Thanks for the tips, but I know what I should be doing. It's just I've never really had a lot of luck with bricks & bottles. Like I said, either they fail to attract attention or they don't hold it for very long and I get spotted when farther into an area. And it's not as if those objects can be crafted or respawn in your backpack (though, I've started noticing a lot more littered around). Fortunately, yeah, you can just leg it out of there and reapproach, but sometimes it just feels messy and like I'm playing it wrong. Hopefully, it'll all fall into place as I play more, or it's just the sort of area I'm in currently in (wide-open backyards). We shall see...

Played five hours of The Last of Us so far. Can't really say I'm enjoying it, but I don't dislike it. Not exactly spoiler-y, but if there are people who want to stay completely in the dark...

Sort of! Can't believe someone else has heard of it. It's like Enslaved meets Children of Men meets The Walking Dead (videogame) meets The Road meets The Walking Dead (comic) meets 28 Days Later meets The Walking Dead (TV series) meets I Am Legend.

Everything Must Go. I must admit, I was expecting something a little bit lighter. I wasn't expecting a laugh-out-loud comedy by any means, but I didn't think it would be about alcoholism and such. Still, it's a good watch and Ferrell does a decent job, even if perhaps someone not quite so 'mellow' might have been a better choice for the character.

The Last of Us. Not sure if any of you guys have heard about it. It's been OK so far.

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Such a silly film, and all the more hilarious for it. It does a really neat job with the misunderstandings and resulting ridiculous situations. Alan Tudyk is always good and Tyler Labine was too. Plus, the bad dude does a really effective creepy, young Sean Penn.

It would explain a lot.

Lego LOTR has too many irritating little things, particularly the crappy 'platforming' stuff. LEGO Batman 2 has been the best of the lot, I think. I'm excited for the Marvel one though.

Call it 'Mightbe', as in They Might Be Giants and also like Maeby.

Call it Egon. "Where's Egon?"

With the new generation on the horizon, I figured now was a good time to put together a collection of all the current-gen games we felt were overlooked/underappreciated/misunderstood/whatever. Seeing as now they're probably quite cheap, it's a good time for some general recommendations for games you think are worth playing and why. Hopefully, it'll give some PXOD writers (myself included) a little kick to write a bit more. And I was thinking there's bound to be something we miss as well, so it's worth including forum members'/readers' picks as well. Definitely not looking to be too stringent with the criteria, though metacritic may give you a general view of a game's initial reception. The more, the better, I figure. If it becomes fairly large, we can split it into parts; perhaps by genre, writer, platform or something? Anyway, it can be anything - from XBLA games and indies through to licensed games. Personally, I'm thinking stuff like Assault Heroes 1 and 2, Crash Commando, Revenge of the Wounded Dragons, Rag Doll Kung Fu, Lost Odyssey, Stranglehold, Nier, Alpha Protocol, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Vanquish. Obviously, I'm not planning on writing about all of them, and other folks may feel more strongly about them anyway, but those are some general examples. So, let's hear it!

Or on GOG /inb4FDS

The Grey on blu-ray. Heard very good things about it, though I was a little skeptical since it's by the same guy who made Smokin' Aces. Was cheap enough though, so we shall see!

The Walking Dead. Really good stuff. Gripping, tense, harrowing, moving, shocking; it never lets up. I talk about 'pace' a lot when it comes to games/films/TV shows, and this does it really well. I really dug even the subtle little ways that your choices were recognised ("Manure!") even though it seems a lot of the major stuff has no impact BEYOND THAT ON YOUR SOUL. p.s. do I really want to play The Last of Us next? Can my poor heart take it?

When I first heard about it, I wanted to see it. Just that it never played in any local cinemas, then I was waiting for the DVD price to drop...then when it had, I put it on my birthday list as my sisters can grab cheap stuff if they want...but then had to wait because two of my sisters were slow at buying me a present and didn't want to mess that up in case. So after all that waiting, this film better be good!
