  1. I'm back full swing in Dragon's Dogma. I left off at Bluemoon Tower where I'll face "the" Griffin, but along the way one of my enlisted pawns was dropped off a cliff by a snow harpy. My thought? "That pawn kinda sucked anyway..."

  2. You mean when Rico killed Visari?! Rico was that "guns blazing" type character that did more harm than good. Hey, they've got some of our men captive? I'll rush in yelling because I'm sure someone isn't going to die when I burst into the situation! Sev had a good reason to be pissed/freaked. Visari himself was anticipating his death because he knew full well how the people of Helghan would react. It basically went down like... Sev: Visari, you're going to pay for your war crimes. Visari: Why don't you kill me? C'mon, do it! Rico: BLAAAAAARGH MOTHERLICKER I HATE YOOOOOOUUU!!! *death* Me: ...I hate you so much Rico. Many a Killzone player had a vendetta for Rico and hopeful dreams of Rico's demise in the sequel. That's not implying anything, but there was a high demand for his death.
  3. Yep, just like (as I recall) The Simpsons and SpongeBob Squarepants having the same South Korean animation studio.
  4. I think DVD is all we can hope for. Considering it's going to be forever until we get The Complete Second Season, the only possibility of a Blu-ray is a Complete Series Collection. That, my fellow adventurer, could be years away. Though I don't have a photo of it, I did get The Complete First Season today. Well, it finally arrived today as I got it off Amazon for $7.98. The UPS guys are super tricky here. If I wasn't 10 feet from the door, I wouldn't have heard the guy knocking. It's not like he needed my signature though, and I imagine delivering a tiny DVD case isn't such a high priority in his route.
  5. Tenzin: [to Korra] Your bending is the bending that will pierce the heavens! Anywho, I liked Studio Mir today on Facebook. Considering Legend of Korra is their bread n' butter now, there's a lot of stuff on it (though there was a Boondocks Season 4 announcement). Such things include...
  6. I'm not necessarily "doomsday" about this because I'm more so excited, but the thing I do fear most is that any subsequent antagonist will not live up to the magnitude of Amon. Unless we get some massive Spirit World madness going on, because Amon was still a man after all. The glimpse we saw of spirits and the Spirit World, that's another level.
  7. I was thinking yesterday about Killzone 3 and its multiplayer. Back when I was excited to get the Helghast Edition with all those bonuses, then to have the online not be as fun and varied as Killzone 2. Well, not until the retro maps came about, but then the classes themselves were rather tame to the previous set. EDIT: The single player is still great fun, just don't try to pay attention to the story. It's really hard, and I mean really it is, to sympathize with the "heroes."
  8. I get the feeling Nick didn't realize buying 14 episodes for a second season wasn't enough, but at the same time... FOUR seasons?!!?!?! I mean, when a second season was decided, that was 2010 and I wouldn't doubt that in two years the dozen of other shows featured on Nick are not doing so hot. In comes Korra with a new episode garnering 3.5 million viewers on a single day, and said episode entering the Top 10 on iTunes. I don't fault the original mini-series format, but given how Amon was going to be the only villain in Legend of Korra, we already got the ultimate villain as far as I can see. Just look at the antagonist progression in The Last Airbender. Whiny Zuko, then Admiral Zhao, Princess Azula, Azula's "Elite" Group, Combustion Man, having Dai Li Agents siding with Azula, and finally Fire Lord Ozai. The Equalists were well-tuned and lead by an effective, intelligent, immensely powerful man who was rarely set back.
  9. At my internship, the computer I finally received (five weeks later) for all my "intern" stuff looks like it might have been in storage since 2003, not to mention the keyboard and mouse have a THICK layer of grease, dirt, dead skin, and lint. Even the POS '96 computers at my high school running on '98 were in better shape.

      Mal

Might as well get your own. I would kindly ask for a small allowance to get something.

WTF are you using it for anyways? Word processing and such?

    2. Waldorf and Statler

      Waldorf and Statler

I got my computer at my internship after 2-3 official weeks [after induction into the company]. Mine is very old too. But all I really use it for is word processing and using the internet.

Yep, just word processing and Internet business/procrastination.

  10. The tank in... Chapter 6, right? (In the desert, etc) Yeah, there's a spike in difficulty there where placement and all those abilities of each soldier are vital. It's been forever since I've played the game, as much as I love it still, but I do remember the time I finally beat that mission. Freaking Lancers were key, but then... Well, no spoilers.
  11. Lets go one step deeper. EDIT: Finally got it to embed...
  12. Looks like I might as well have to get Super Smash Bros. (64) on the Virtual Console because getting a decent cart (and manual) is pricey. I guess the positive is it would effectively turn my Wii into the Smash machine (64 on VC, Melee is GCN, and Brawl is Wii).

  13. A friend of mine directed me to a tweet from this person who ran a local burger joint's account. They've been closed for a while, but I suppose tonight was special because this guy lashed out to the community and the "corporate whore." Drunk tweets, they have a certain flavor of, how you say, "lulz."

      「Advent Chaos」

got any screenshots or links c: ?

  14. I watched Blue Clues when I was eight to about ten years-old. Nick, at a point in time, was known for having a variety of television shows that garnered an older audience than what was intended. Seriously, just this morning I was thinking about how much SpongeBob was a cultural phenomenon because all the national news were doing stories about college students watching a "children's show." It was like a more socially accepted version of Friendship is Magic...
  15. Here's an old, but new, anime for Toonami! New Sailor Moon adaption set for Summer 2013.
  16. Club Nintendo Elite prizes announced... but I was 20 points short for Gold, or truthfully I didn't bother filling out "post-play" surveys.

    1. P4: Gritty Reboot

      P4: Gritty Reboot

I can't forget to pick up Mario Tennis and Electroplankton before they expire.

  17. Well yeah, that's obvious too. I've already staked my claim that anything involving the Patriots is going to be more in-depth while the redcoats will be the common (gameplay) element since they are the law enforcement of the area. As much as we can hope that this game will revolutionize (no pun) the current system of the series, I can't help but think we'll still see quite a few mainstays of the prior games. Sure, more outdoor terrain, but the villages might not act too differently. Might be strange since if we're suppose to be this impartial character, are we going to have an option to upgrade anything besides our own equipment? Given that Ezio was always suppose to be this pseudo-financer to the people, what would change if Connor is suppose to be outside of it all? EDIT: And I'm willing to forgo the prior discussion as I couldn't care anymore at this point. I've been know to beat a few dead horses, even kill a few jokes in my time. Good jokes too, good indeed.
  18. Not really. In relation to the live action spot? As far as I can tell, we really didn't go into any of the other scenes. Kinda funny actually... a kid gets slapped on the wrist, but we have torture, home invasion, and a church armory. Maybe because it was so different considering we see this stuff on other game trailers? A concept rather than physical actions? Anyway, who else got the steelbook case? Almost forgot I had that sitting at home collecting dust.
  19. Sweet, now I can afford that Hylian Shield I've been needing to get up Death Mountain! The person below me is going to enjoy his/her Friday like it was the last Friday they'll ever have, either due to death or a regular influx in space-time causing us to leap forward to Saturday afternoon.
  20. Yep, but still... IT'S ANTI-BRITISH! In fact, since we have Mel Gibson as the lead role, I wonder if that makes it anti-semitic too. Anyway, I'm finding it befuddling how this is the one thing we keep talking about. I mean, we could go on, and on, and even more so on. I hardly believe "British history" (if that's what it was even called) was not taught even after the war, but even I have forgotten what is probably the more important aspect to this all. Propaganda. Both the Patriots and Loyalists were knee deep in propaganda. People today will talk about how there's an "agenda" somewhere, but it was an undeniable truth in the Revolutionary era. Newspapers and pamphlets were more privately owned and distributed, and it stands to reason authority figures (bosses, captains, teachers) let their bias circumvent the work at hand. That's the thing, a teacher was the only source of knowledge for children. Whatever that lone individual knew was what future adults would know in their lifetime. (EDIT: It's said history is written by the victors, but one wonders how well a teacher can "read.") While I'm still more interested in the gameplay, we're probably going to see these biases as Connor (an observer) throughout the locations and missions.
  21. "Become a Game Design Ninja" doesn't seem very practical, or like a reasonable position for that matter.

    1. Pojodin

      Pojodin

Well, it's probably just the stealth aspect of it. Lots of people play a game without knowing the identities of the game designers. They accomplish their task without ever being seen. They live amoung us, their true purpose hidden by their casual appearance. For all you know, there could be a game designer in your presence at this very moment and you wouldn't even know it! Game Design Ninjas indeed...

    2. Faiblesse Des Sens

      Faiblesse Des Sens

I remember reading some article that was lambasting the use of the term "ninja" for everything in the tech and related industries. It's overused and quite meaningless.

  22. It's like we're forgetting the era here or something, right? Comparing educational standards (if any at all) of a standalone mid-18th century schoolhouse with the standards of a 21st century educational system. Flawless But I digress, this isn't the point still. And yes, I guess we would have to be willfully ignorant to want to deny the moniker of a British asset to become our own independent country making its own destiny. I swear, if this small clip gets you in so worked up about "Anti-British" sentiment, I hope you never find yourself watching The Patriot with Mel Gibson.
  23. A bottle of Goo Gone does wonders. Never again will I use another adhesive remover! Context: Successfully removed crappy Super Mario 64 labels off cart.

      TheRevanchist

I had paint all over the concrete after redoing some woodwork in front of the house. Put it on paint. Paint curls up and off. Miraculous!

      Nipah

Hell yeah... Goo Gone was my go-to label remover when my local EB games used to put stickers all over my PS1/Saturn game cases.
