  1. I think it would take a very long time to 'complete' Pokemon. But you certainly beat it.
  2. Yeah, I don't think they'd go with non-original stuff, but they've obviously taken things directly from the comics before. By now, I'd trust Nolan to do whatever anyway.
  3. http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/129118-gordon-levitts-the-dark-knight-rises-role-revealed If you know your Batman you'll know he's...
  4. I'd heard somewhere that it deals with race issues as well. I've always loved detective stuff anyway so the game is already interesting enough. It looked like it had the GTA IV-style (and obviously RDR-style) combat which was OK for shootouts, but the fistfights are always terrible.
  5. Oh, so Americans are taught it? My apologies.
  6. Oh, yeah, I saw that but just didn't bother with it. (Someone on the internet is wrong? Oh well! *xkcd comic*) I'd already figured that was the case. Seemed pretty obvious to me the first time. Well, the second time really, because I restarted the game after the first bit because I'd put my Shepard's eyes ever so slightly too close together and figured it would continue to bug me for the rest of the game.
  7. Hehe. I saw that but I was thinking 'No! I want people to submit their own choices' I think we did actually cover a lot of them.
  8. Yeah, I think I'm the same. I blame a lot of it on a couple of my close friends who are really fussy about language, so it's rubbed off on me. Until they went on about it, I never knew about subjunctive stuff (I blame the teachers) which I'm actually not sure Americans are even taught. For example, that silly 'I wish a was a punk rocker' song should be 'I wish I were a punk rocker' and you would say 'if I were President' and not 'if I was President'. I 'clean up' some of the other Press X or Die writers' stuff just because if someone did want to use their articles in a professional capacity (say, applying for a games reviewer job) it would benefit them not to have little errors. I do try and restrain myself but I think I'm a little Asperger's.
  9. That looks more like a mistake where they meant to say 'almost everyone' or an odd switch of 'everyone' for 'people'? I'd have to defer to Stephen Fry on other stuff.
  10. I think it took on that pronunciation due to the Greek translation and how other derived words are said. Like 'deity'. But, yeah, I don't think 'Deus Ex' has any meaning on its own, technically. 'From God' would be the best guess.

I'd just be interested to see who exactly these people are. Considering most developers are looking to focus on console development...

Lol. I finally caught up on 'internet stuff' and found you'd discussed this with Ethan a few days ago. I am using my old laptop while my PC is being fixed, so I didn't have Twitter or the Newsfeed bookmarked and missed all this. =p

  11. I will just say that Throh's 'Storm Throw' seems like a cheat of a move. It has an accuracy of 100 and a power of 40, yet its description says 'It always results in a critical hit'. So you have a 100% accurate move that actually does 80 damage every time?
  12. Watched The Naked Gun the other night. Obviously not new, but still great. I had forgotten about the opening scene where Frank beats up a load of anti-American guys, including Colonel Gaddafi.
  13. Just more stupidity from the Gawker redesign.
  14. Yeah, it's always been annoying, but I usually finish them in the second hit or use a status move as the second blow. Since it deals double the damage you inflicted upon them, you should still survive if you only attack once though...
  15. I struggled with that second gym too. Fucking fast Watchog and that Retaliate move. Takes most pokemon out in two hits and it's not as if potions can restore health any quicker. Plus it's level 20 and that's your max level there, I think? I'd say it's a really weird design decision but then JRPGs have always been about grinding. Third gym was a complete pushover though... Reminds me of when I took a Lucario into the Steel Gym in Platinum and just Aura Sphered through everything.
  16. At least you got it in the end. And, Dean, I don't use either of those but the evolved form of Lillipup has been a formidable opponent a couple of times (damn Takedown).
  17. I think all it has is more trainers to fight and some (maybe rare?) items on sale. White Forest has a Shinx who is totally badass.
  18. I don't think Ethan was serious. I mean we all know 'law' in British is called 'dos and do nots'.
  19. Haha. But if you knew Battra you'd be aware he considers himself a rare exception.
  20. Sorry, Ethan, you can only specialise in one: law or lore.
  21. Too late! He's already made it a console war!
