  1. I'll have to pop int Dishonored as soon as I get a new PS3 because I don't understand this notion of "no precise aiming" on a DS3. Borderlands 2 was just fine, and what little I've seen of Dishonored seems to me that as long as you hit someone, you do massive damage.
  2. It's always such a blessing when someone pukes 30 ft. from your front door and making the whole complex hallway smelling like rotten fish and spoiled milk.

  3. Trade-in iPod Touch (2nd Gen) + Trade-in PS3 Phat (if cheaply repaired) + Sell old HDTV + Birthday Money + Next Paycheck = NEW PS3!

Would that equal new PS3 and a couple more games maybe? HOPEFULLY?

My iPod could get me $65, if my PS3 can be repaired cheaply, another $65(-repair cost). I want to sell my old HDTV for $80, and I have $60 in cash. If I'm patient, my paycheck will make up the difference and I could get that AC3 500GB bundle for $300.

Have you seen how much broken PS3s make on eBay? It may be worth just flogging it on there without fixing it.

  4. I'm pretty set on getting the remodeled PS3, but I still need to get my game disc out of my dead PS3. On the phone with the repair guy and the whole time I feel like he's coming up with excuses for me to pay him for something. "I could have been a memory problem all along, or you know we could replace the motherboard. If you get a new PS3, it'll have this problem too!" Probably, but the difference will be that a new one lasts 4 years as opposed to my twice "repaire...

Can't imagine much a hobbyist could do for diagnostics with how it's locked down software-wise... the hardware is definitely no small feat to analyze.

He has the tools and equipment, and even showed me the GPU chip on another board that was completely crapped and a container of lead solders he would replace on the board. He's a real technician, it's just I don't think he knows more than standard repairs on consoles. According to him, he's only had one other client with trouble after a reball and he said it involved the memory chips on the board. But for me he gave me a second reball and it did work until yesterday.

Just, even if he were to find a "solution," it would cost money and with how my console has failed twice after being repaired, I feel more comfortable with simply buying a new system. Like, even after my second reball I was paranoid about keeping my PS3 alive. Really, I had to get a second "permanent" fix. I have read online that others have had to get another reball because there is something else going on in the system, but that's it: I think my PS3 is flat out dead now.

  5. I woke up to the sound of a few electronic beeps. I get out of bed and notice my PS3... and its flashing red light. I push the power button, and there it is... a THIRD YLOD! During it's self-update, it just up and died again. I can take it back to the repair shop... but at this point I want my copy of Borderlands 2 and keep an eye out for deals on the remodeled PS3.

That's my intention, but I wish I hadn't put down $60 last night for Dishonored either. I could probably return it because otherwise I would have $200 saved up already for the new $270 PS3 bundle.

Much respect to you for trying to keep that machine alive, though. Not many people have that much love for one machine.

Agreed. My heart goes out to you. Outside of a few of my guitars, my PS3 is probably my most prized possession... so many hours of hard work, fun, and entertainment put into that thing. I'd be upset if something happened to it (and it doesn't even have PS2 backwards compatibility!).

  6. Mechromancer will be available later today! Tonight I took on Saturn by myself (I swear, my Internet must suck...) and literally melee'd its foot before I died. It gave me the best shotgun to take on all the loaders and other Hyperion enemies. However, I think after so many Second Winds, your Fight For Your Life duration is shortened. I almost made it to the goal, when a SGT Loader took me out. I literally had about 3-4 seconds to take out an enemy... one more shot would have done it too.
  7. Pre-ordered Dishonored a little late on Amazon so I won't get it tomorrow, but like I've said I probably won't pick it up right away either. Obviously it'll look its best on PC, but to be honest the game doesn't look as visually stunning as reviews are saying, and GT showed some of the A.I. flaws which had always concerned me during gameplay videos. At least the guards are not Thief-level stupid, but I'll definitely have to dumb-down my perception on stealth for this game.
  8. Yeah, I don't know if you get more experience if you get it right, like how you get more experience for not killing yourself in Kill Yourself, but you'll always get the shield. One thing I noticed is that the stats for weapons will change if you happened to quit before saving your current status. I did this to compare Moxxi's Rubi and the sniper rifle Mordecai was going to give me. I decided on the sniper rifle, but the second time it had changed. P.S. Mechromancer Skill Tree Some people are in a fuss because there are pony references. Have a thousand references in a single game, but dear lord you mention something about ponies and it becomes a disaster!
  9. Scratch White 2, I'll get Dishonored... but I'm going to play Borderlands 2 until I'm finished with it. Besides, with how invested I was with the last Pokemon, I don't have the time to sink into pocket monster strategy.

  10. My Thresher strategy? -Pistol -Alive? Melee Also, I've been earning so much Eridium that I wasn't tempted at all to kill myself in "Kill Yourself." The BFF optional mission though? Lawd, that took me some time to figure out. If any of you want to know the answer, or why the answer is how it is, I'll explain it. Shield was kind of useful for a bit, but I found something better later on. I should post my equipment tomorrow or something...
  11. I don't know if I've reached that certain part you're talking about Dean, though there have been many boss encounters where there is an Ammo Dump and Med station very close. I just finished up Where Angels Fear To Tread and I was properly prepared... I mean I didn't even use all the ammo drops, and an NPC giving me ammo wasn't as helpful. Anywho, I found the easter egg pistol Gwen's Head... It's literally my best pistol right now, and last night I had a glitch where my pistol ammo wasn't depleting. All of Sawtooth's bandits felt PAIN, MUHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!
  12. Brown paper, white paper, stick it together with the tape - the tape of love!

  13. Putting aside whatever party/candidate you support, I think we can all agree this is outrageous for a teacher/adult. Teacher Ridicules Student for Wearing Romney T-Shirt The teacher's excuse that she was joking around is complete crap. "Yeah, I'll compare you to the Ku Klux Klan and encourage other students to mock you, but I'm just kidding! By the way, mind if I scribble all over your shirt too? C'mon, we'll go out in the hall!"
  14. I set my game of Borderlands 2 to Public... not a single soul joined my game in the two hours I played.

I've had games with full parties a couple of times now. Awesome game, love it.

  15. That's pretty much what my SMG is for, but if I happen to find a pistol that can match my normal Vladof with a Corrosive ability, I could easily set aside having an SMG. Zer0 is like Mordecai's character: pistols and sniper rifles are the "class" weapons. Considering that SMGs don't nearly reload as fast as pistols, it has been a pain to reload when taking out Loaders. I once did keep different types of sniper rifles, but even at my level, a lot of the elemental sniper rifles have low damage compared to my normal one. I mean, if anything I'll want to find a good Lightning one, and sometimes a Corrosive one comes along. I'm not fond of Fire in general to be honest because I'm usually able to take out enemies just as effectively with normal bullets, though the benefit of letting elemental damage conserve ammo is always good.
  16. I'm not too concerned with weapon hogging. At this point I have a purple-colored rocket launcher able to deal 5683 damage, which has been OP for many levels, and my main weapon slot is great. I don't much care for assault rifles now, but I have one as backup if my pistol/SMG run out of ammo. When you wear one of those ammo absorbing shields, I find that most common ammo is for assault rifles. I have a great sniper rifle, and I finally got a good lightning shotgun again. Pretty much what elements I like to keep to certain weapons. Sniper: Normal, or Lightning SMG: Corrosive Pistol: Normal Shotgun: Lighting Assault Rifle: Fire Rockets: Explosive or, if high enough, Slag Grenade: Prefer Slag, but the properties weigh in a lot more (I'm not very fond of Bouncy Betties) Lightning sniper rifles can be really good, but once I ran into those Shock Nomads, I realized that it's good to have a non-elemental property so no one enemy has resistance. As for Slag, I know it's suppose to make enemies more vulnerable to other types of damage, but that's it. Once the enemy is slagged, slag ammo doesn't effect them with more damage, so you have to switch to a different weapon. That why I prefer my slag type to be those big one-hit weapons.
  17. It's pretty much a toss up ranging from either someone like yourself (i.e. first time and slower pace) to someone who is on their third character and run-in-guns it to each waypoint thereby making co-op more of a rat race. I probably will go for it, but from what I've seen it only takes one to spoil the bunch.
  18. I don't have much to say as these guys are not that bad, but there are some things that just confuse me. I've already talked about the acne cream in the refrigerator, and my beef being that it better not spill or I'll be pissed, but otherwise "R" is alright. Roommate "G" can be a dick. He's responsible and probably the more "adult" of us all, but when he wants something his way, it's so awkward and frustrating. He also keeps calling me by my legal name when I always go with my nickname. I've reminded him, but I think it's his way of being serious and crap. He doesn't give me trouble at least. Then roommate "J," the one that has all different conditions and medical mysteries. I treat him well and everything, but as a human being he still can do annoying things. He's a smart guy, but logic doesn't seem to come into focus right away. Like, as I said in my status update, him needing sleep. If you wake up in the night, you're sure to find him kneeling onto the couch sleeping. Literally face shoved into the cushions with his body almost doing this yoga stance. He'll wake up if you get near and act like you're expecting something from him and so he's getting back to work. I don't know why he doesn't just go to his bed... though I assume it's because his whole room is filled with junk. Not trash, but everything is laying out to where you can barely see the floor. It's probably why he does all his work, school and etc, out in the kitchen area. That's annoying in that, you know, the kitchen is where all of us make/eat food, so tons of papers and books filling up space seems out of place and a hindrance. He's still nice and if there was only one thing I ever got angry about involving him was when he set his alarm to blazing loud so he could hear it from the common area... at 2:00 AM.
  19. One of those nights where I am unarguably wide awake. On a sidenote, that roommate of mine might have these weird quirks to him simply because of his stupid as hell sleeping patterns.

    1. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

What are his sleeping patterns like? I have a pretty fucked up sleep schedule so I'm curious. Luckily, my roommate has next to no responsibilities so it's not an issue.

    2. CorgiShinobi

      CorgiShinobi

It comes down to him either feeling like he needs to go to bed early so he can wake up in the middle of the night to do homework, or stay up in the middle of the night to where the common area becomes a second bedroom to him.

Literally a week ago he complained to us to keep it down at 7:00 pm because he needed to wake up at 2:00 am to study.

  20. Double Post of Concern! Maybe it's because I was playing for the last four hours, but I've reached Chapter 14 and I have the strongest feeling that I'll need someone's help... and with how very few Borderlands 2 PS3 friends I have... I'll have to invite someone through... public... Other than that, kinda got pissed when I accidentally switched to the wrong weapon in Fight For Your Life mode. That single second cost me the critical hit I needed, and I probably could have kept the targets health above 50% for that extra bonus junk/whatever. Either way I got my precious 3ng13 head! Also, my Vladof pistol + Sheriff's Badge = Delicious Death!
  21. Feeling like posting a new roommate rant. Seriously, who puts acne cream in the refrigerator (and yes, I checked to see the temp storage, it's suppose to be room temp).

I... gotta agree but with dog food. I hate going to my parents, opening the fridge and seeing dog food there. It'd be fine if the labels SCREAMED at you dog food, but as they are you only realize it's dog food after you've set your eyes on it, decide you want it, and then read carefully. Ultimate doggy disappointment

Not fond of someone's creams around my food FDS. All it would take is for the thing to tip over with a loose cap and there's medical cream all over people's food.

  22. Pretty sure I'm at that stage of illness where my body is getting better, but all the coughing and sneezing is the virus trying to spread to others. Still a better story than Resident Evil 6 as far as I can tell.

I'm just sniffing a lot now. Final stages. We're more deadly than whatever virus is in RE6.

  23. You know your job is absolute shit when, clearly being sick and coughing everywhere, your supervisors and manager act like it isn't problem. Yeah, working around food, but it would be a bigger issue if I wasn't there... Willful ignorance at its finest.

Obviously they got their ServSafe done by someone else.

  24. I know a few people who are still going to get the game anyway, and I fully expect them to lie to themselves about anything deemed atrocious. EDIT: And IGN giving it a 7.9 isn't like GameTrailers giving it a 8.8 or even Game Informers 8.0.
