Made it to the final boss in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and uh... Multi-stage boss battles without checkpoints fucking suck, specially in a game where you only have 3 characters in your party and no way to bring back anyone who gets knocked out.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Holy moly, this was awesome! Loved the creepiness, the horror, the atmosphere, everything, graphics are awesome too. Mr. X was terrifying, from the moment dude shows up, then hearing as you walk around, doing your thing, those moments when you walk into a room and he walks in from another entrance, his theme starts playing and you start thinking about whether to run, hide, or what, walking into a room as he walks out is also quite the thrill. Easily my favourite part of the game. Only thing missing was some cheesy funny goodness, with those, this would have been really close to beating RE4 as my favourite, as it stands, it's still in second place, but not that close. With all settings on max this game looks incredible, the RE Engine does some neat stuff. \m/ \m/ Thought about trying to get all achievements, only have a couple left, but maybe later. Resident Evil 3 Remake Kinda wish I had waited a bit to start this one, not that it's a bad game, but man does it pale in comparison to RE2R. For starters, Nemesis is more of an annoyance than a horrifying threat, all his encounters are scripted, or lead to a boss fight, which is not bad on its own, but after dealing with X, this falls flat. Then there's the length, quite short, RE3 was already a short(ish) game, and this one is even more so, wouldn't be an issue if it had been the result of streamlining or improving certain parts, but instead this is the result of a good chunk of stuff that got cut. It's also a fairly linear affair so there's not as much incentive to replay it, unlike RE2R where you can try to find the best route, get stuff without backtracking, or memorize the layout to better avoid X. Not to say that 3R is a bad game, but it does kinda come short as a remake, although if I had paid full price as opposed to getting it on sale as part of a bundle with RE2R then maybe I would be a bit less forgiving. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you really want to play all RE games or if you can get it on sale. Having played these, I'm kinda worried about the inevitable (and unnecessary) RE4R, I expect them to cut about 50% of it, make the rest super linear, and likely without all the funny dialogue. My goal of playing all RE games I have before Village has been completed! HELL YEAH! I could try and replay Code Veronica, but I don't know if it's worth the hassle of moving all those cables in order to plug my PS2. -
Resident Evil 2 Remake HOLY MOLY THIS IS A WHOLE NEW BEAST. I was not prepared for this, super creepy, horror in full blast RE style, gore turned to 11, all that good stuff. Really enjoying it so far, even though Mr. X has given me a couple heart attacks already.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 This was pretty cool, much more horror than pretty much any game post-RE4, up until the remakes of 2 and 3 at least, the action feels well balanced with the creepiness, and although at first I wasn't convinced, I ended up enjoying the partner system and being able to switch between characters. Barry being back is the highlight for me, specially since, he and Claire confirm that Jill sandwich and master of unlocking are canon, even if REHD tried to change it. Barry's line at the end was pretty funny too. Story was fun, originally released in episodes, there are cutscenes at the start and end of each chapter with the "Previously on Resident Evil Revelations 2" and "Next Time on Resident Evil Revelations 2" stuff, these are cool, but also a bit redundant if you're playing now that the full game is out. There are references to Revelations 1 and RE6, although the RE6 comment was kinda odd, given the events of that game, you'd expect people to be a bit more on edge, but maybe they've gotten used to zombies and mutant monsters. Overall, a nice return to form, better than Revelations 1, good horror vibes, good action sequences, and the right amount of cheesy goodness. \m/ \m/ -

Resident Evil Revelations Short and sweet, much closer to RE4 in style, a creepy atmosphere, horror elements and a good dose of action. Movement can be an issue though, you can't sprint, just walk or jog around, which to me wasn't a problem, unlike RE4/5/6 you're not running around large open areas, instead, it's a much smaller, more claustrophobic scenario, stuck inside a ship that's in the middle of nowhere, so the lack of sprint added a bit to the creepiness to me. One thing that I didn't quite get was the dodge, you're supposed to be able to dodge most enemy attacks, but I found it very unresponsive, once in a while it would work, but most of the time it would do nothing. I also managed to miss the sniper rifle, later on, after looking up where it was, I realized it was in a room that I had been to, but after a quick glance, seeing it full of enemies and looking mighty creepy, I turned around, thinking it was an area to visit later on, once more firepower had been acquired, turns out, that's where you find said firepower. Story was cool, taking place between RE4 and RE5, not a lot of answers or anything major, but still fun enough. Also, for a game that was originally released on 3DS, it looks pretty good. -
My favourite so far, much better than El Cervezo and Tu Madre es un Cabra. Sucks that the album was pushed back to September.

Pretty much this: RE4 is way more creepy atmosphere with some action stuff than full horror, 5 is more action stuff with some light creepiness here and there, 6 is just "everything explodes!" with a paper bag mask that says "horror" in poor handwriting. Revelations on the other hand, is really creepy, more so than 4 IMO, there's something about being stuck on a ship in the middle of the ocean, with no help, and with monsters all over the place that's way worse than a Spanish village full of cultists. Although there are some chapters that really ramp up the cheese. -

Resident Evil 6 Getting through 5 was a breeze, much shorter than I remember and still holds up reasonably well, this one though, it's a completely different beast. For starters, it's like playing four games in one. Leon's campaign: Kind of a modern take on the RE style, a more natural progression from 5. Chris' campaign: Screw it! We CoD now! Explosions, war, mutant soldiers, car chases, jets! Jake's campaign: Run from bosses, fight some bosses, hide from bosses, some combat in-between. Ada's campaign: Some light puzzles, some mystery and intrigue, not as much combat as the others. Each of them is fairly long, I'd say between 7-10 hours depending on how you play and how much time you spend looking for collectibles and stuff. Probably less if you're playing in coop with someone that more upgrades. There's some fun stuff here, but there's also a bunch of issues, both as a Resident Evil game and as a TPS in general. Unlike RE5, which is way better in co-op, but can still be enjoyed solo, this one is made with a co-op focus, there's a ton of moments where, even if playing alone, you'll have to wait until the AI completes it's QTE stuff, a lot of just waiting for your partner to do something, a lot of covering or trying to work together with an AI partner to deal with bosses, etc. There's also too much of this "cinematic" stuff, by that I mean there's way too many times where you'll be running towards a door/button/lever/exit/goal only for something to explode or a monster shows up causing an earthquake, or whatever else the game does, and then your character falls dramatically to the ground, tumbles around for a bit and looks at the ground before dramatically standing up, ready to go again, only for that same thing to happen again... and again, after four campaigns of that stuff, it gets a bit tiresome. QTEs can be quite annoying, and once again, there's a ton of them, most of my deaths were from a couple of QTE fights. Weapons were a huge let down, specially after 4 and 5, there's only a handful of them, and most of the cool ones are exclusive to some characters, even within the same campaign, so if you want to use the lightning hawk magnum you have to play as Helena, but if you want the dual-wielded guns, you have to play as Leon, Helena also gets a hilariously nerfed version of the Hydra. Chris has his assault rifle, Piers uses a special sniper rifle, and so on, you also can't upgrade them in any way shape or form, all upgrades come from skills. Skills can be unlocked with skill points, sometimes dropped from enemies, sometimes found in boxes, some of them have different tiers, most of them feel pointless, as you really only need extra damage vs specific enemy types, and extra gun damage. Infinite ammo btw, is a skill, and there's one for different categories of weapons, so you'll have to sacrifice one or more of your current skills if you want to use infinite ammo. Story wise, well, it makes sense that 7 scaled down things considerably, there's not much left to do/places to go after this. I did like one of the bosses though. Overall, while I did enjoy some things, there's enough here that leaves RE6 firmly at the bottom of my RE series list, ignoring stuff like the Survivor games, don't remember much about those. Moving on to Revelations, which has already started strong, being way creepier, and with way less combat than 6. -

Nobody If you like John Wick or The Equalizer you'll like this one. The action is pretty cool, overall it does have a more comedic tone, compared to John Wick or The Equalizer, but that's not a bad thing IMO. Christopher Lloyd and RZA have some neat moments too. I also like that

Well, INE did their job, Salgado Macedonio, had his candidacy removed, this time because he, along with other MORENA candidates from other states, were unable to justify certain expenses as part of the electoral season budget. What follows is what MORENA has us accustomed to, the president accused INE of being a neoliberal organization created to support the global elite that seeks to preserve their privilege (never mind that INE exists in large part due to his tantrums against IFE), MORENA candidates from other states as well as other members of the party rallying to support this rapist piece of shit and then... Something that shouldn't be surprising, but that should still be enough to land some people behind bars. Salgado and his followers staged a protest, during which he threatened the members of INE that removed his candidacy. https://www.animalpolitico.com/2021/04/felix-salgado-no-plan-b-mario-delgado-pide-ine/ "If they don't redeem themselves we're going to find them. Wouldn't the people of Mexico love to know where Lorenzo Cordova lives? How the little fucker's house looks like?" It didn't stop there, cartel style, they held a "funeral" for their enemies: INE representatives, along with Lorenzo Cordova, INE's president, refused to lower down to their level. Affirming their decision and saying that all issues should be resolved through proper channels. After this, another vote occurred within INE, to ratify or walk back the suspension, the suspension stands, however, 5 out of 11 council-people voted in favour of Salgado, turns out, those 5 were "recommended" by the president, encouraged to "work for the betterment of the nation, against the elite". Of course, after this, the president has announced that INE has "too much power" and that it's a "waste of resources that could go to the good people of Mexico" so now he wants to destroy it. For the record, during Salgado Macedonio's time as mayor of Acapulco, child slavery and prostitution were common in the area, many "nightclubs" held "auctions" with knowledge and protection of local authorities and he himself was known for surrounding himself with young ladies, many of them too young. Guy's a sickening sack of shit that shouldn't be free, let alone allowed to run for such a position. https://m-x.com.mx/al-dia/felix-salgado-macedonio-en-acapulco-le-decian-el-senor-de-los-table-dance In other news, with the coming election, the president has already warned that, should MORENA not gain enough votes to control congress, he'll use his power to veto everything congress tries to pass. In his style he's warning that a non-MORENA congress will try to "take money away from the poor" and other fantasies of his. The good news is that no noose is a good noose, so having him veto everything and nothing passing is better than his servants approving his every whim. In other other news, the president presented a new vaccine, proudly made in Mexico, by Mexican researchers in Mexican labs, none of that foreign neoliberal bullshit, it's even called Patria (fatherland) to show what we're all about... Except that it's actually the NDV-HXP-S vaccine developed in the US and licensed to Mexico (and other countries) as a low-cost alternative to currently available vaccines. I'm all for more options, but the way this is being used to continue this idea of AMLO and MORENA being the holy saviours of the land is sickening.

Watched The Way of the Househusband on Netflix, I saw someone on twitter describe it as 100% laughs, 0% animation, and they're kinda right, the animation style is kinda rough, like a Queen Bee work (if you know you know, if you don't... you're better off not knowing ), but man is it a funny series, kinda want to check the manga out, see how it compares. Long story short, a former legendary Yakuza, the Immortal Dragon Tatsu, has abandoned his previous life, and now dedicates himself fully to his new life as a house husband, funny shenanigans ensue as he runs into former colleagues and rivals, def worth a watch... If you don't mind the animation style.

Nah, all good , I got that more from the article, seems like the first DG2 pitch got rejected, then, instead of working on changing it, or presenting different pitches, Bend got shoved into a couple of other projects as an ND support studio, effectively ending the hopes of a sequel, unless they're actually working on it now, that'd be a nice surprise.
-
I'd say it sounds more unlikely. I mean, I love Bloodborne, and would love to see it get a 4K60 patch, with those sweet load times and whatnot, but the article mentions Sony is much more interested in its giant blockbusters, GoW, TLoU, and the like, Bloodborne doesn't fit among those IMO. Demon's Souls was a surprise, but the original did need some love, graphics weren't the best, even for its time (particularly character faces), and load times were hell for a game were you would be dying over and over and over in the same areas. The new graphics are awesome, and those loading times make dying a non-issue as you're back in the game not-quite-instantly but close enough to not be annoying any more. RE4 definitively DOESN'T need a remake, or another remaster/HD port/etc., it still holds up, both graphics and gameplay wise, and it's not like I'm just remembering it fondly, I only just went through it (again), a couple of weeks ago. Anyone that says it needs a remake should check it out again, it holds up well, now Code Veronica or Outbreak... In terms of how a TLoU remake might have killed DG2... I don't think I've ever hated a game I've never played before, but here we are. Bend seems to be finally free to work on something of their own, but it looks like it's going to be a new thing, and since some key figures left the studio in 2019/2020, I don't see it being a Days Gone 2.

Some months ago several people, including the president whined about some US intelligence officials supposedly claiming that about 30% of Mexico was under cartel control*, they went on and on about how that was all false, that we're some kind of beacon of justice and hope, whatever. Yesterday, CJNG took control of Aguililla in Michoacan, the National Guard and the army retreated "to avoid further confrontations". Meanwhile, in Matamoros, the mayor had El Vaquero, leader of the Cartel del Golfo registered as a public official, ironically, as a member of the local Public Safety Secretary, this granted him immunity and allowed local police to move in and block roads during previous arrest attempts. https://www.eluniversal.com.mx/estados/alcalde-morenista-de-matamoros-tiene-en-nomina-el-vaquero-lider-del-cartel-del-golfo *In reality, if we count both direct (like what happened in Aguililla) and indirect (influencing elections, buying/intimidating politicians, etc.) it's probably closer to 60-70% if not higher.

Resident Evil 5 Just like I remember, a fun game to play on your own, a really fun game to play in coop, not exactly a good Resident Evil game. Much more actiony than 4, and lacking most of its charm too, still, not a bad game to go through, just not exactly what you're looking for in an RE game. Sheva as an AI partner can be godlike or terrible, give her a sniper rifle and enough ammo and she can clear an entire area by herself, give her anything automatic and she'll run into a room and get killed instantly. Even so, she did save my bacon a couple of times, still recommend playing with another human though, much better that way. The merchant is sorely missed. -
There might be some riff police going on here, with Slipknot's The Heretic Anthem, but still, pretty neat song, and cool solo. \m/ \m/

Resident Evil 4 HELL YEAH! Still holds up as my favourite in the series, the best mix of action and horror, with just the right amount of cheese , though I've yet to play the remakes, we'll see how those go. My favourite line: Salazar: "I've sent my right hand for you!" Leon: "Your right hand comes off?!" ???? Separate Ways and Assignment Ada are also pretty fun, Assignment Ada being all about how fast you can collect the samples and get out of there, while Separate Ways is a short campaign on its own, showing what Ada was up to during Leon's campaign. Most importantly for me though, after finishing this game several times on PS2, I learned that you can actually kill regenerators and iron maidens with the knife! Not only that, it's actually rather easy and saves you a fair amount of ammo, though it does take a while. It also has the best unlockable weapon: The Chicago Typewriter, does a ton of damage, looks really cool and it has infinite ammo! \m/ \m/ -
Looks cool. \m/ \m/
-
Resident Evil 4 I now know how to knife regenerators and iron maidens to death, this changes EVERYTHING.
-
Well, that explains that.
