  1. I'm rather against night time jogging. As a driver, the joggers who dress in dark colors must have a death wish. I know the town's roads in and out, but it's still difficult to spot joggers who are essentially wearing street camo.

Forget bright clothes, I've got a better idea!

      ...okay, maybe not.

Just this night there was this jogger who was wearing a dark orange shirt and black shorts. The street lights around campus emit an orange light and this was at 9:30 pm. Myself and another vehicle didn't notice him until about 40 feet from the crosswalk.

We weren't about to hit him head on, but the guy kept walking like he expected us to stop. Sure, he was on a crosswalk, but it was almost pitch black with only one light source.

Just run over them. Natural selection at work.

  2. After losing a piece to that Helghast Scout, I think I'll pass on most Collector's Editions unless they're both affordable and have practical bonuses. The Helghast helmet bust itself takes up too much room for my apartment, not to mention it only holds a game and a small book.

  3. Finishing up Amnesia last night gave me some disturbing dreams. Old mansion, creeper servants, and angry ghosts of suburban families. Yeah, don't ask me about the last one...

So about that angry ghosts of suburban families dream?

  4. I didn't really spoil anything other than there are jump scares... Well, I guess partial solutions to near-end puzzles, but one of the great things about Amnesia is that the scares are also contextually based. It's not really a linear game, though your goal is to make progress is one direction. Depending on how you go about your path you'll be faced with different scenarios, though in time you'll be able to predict when the game is going to make things difficult. Almost found all the pieces for that puzzle? How about we add a wandering monster in the dark! Your approach is what makes facing these obstacles all the more memorable. EDIT: For example, I hadn't quite finished a puzzle yet, but I began progressing further. I entered a hallway area, but then the music for being spotted began playing. I didn't know where it was coming from, but I began to run. I thought I would be safe in the nearest room, but as I turned around whilst in the corner, the monster dashes in and kills me in one hit. Later would I realize that it was the game's way of telling me I went too far ahead. And Amnesia isn't simply a "scary" game. It's also quite disturbing. Sorry for anything that seemed spoilerish, just I thought after two years since its release I could post about my experience with one of the best $20 games I've played.
  5. Does anyone know someone with Asperger's? I moved into my new place earlier this week and one of my roommates seems... off. I was recently reading about it and realized it could apply to him, but to me it's something you just don't go up to someone and say, "Hey, do you happen to be suffering from this disorder?"

Ever thought because you've recently read about it you're now attributing it to other folks. Socially awkward and pensive just means they're socially awkward n pensive. Unless there's some expensive aspergers drugs, then yeah he's aspergers.

Yes I've thought of that too. My intent was to see if anyone had any experience living with or had ever known someone with Asperger's so I could see whether I was connecting dots that didn't exist or I happened to access the situation correctly.

I mean, I originally just thought he was odd, but he did also tell me he has had medical issues, so it got me thinking.

So yeah, I'm not going to say anything unless it starts to become a problem. Other than awkward conversations and finding foods and clothes scattered about, it hasn't been that big of a deal.

  6. Wow, Amnesia is REALLY good. Like, watching it is one thing, but actually playing it is a different experience. I do feel spoiled in that I know not every little sound means something, but when a piano is playing and I come back to find the seat and keys messed with...

  7. Amnesia, and since it's so old I don't think I need to link to any particular photo of the game. (Also I'm lazy right now.) I'm really going to have to tone down my game purchases and only get the ones I really want and have the possibility of playing for a long time. Went to Best Buy yesterday and I passed up so many games, though it was fairly easy to pass on PS3 games since it was only yesterday that I took the PS3 in to "see what the problem is" with it. (Hopefully I find out later this week.) Kingdom Hearts 3D, The Last Story, and NSMB2 were all expensive. Of course, I could always go to my backlog of "nearly finished" titles too.
  8. Feel like I'll be posting a lot of "old" videos, but here's two. Also, for the one Spork posted, check out the user's (laek) other videos. He seems to have the more "iconic" SFM videos.
  9. Moved into new place, have Internet, and as far as I can tell I have 99.9% of my stuff. Of all the little things that survived the trip, I believe I lost the rifle to the Helghast sniper figure. Maybe it'll turn up, but I happen to be getting rid of a lot of stuff too.

Oh, also have my wonderful mouse back and currently downloading Amnesia. I watch a lot of "Lets Play" over the summer and I've had the desire to play it for a month.

  10. Oh yeah, Seven Psychopaths looks like it could be amazing. Even if it turns out mediocre, I'll want to see it.
  11. I knew we had a Dead Space thread somewhere! Kinda a big development given that all we've done in the series is use nodes to upgrade stats. What little we see though looks like a third-person dual wielding solution. At one point it almost looks like Issac is holding a Line Gun and Ripper combination. I'm sure there will be opportunities to mess with the stats of your creation, but still seems like they're giving the less popular weapons a function. Seriously, the flamethrower has rarely ever been good. EDIT: Oh, and I guess we could call this the "Dead Space" thread.
  12. Oh lawd, I knew there was something about the title trying to reawaken a repressed nightmare.
  13. I think she was more concerned about the possibility of having to kill someone with her own hands, but then the dude tells her to make the target kill himself. People have been thinking she's like an assassin, but she comes off more as a spy/agent who doesn't get involved and gets out. Or it could be like Deus Ex where we do have a choice, but our character isn't the type who has actually had to kill someone before. Considering that her memories will soon be "gone," we could be able to mold her into what we want her to become. All speculation mind you, but it would be cool considering she becomes a blank slate.
  14. So technical: "representative footage." It's still a video that's suppose to be showing viewers the idea of "altering memories" and how you can accomplish your goal of locating a target through use of the terrain and enemies. While it's obviously all staged (knowing those guards would arrive) it's still displaying the mechanics of Remember Me just like the video for Watch Dogs.
  15. The only problem I can see when watching the gameplay is that it looked like you only had one chance to alter the guy's memory. Okay, so you knock down the bottle that he normally threw, but when it plays out you fail. You try "again" but this time the bottle is still down and then you get to alter another object. I wonder if there was a solution outside of those two items that would have done the job, like already breaking the mirror.
  16. I've been looking at all the Gamescon trailers tonight and I have to say that Remember Me one is my favorite. Seems like it has a lot of cool elements, though I've grown tired of amnesia plots. Difference is this makes sense for her to have memory loss.

      TheMightyEthan

Apparently it was originally called Adrift and they changed the name when the plot changed to a memory thing cause they didn't think Adrift fit anymore. I'd say not only does Adrift still fit, it's a much better name than Remember Me. Remember Me has no personality to it.

  17. They're really keeping the mushroom zombies hidden away. I think it's smart that they show the human enemies, but it's not like we've forgotten that something horrific and abnormal caused this world in The Last of Us. Gotta say though, I like how they reinforced the time period with the cassette tape. I mean, CDs were around when I was a kid, but popular music would still be released on cassette.
  18. "I love Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!"
  19. I've had the game since launch, but I never got around to beating Mega Man 10. I've beaten five of the bosses and my goal is to finish it this week. Considering that 9's Wily's Castle took me some time, this may not be realistic.

  20. You know, if my PS3 breaks ONE more time, I will probably get a new PS3 with the only consequence being losing backwards compatibility. Most of my PS2 games though have an HD Collection now. Except Kingdom Hearts, which is what is holding me back. Forget adding Re:Chain of Memories like I said in my previous post here. Instead, do what the MGS HD Collection did: a PSP game. 1, 2, and Birth by Sleep. You would have all the major Sony releases given that the rest are Nintendo platforms (Re:Chain of Memories could be part of KH2 if we get Final Mix).
  21. It's pretty much his own voice. Thing is, he voice acts a lot of teen male characters too and typically all it takes is the characters personality that slightly alters his pitch. Just watch him as Prince Zuko compared to American Dragon's Jake Long. Ones disgruntled and confused while the other is upbeat and "hip."
  22. Are there ANY N64 shooters that have aged well? I'm playing Jet Force Gemini and the whole time I'm thinking how much easier it would be to play if there were a second analog stick. If anything, Sin & Punishment plays well mainly because it's on-rails.

      JFG aged especially poorly.

I remember JFG...fun times. Not as great as Goldeney, but still some great memories.

I'm afraid to try and jump back in it.
