it felt hectic at times, but I enjoyed it. Will have to wait and see how the story goes... Still undecided which class I want to play as though, might go for Infiltrator.

Hehe. I meant which particular game got it on his mind. Damn good album too.

Oh, right. Now I get it. I always figured the game rail-roaded you at that point but I must admit my memory is hazy.

I thought your crew got captured immediately after you've done the Reaper IFF mission. Or I'm guessing there's a bit inbetween, where you choose to install it, right?
-
That must be incorrect because I did Legion's loyalty mission and Kelly survived. I only saw one 'red shirt' Cerberus crew member die and I presume that happens regardless. Wiki says it's Lilith that dies regardless, but I can't recall who she is.

It was a bit of a sneaky thing to do on BioWare's part, but the idea is that after the Collectors nab your crew you should be going straight through that relay to rescue them (and do the suicide mission, obviously). I believe, however, that you are allowed to do one more mission before going (so Legion's loyalty mission then). Not sure if you have older savegames but, basically, you want to have all possible loyalty missions out of the way before you go for the Reaper IFF.

Funnily enough, I would say Overlord is a must-have if it weren't for the hovertank stuff already being in a free piece of DLC, or if they'd used some of those more advanced aspects like the 'vehicle-platforming' from before. The story is OK but the gameplay was a bit 'dry' up until the end.

That one cracks me up everytime. I thought you were going to post what James had on Twitter. Disneyfied Firefly http://www.redbubble.com/people/athenaleonti/works/7389638-disney-fire-fly-crew

I would argue that only the Shadow Broker DLC was worth having (at full-price). The rest I would watch on YouTube unless I could get them for half-price.

I think my favourite part was where you were driving us towards a fight, then nitro-boosted, hit another car and flipped both over. After, we just sort of casually got out of the car and you'd typed 'oops', but then it burst into flames and you could tell we were both simultaneously thinking, "Oh crap, RUUUUUUN!" Do you know how to ensure she survives?

Wonder where you got that from...

I believe Mordin has a new (worse) voice-actor. Not sure about the rest.

Well, in the case of Mass Effect 2, the combat wasn't a lot like the first game's in many ways. Plus, I wanted to try Vanguard out. I think the default difficulty should've been a little tougher though.
-
I rarely felt challenged during ME2, and I don't think I was playing a Vanguard particularly 'effectively' either. Probably died once or twice, and that was usually when Harbinger surprised me by ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL of someone I hadn't seen and then did that rocket-like attack. Although, because I was on PC, I found it far easier to just headshot everyone (which helped, because I'm pretty cack at WASD movement and such) so rarely need to Charge or use the shotgun. Not that I really found the shotgun any good anyway. Of course, the game has three difficulty levels above Normal. If ME3 is the same, I'd imagine Veteran is the way to go. Same as you'd pick Heroic for Halo and Hardcore for Gears. I've been playing a bit recently as a Soldier and found myself getting far more 'stuck in' during combat, and it's pretty fun. I just love the fact that bringing up the powers/weapons menu pauses the action, giving you time to breathe, gather your bearings and assess the situation. That would be the thing I'd struggle with in multiplayer.

From a quick-look, it's nothing they haven't shown before . I can't confirm it, but I think that's all the single-player stuff in the demo.

Yeah, looking around, I realise it's just a fucking slot machine. I think they have 10,000 codes to giveaway but hopefully they'd have taken the thing down if they are all gone.
