  1. The Minecraft Easter Egg is massive! I'm not much of a fan of Minecraft anymore (it got old for me), but having seen the hidden area, it's pretty hilarious/amazing. EDIT: Amazing weapon, but with a significant cost.
  2. I have some of the worst/boring reading assignments of my whole college experience ahead of me, and there's a quiz on it all and it's timed.

  3. I was hoping for a collection with 1, 2, and BBS. I might get this still, especially if my PS3 does finally die and I can easily get all my PS2 games on that new PS3 model. I mean, all I have is Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, the Metal Gear Solid Collection for PS2, and the Half-Life port that's surprisingly good. This collection, the HD Metal Gear Solid collection, and get Half-Life on Steam and make it Black Mesa! 358/2 Days wasn't really bad, but it also wasn't really good. It at least had more story elements to it than Re: Coded. That's why I suspect 358/2 Days is included: Xion. Not to mention people eat up moments with Axel, so a bunch of Roxas & Co. cutscenes isn't too strange.
  4. It's primarily solo-friendly because you've got characters talking and dialogue about 20x more than in the original. In the first, you'd get a mission, go about it fighting enemies and if they were human you'd hear some gibberish. Once you finished the mission, you'd get some dialogue and you're alone again. In the sequel, so far I've had multiple conversations with Claptrap, Sir Hammerlock, and Handsome Jack. It also helps that the human enemies have some dialogue rather than generic sounds. It still has massive areas which would make having company more enjoyable rather than you running alone.
  5. Gonna bring this up, but you know how the Ice King use to be human? The impression I get from some of the "people" and creatures of the show is that perhaps they can become human if they lose their power. Ice King was transformed by the crown, and he does lose his powers when he isn't wearing it.
  6. When I saw the launch trailer, I got the feeling they were spoiling a cool turning point in the story. Though, months ago we did see Lilith return, but it could have been a mechanic that brought back your previous Vault Hunter or something. Anywho, gonna add whoever is getting this on PS3.
  7. Must have spent an hour tryingto get a time less than 1:35 on that hoverboard race in R&C just to look up I should turn in the trophy and have the TNT cleared so I can jump the corners. THANK YOU INTERNET!

  8. Began playing Ratchet & Clank... Man, did I ever miss out on a great series without having a PS2.

Don't play them back to back, especially if you try to 100% them. Great games but man am I tired of them.

  9. How Borderlands 2 Fixes Borderlands 1's Eight Biggest Problems (EDIT: Goes to Page 1 now...) I haven't been really hyped for the game, but with all this confirmation of how the sequel is definitely improving on the first, I can't wait! If only I had more friends who weren't getting it for 360 or PC.
  10. The whole Bayonetta 2 exclusivity has reminded me of how ridiculous gamers can get over these things. It reminds me of when Oddworld went from PlayStation to Xbox. I think we know by now, but in case not it was because SEGA dropped the series and Nintendo swooped in to claim the property. The reactions ranging from disappointment to people willing to vandalize copies of Bayonetta 2.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eu-xFvLaE68 Always have loved the band, and I'm glad to have a physical copy of their first studio album. I just wish I could have seen them live the last time they came to town.
  12. It's better than having to fiddle around with an active "inventory" system while enemies are swarming to get you just to find the herbs you've picked up. There is a "health tablets" button, but I don't know what the hell that actually used, but the demo wasn't keen on teaching you anything and the loading screen controller layout would go by very quickly. It's downright awkward, though I'm sure it'll improve once one plays with it more. It's simply that they wanted something different, but not everything will be for the better. Dodging for example seems useful, that is until every time you dodge you lay on the ground and the enemies I face weren't exactly willing to give you time to pick yourself up each time you "dodged."
  13. It helps that my local Best Buy actually became better while others have gone downhill. And having my hourly wage decrease rather than increase is strong incentive to find something else.
  14. I'm pretty sure that's what happens when you keep a console alive for a decade rather than discarding it to the wayside in favor of its successor. I believe I've said this before, but you'd be surprised how often PS2 related content stayed alive in the last couple years for consumers. It became a cheap, but strong, family centric alternative to the PS3 and even the Wii. A $100 console that still got multi-platform releases that were tailored for kids and the would-be "casual" market given the expansive library that became dirt cheap to stink your teeth into. It's not like the PS2 was strong competition for any seventh generation console, but it stayed relevant thanks to Sony keeping it alive and having a strong presence from its own generation. Not to mention it being an early DVD player gave it a strong start much like the PS3 became a great Blu-ray player alternative.
  15. Bleh... I think it'll take time to get use to the new item management system. I mean, if they could have kept something from RE4/5, it would be how you dealt with items. I just get this feeling that there was this motivation to make RE6 really standout since 5 was so close to 4 and this is suppose to be a big revival for the series. EDIT: Oh, and while an in-game HUD for weapons and other stuff is cool, it's not so cool when you're trying to adjust settings in an active environment. Leon's stuff I liked, but nothing really happened in the demo. Chris's mission was a cluster of crap piled together while you shoot retarded enemies. It's like someone vomited on the screen and you're hulking around ladders and small inclines that just have to require you to press X (or die)! Jake... I didn't even finish it because I was still trying to get use to the controls, but I think if anything I'll go with the Leon campaign, then Jake's, and last will be Chris.
  16. I forgot I've had access to the RE6 demo since September 4th thanks to my purchase of Dragon's Dogma. Downloading it now, will edit later with impressions. I'm glad I don't have classes or work tomorrow!
  17. I recently learned that if it becomes really hot, the plastic dashboard will release chemicals inside that will cause glare. Tonight everyone's headlights were irritating, and those bright blue hued ones were blinding I swear.

So anyway, moral of the story is to make sure you clean the inside part of the windshield too.

  18. I had a friend who would create a ton of levels too. I made one on the original, and I never got around to finishing my second. I do feel like I never took full advantage of LBP2 since my ideas never translated well. The things others could do however? That was worth it, but I still never bothered with the PSP version.
  19. I was at Best Buy asking about the position I applied for (beats my current job), and instead of simply driving there just to ask a few questions, I thought I'd look around. It turns out they had it discounted for $30.
  20. Mister jack mentioned this on the last page, but 8GB is better than the Xbox 360 4GB at least. Looking through all the coverage, I still believe Nintendo is trying to make this a hybrid console with the two different SKUs. The basic one applying more to families while their more "gamer" centric one offers four times the memory and comes in the "Hardcorz BLAK!" I'm a little more tempted in getting a WiiU with $350 being the highest, and having a bundle or two, beats the start of the seven generation when consoles ranged from $400 to $600. I even have a spare external HDD with 160GB which should last a long time given that I've only filled that much on my 250GB for my PS3 in four years.
  21. Going to contribute to the "Ghost Thread!" 1 in 3 people believe in ghosts, and I'm one of those three, but I don't take to such drastic theories and behavioral superstitions. I find most ghost specific programming to be a load of crap, especially those "celebrity" ghost stories and that recent "Haunted Collector." I'm pretty sure the folks want to find a good antique and claim the "paranormal energy" is coming from it. I don't expect anyone to believe in ghosts until they have an experience. Most of the time you can rationalize "ghosts," but I had one experience that I tried my hardest to disprove. I was about 10 years-old and I was having difficulty sleeping. I was wide awake, but I also had this strange feeling I wasn't alone. I kept laying there and eventually thought maybe if I woke my parents they would have some idea of how to get me to sleep. Our house wasn't that large and was one floor. I was walking through the living room when I had that feeling again that I wasn't alone. I looked out the window and noticed the neighbors opposite out yard were leaving in their car. One of them worked late, so they would leave during the night regularly. Before I entered the hallway, I saw in the reflection of a picture frame two red oval shapes. I instantly thought this was coming from through the window and was the neighbor's rear car lights. Thing was, they had already left. Where was the red light coming from? I looked at the red shapes more closely, and as I stared they blinked. Now, not flickered, but when someone blinks their eyes, the way the lids come together is very distinct. I dashed for my parents' bedroom and jumped on top of their bed. I reacted, not imagined eyes staring back at me. It scared me real good, and for the next few days I came up with different scenarios of what could have happened. I didn't have any other experiences like this, or really any other at that house, but for the life of me I could not see where red light in the shape of two eyes could have came from. My sister didn't believe in ghosts either, that is, until she had a roommate who was into all sorts of paranormal and "dark magicks." Freaky crap would happen sometimes and it didn't help that her roommate would welcome all of it. It's cliche, but kitchen cabinets opening up and things breaking with no one else around to do so? According to her, it would happen and she would always try to keep herself busy outside of her apartment. Not to mention all the dolls and figures this roommate had that she would decorate with were not "comfortable."
  22. That Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection is probably going to be my next Wii game. Six classic Kirby games for $40, even if I have half of them in some form or version (Super Star Ultra as opposed to Super Star).

TCP: Metroid has been that "other' Nintendo franchise the way I see it. After all, the bulk of Metroid games has been the mid-2000's, so for 15 years there were only three Metroid games: Metroid, Metroid II: Return of Samus, and Super Metroid.

There have been more Kirby games, and Kirby games have sold better (especially in Japan). That's why there's a Kirby anniversary and not a Metroid anniversary.

At least this has more games than the Mario Rom disk they sold last year. That thing was such a ripoff.

  23. I'm hooked on The Walking Dead game, as in I finished all three available episodes within a 24 hour period because I love some of the characters and it actually gets an emotional response from me. NO ONE MESSES WITH CLEMENTINE!

Yeah they're fantastic for sure. Really emotionally draining and I'm definitely attached to the characters too. Very very good.

I was ready to throw that god damn hobo right off the train when he told Clementine that what happened to Duck would happen to her.

  24. Totally forgot to share the new Sifl & Olly series! Years ago I got some TV rips on DVD off eBay since the show doesn't have an official DVD release other than that leftover "Season 3" disc. Though, honestly, all the good moments are uploaded on YouTube already. But anyway, chew your food people.
