I didn't play the closed beta so I don't know, so far, biggest issue I've had was with the first mission, where the dude wouldn't follow me, he'd just stay inside his cell not moving, had to kill him and restart the mission and then it worked. Starting to get the hang of helicopter flying, though aiming the mounted weapons is still out of reach. Also, the subtitles are funny, the dudes will say something like "alright motherfuckers! let's show them we have more balls than them, fuck them all!" but the subtitles say "there are more of us than them, show them who's in charge, attack!".

James LaBrie, Simone Simmons, Floor Jansen, Hansi Kürsch, Tobias Sammet, Russell Allen. \m/ \m/

Played for a bit yesterday, seems fun, though I don't like the way helicopters control, feels like it just does whatever it wants.

Looks cool, though from what I've seen, it seems like this is one of those games were if you don't have a group of friends to play with it's probably not going to be nearly as fun. Open beta starts this weekend and you can preload it right now.

Fate/Extella, really fun, though if you're not already a fan of the Musou style games then this will do nothing to change that opinion. Also, though some people find it annoying, I love the way you unlock that's really cool, and IMO, way better than the "complete every stage on the hardest difficulty" or "collect XYZ" thing some games do. Story is pretty decent too, starts out simple and then goes full Type-Moon after a bit, that's awesome. \m/ \m/

Beginning is NSFW.

6 Had nothing supernatural in it, it did have a gigantic railgun of doom though. Also yeah, they're pretty easy to get into even if you haven't played previous entries, though I did go back to play the others, just for fun.

Yeah the AC games are known for having cheesy melodramatic stories, but that (to me) is what makes them cool, and why Assault Horizon failed in that regard. FWIW, I got into the series with 6, so it's not like I had been playing them for long enough to "revere" the story and lore behind it, I just thought it was cool.

There's that, but there were also issues with the characters, story, etc. It tried to be too much like CoD or BF in terms of narrative style, and so, characters suffered from lack of development and boring personalities. There's also the DFM thingy, which was a huge issue for a lot of people, it was this thing that was supposed to make fights more cinematic, but it felt too scripted and was annoying in how forced it felt, with some enemies being super hard to hit unless you used it.

That's... not one of the best games in the series, and that's being too kind IMO, the series went somewhere completely different in terms of tone and setting with AH so, keep that in mind.

Figured this deserves its own thread. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-01-27-ace-combat-7-now-coming-to-pc-and-xbox-one-as-well-as-ps4 It's also going be on PC, PS4 and XOne, so that's a thing. VR compatibility is also pretty cool, though I ain't buying a PSVR anytime soon.

Quake 4. Pretty sure I've had this game for as long as I've had my 360, but I never managed to finish it until now, always got stuck in one of the last levels, now I can finally remove it from my backlog.

Someone spoiled the ending for me, and suddenly I'm really interested in this game, unfortunately, I don't have room in my budget for it.

Turns out, the extradition of El Chapo was just part of an elaborate plan to build tunnels under the infamous wall, joke's on you Trump, build a wall, we'll just dig under it!

I've seen a lot of people say "well, country X/Y/Z went through similar and they're fine now, so it'll be alright for the US", which IMO, is kinda naive, as I think it's not fair to compare the economic/military power/influence of a small third world country to that of the US, but eh, I guess I sort of appreciate the optimism. Meanwhile, our president cancelled a meeting with Trump, over the whole wall thingy, and now talks are underway to further expand economic treaties with Asia/Europe in order to lessen our dependence on US exports and imports. Also this: http://thebulletin.org/press-release/board-moves-clock-ahead10433?platform=hootsuite We're now at two and a half minutes to midnight, so that's a thing.

AI Software learns to make AI Software. So that's a thing. Currently it requires a ton of processing power to work effectively but still, reminds me of: Can't embed with timestamp, but anyway, skip to 4:38.

Fate/Extella, it's fun, though if you're not a fan of musou style games, this probably won't be for you. There's also a couple of issues with the translation, including that one of the characters refers to you as husband, even if you're playing as a female character. Also, though the trailers suggested subtitles for special attacks and, most importantly, Noble Phantasms, these are not actually subtitled in the game, which is a shame, specially since NPs are rather important in the Fate series. For now I would say, if you're interested but aren't a huge Fate fan, wait until it's on sale.

As far as I can remember, on the Vita version, arrows match the colour of the buttons. I did enjoy the soundtrack of BA, mostly since it was included with the game and getting to listen to it without worrying about buttons and stuff makes it easier to enjoy it IMO. Though for what it's worth, I could never get into the Hatsune Miku games, tried the demo for a couple of them, but the buttons/arrows/everything spawning in different parts of the screen, as opposed to a neatly organized line was too much for me to keep up. Overall, for me the best rythm game I've played has been Rock Band, and that's mostly because it gave me a way to play drums without annoying other people.
