PC Gamer review is in. They praised it like it's a perfect RPG, but 89/100 final score. Small spoilers obviously. http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/05/19/the-witcher-2-review/ Read the comments if you want to see the editors get flamed for giving Dragon Age 2 a 94.

What are you listening to now?

I love this song so very much. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtgAynh-b3U -
Nothing wrong with having a dissenting opinion, Arion, if it's well-thought out and articulated. Thanks for the perspective. That being said, most people are saying that it takes a while for the combat to "click," and when it does, it's a whole lot easier. Share with us your thoughts as you progress further.

It's still only 5 USD on gog.com http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/the_witcher

I believe the first one can even just be largely point-and-click depending on the camera angle you pick.

I think doing the Top 50 or whatever as a feature on PXOD would be great. We could take turns doing write-ups for each of the entries (the ones we voted for of course).
-
We just need to access/activate Google Docs on our accounts? Or do you need us to get on the PXOD docs somehow? Also, regarding the site, I think the logo could be prettied up a bit with borders/gloss etc. I can mess around with it later if need be.

Chrono Trigger is rated.

Chrono Trigger makes me forgive all the other JRPG's for their wrongdoing.

"Piracy these days on PC is probably less problematic than second-hand sales on the Xbox," declared lead Fable III combat designer Mike West. "I've been working on PC games for many years and piracy is always a problem. There are a lot of honest people out there as well, and if they like your game they'll buy it." West shared more thoughts on piracy as well here.

Keep in mind, the opening sequence and first world of KOTOR are the hardest part to slog through. After that it's a little more open-ended as far as what planet the player decides to go to, though the game itself is relatively linear. Awesome game.

Have we seen Knights of the Old Republic or Half-Life 2 yet? If we haven't, those will certainly appear.
-
Metroid Prime in the top ten; there is still good in the world.
-
I think we've got quite a good list so far; excellent work fellow Tay gentlemen/lady-fellows.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but what PC games have required the user to pay for a patch, and why do you think PCs should be exempt from paying for DLC? When the PC gaming market was stronger, there were developers releasing expansion packs at about 1/2 the cost of the game (more or less). What is DLC but an expansion pack in bite-sized chunks? Having said that, however, I am aware that some developers don't handle DLC so well or even take advantage of customers. Expansion packs, though, often had nearly the content that was in the original release; just take a look at Half-Life: Opposing Force.

It's all about automobiles again! Spoiler tags, Hot Heart! Spoiler tags!

I thought DirectX 11 support was to be patched in. Ah well, I'm running Windows XP anyway A Polish review is up. 9.5/10, for those of you who care about scores and the like. http://www.gry-online.pl/S020.asp?ID=7449

I think his logic is severely flawed here, by the way. I get the sense that he & the other execs at Crytek were sitting there staring at some Crysis piracy numbers and doing the math in their heads... "X million pirated copies times $50 a copy... we lost hundreds of millions of dollars due to pirates!" when in reality God only knows how many of those pirates would have otherwise been paying customers. The relationship between his game's sales and piracy is totally assumed here, and he completely ignores the difference between the two markets.
-
But Call of Duty is on PC as well, so that's kind of a moot point. EDIT: Just saw you were referencing Dean's point regarding CoD. Still, unless we're talking about console sales trends vs. PC sales trends, I don't think I see the relevance.
-
Fair enough, the way your comment read made it sound like the PC gamers who complain are the very same ones who pirate, which is not the case. I don't know that the piracy ratio is 10:1, either. Do we have solid numbers on any of that? I believe The Witcher 2 will be DRM-free on GOG.com, not sure about other distributors. Also, it's not a problem to me when dev's support multiple platforms; in fact, I think it's awesome that more people get to experience their games. It's only an issue when one platform tends to get shafted because of their support of the other consoles.
-
I think Brian Crecente is just a really big fan of the series, so that affects the site's content obviously.
-
Console games get pirated too, quite a bit actually. And I don't really appreciate you lumping all of us together like that - the PC crowd that "wants to be catered to" is not entirely comprised of the guys pirating games. I have paid for every single game on my PC, and it's frustrating to get treated like a pirate when I support the companies that put out these games. Piracy, while a complex issue, is not a valid excuse to ignore or shortchange the entire platform, especially when you look at the success of PC development companies like Valve or CD Projekt who don't treat their customers like criminals.

I saw Megamind finally, I almost fell asleep it was so boring.

Trying to cut down on the calories, so I picked up some Coke Zero. It's not half-bad. It's not half-good either though...

One site posted a rumored list of titles for Project Cafe/Stream/Wii 2, but it definitely reads like a phony. Madden and Bioshock timed exclusives? I don't think so. http://www.joblo.com/digital/index.php?id=8918
