  1. I think RE4 was scary in some way. Having played it multiple times however just conditions yourself to know what will happen, and thus you can properly prepare and defend. Seriously, the first time around and having Dr. Salvador breaking through a door to cut your head off was intense. Now? I know I can find a shotgun and a grenade (from a crow) to make him another casualty. The sound of him and his chainsaw is still shocking, but I'm not got to freak out now. Now when you went back to the church and there were some wolves growling at you from the top, with it being night, that was really unsettling.
  2. As a lot of people put it, "it's an anime for people who don't watch anime." Seriously, I could get so many people to watch Cowboy Bebop simply because it's not a stereotypical anime. It's always like, "Yeah and I don't like this Japanese cartoon stuff, but that space bounty hunter one was really good." The VA for Naota is a lady person. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0329361/ It's the curse of prepubescent male characters: getting a child voice actor is either poor quality or is never a permanent solution, or you get a woman to add a little testosterone to her voice.
  3. WTF, the English is good. I've watched it many, many, many times. I guess some characters are not dubbed to a "high" quality, but the main characters, especially Haruko, are well done. With that I leave this: EDIT: I will say this too, the voice actor for Amarao had great difficulty with Japanese names. I have the Ultimate Edition DVD collection, and in the outtakes the guy, for one scene, repeated "Haruko Haruhara" about two dozen times. He could not get "Ha-ru-har-a."
  4. I like it, as far as a box that will sit in my closet for eternity at least.
  5. Is anyone else getting a "Steam Error" when they try to launch Binding of Isaac? I know it received an update on Saturday, but I don't think my copy got it, unless I'm suppose to reinstall the game. Anyone know?

      Luftwaffles

Restarting steam usually fixes errors like that for me.

      Or try a file verification

I reinstalled and every works again. Everything was saved, so in a way it was like a manual update.

Still can't get past Depths 1, and I'm on like 29 Deaths.

  6. Oh eff, with the upcoming gaming mayhem, can I offered to throw out another $25? ........ Probably, as long as I don't buy any other media entertainment.
  7. Just beat Ico. Best way to describe this game would be "great" but also "finicky." Not so much the controls, but the execution on puzzle solving and navigating. The final part of the game is a testament to this: a lot of "leap of faith" moments.

Also, the version of Ico in the collection is the PAL version, a.k.a. the harder version. Again, not hard as in "puzzling," but execution of moves. When you get to the water tower part, you'll get what I mean.

I totally agree. I also wanted to take a baseball bat to the camera man following me around. Or cut him off from his whiskey or something.

  8. It wasn't hard at all to get to the third colossus, I even broke its armor in the first minute. No, what took me 15 minutes was climbing the thing five times because the character stops climbing at the smallest wiggle. That and it turned out the beast needed the SMALLEST of stabs in the gut after I finished with its head. Seriously, after a few stabbings it looked like I was done there, but NOOOOOOO! Still love the game though... :D

  9. You can use your mouse for aiming and shooting, but it's a little goofy at first, then unreliable once the difficulty increases. If it wasn't for the hilarious and plentiful amount of items, this would almost be a bit shallow. It's one of those games that takes a bit to master, but then you must play it more times to unlock extras and really get the most out of it. I love these kind of $5 games! EDIT: FRICKIN' MONSTRO II!!! That's it. Once you find the boss chamber, if you have near full health, go for it. I mean, once you've found an item or two, GO FOR IT! I was being OCD thinking there might be something else, but instead I wasted three hearts for a few pennies. I was so close, but SHOOP DA WHOOP is useless on tougher boss given how much they move. I traded it off for the Unicorn horn, but I don't know what that even did. Probably something more useful. Oh yeah, the Bent Spoon is probably the most helpful item: homing tears!
  10. Having a media blackout with Arkham City is practically masochistic with how much Rocksteady reveals each month. Seriously, I believe they've revealed every single villain in the game at this point. Not to mention a few twists and turns you face in the game.
  11. Friday, my only REAL day off. No work, no school, no nothing but myself and... WHATEVER I WANT TO DO! (Hopefully no homework...)

  12. I got an idea for ya... 1. Drink a lot of rum. 2. Record yourself playing Shadow of the Colossus. 3. ??? 4. PROFIT!
  13. Much like most comedy trailers. So yeah, I want to see the movie, but the Blu-ray/DVD is actually going to come out in two months. Seriously, November 29 of this year.
  14. Because you guys talked about it, I looked at it and got it too. So many times I "finish" a boss fight just to have some technicality kill me.
  15. Has anyone else ever wondered what the heck that chunk of metal on Ezio's wrist is (on the cover)? The "Hook Blade." Or should I say the whuk blade. You see, it has two parts: the hook and the blade. (You'll get this once you watch the video.)
  16. Well, off to hibernate for three days...

I got stuck two days ago playing the original Legend of Zelda... FFFFFFFFFFFFF

  17. Actually, from what I've read it's the PS2 version that's ported. That's why there's some hubbub about the graphics; they didn't port the slightly better variation of RE4. Realistically of course we're talking about going from PS2 to PS3. Trying anything with GCN/Wii to PS3 would be a disaster.
  18. I'm so exhausted, but my day is only half over. :'(

  19. I've never played Code Veronica though, and I don't plan on getting RE4 for a third time. 16 plays across GCN and Wii, with the Wii version still being my favorite. It's just a shame it doesn't look good on an HDTV. Trust me, I played it once on a 52" HDTV.
  20. Resident Evil Code Veronica I had PlayStation Plus months ago, and for the most part I don't mind not having it. The whole "free game" until you renew your subscription makes me feel like even if I get a game discounted, I don't fully have it. That aside, I didn't feel like throwing down $60, so $20 for the game.... and some avatars?
  21. I'll be playing Ico and SotC for the first time.
  22. Today I was suppose to give a presentation, and to be honest I was excited for it because it was a subject I actually had interest in. Scratch that because a student went 10 minutes over time. Yeah and class was suppose to end five minutes earlier too.

For our daily presentations, we don't really have a set time. However, the professor tells us to make it about 5 minutes.

Dude went on for 15 minutes.

      deanb

Damn. That's as much the tutors fault as the students.

      CorgiShinobi

Yeah, but the professor is cool so I can't be mad at him. More so the douche who wouldn't shut up, especially with a clock staring him down 20 feet away.

  23. I get the feeling that for the most part it was the staff wanting to nerd out on broadcast television. Then again, having watched some episodes of "Kids React," I doubt most of those references will be unnoticed. EDIT: I can't believe the comments to the video. Considering how widespread the Internet "culture" has become in recent years, it was only a matter of time until "memes" found their way onto television. Yeah it was pretty much a meme fest for two minutes, but that's the Internet in a nutshell... ...for now at least.
  24. Rocky, be glad you got your copy of the Ico collection off Amazon. I went to Kmart, but they were so ghetto that weren't going to have copies for some time. Best Buy had it, but only ordered a few, so they were sold out fast. I went everywhere, but I did get a copy.... at GameStop. FORGIVE ME! I had been driving for almost two hours going to every other store! AHHHHH!!!

Damn, that's too bad. My copy arrived at 5 PM today and I only had time to slay the first colossi before diving back into my bigass assignment for my graphics class :/

      TheMightyEthan

I got mine at about 1 PM... I managed to hang on until 3 before ditching work to go play it.

Atom, that is why we preorder. :P

    3. Strangelove

      Strangelove

It turns out that Best Buy and some other retailers tend to order a very small amount of copies of things that release with a sale or discount. the Ico collection I think comes with a 15 dollar giftcard at Best Buy. Thats why that happened. Also, buying at GS is fine if you buy new. Thats who I feel personally.
