  1. I got the Hurley Tron: Legacy shirt as a gift from my sister when see went down to California on a theme park spree with the extended family. Oh, yeah, that's me. Just another white dude, so pay no attention.
  2. Awesome girl already has a boyfriend. That's usually what happpens to awesome girls. At least I'm in the process of saving my PS3. Roommate is bringing over friends, so if they're anything like him, it'll be Hell on Earth tonight.

Hide it beforehand and refuse to give it up to them.

If they call you a jerk for not sharing it, call him an asshole for not taking care of it.

  3. Would you happen to be looking at someone in the shower there, Dee?
  4. Tomorrow, I move my PS3 back into my room and ask an amazing girl out. It'll be a big day, and I'm guaranteed to one of those things going smoothly.

Awwww yeaaaah! Atomsk is gonna save his PS3 and get the girl! LIKE A BOSS!

  5. I know I've been complaining about roommates alot, but just now I adverted another disaster. "Is it a good idea to cool off this glass pan with some cold water?" Assuming we're familiar with elementary science, you know the answer.

That's even worse than my roommate who honestly believed cold water would come to a boil faster than hot water.

Actually the cold water boiling thing isn't without merit. Just applied in the wrong way. If he was to make the room cold, the kettle would boil faster. (also make it a vacuum)

      TheMightyEthan

No matter what the room conditions are, a hot pot will always boil faster than a cold pot (assuming the pots are subject to the same conditions, a cold pot in a vacuum will boil much much faster than a hot pot at standard pressure).

  6. Back in high school (junior year) we used the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to help us know what jobs were available that fit our type. Sorta like the Role Variant, or what have you.
  7. I love how people are still yammering on about how "it wasn't Anonymous!" News flash, it's still technically Anonymous when a faction of the hackers continue with attacking PSN after the "official" declaration that Anonymous would halt all attempts. Amazing thing about leadership, if you can't see your boss, it's hard to be intimidated by any semblance of authority.
  8. Well, I can't sign in... The PS3 sign-in is suppose to set up the credentials, so it makes sense I don't have a full profile. Still, I was able to play with my friend when he was using his Mac. I guess it only works in Portal 2 for now.
  9. My apartment is like something out of a wildlife doc. On one end, a roommate as the pissed off bear, and on the other end is a roommate as the annoying beaver. I'm the duck in the air thinking, "It's going down!"

Advent, if it ever does down, and if I'm lucky, I'll film it. I've told the pissed off bear I would too.

And, just in case, I'm not making fun of your situation. Its pretty damn annoying from the sound of it but hey, got to make it seem not so bad. :D

Jesus christ Malicious, I Nostalgia'd all over my room and laptop, I almost want to cry.

Lookin' forward to possible video Atomsk :D

  10. I didn't set up a Steam account before Portal 2. I let my copy of Portal 2 on PS3 auto-create one in-game. After downloading Steam on Tuesday, I did the whole "PS3 - First time sign-in" process. While all of PSN fell apart Wednesday evening, bits and pieces of it were falling apart beforehand. The process didn't work as it would give me the "PlayStation Network is undergoing maintenance" screen. So while I have a Steam ID (Sheikah88), a password wasn't created and so I don't have access to, what I assume exists, my Steam account. EDIT: I mean, that's how me and my friend did co-op: Steam.
  11. The cop may have been full of it, but I can't find anything online that states anything. It may be one of those "dumb" laws that are rarely ever enforced. He gave them a warning and said for them to go inside is all. Slow night perhaps?
  12. So the Authoring Tools are out, or at least that's what the Facebook update says. For those of you who have access to Steam, you're a bunch of lucky bastards!
  13. And so the prophecy has been fulfilled!
  14. True, and I would say since you do have the game that it's a justified method to share since you can't lend him your copy without handing over your gaming PC. There's a long tradition of "borrowing" amongst friends, but pirated material can be a grey area. Before the big Napster fiasco, people would share music left and right. Now music can be a touchy area and people want to make sure they're within the right when they share their digital material. EDIT: Oh, and movies too. I didn't realize this, and maybe it's different across the pond, but you can't watch a movie outside with a reasonably large screen (i.e. laptop, televison, etc). Supposedly that would be a public showing of copyrighted material and so you must watch the movie inside. I only know this because I've had friends get in trouble with law enforcement when watching a movie on a laptop outside their dorm.
  15. That's really not too true. Sure, some games die out, but especially on PC most games retain a sufficient fanbase for many years. But at the same time you wouldn't get the bulk of gamers who have the game. If I were to purchase this game a year from now, I'm going to basically be playing against that fanbase: the experienced players. I'm not trying to be negative here, but I feel like this will be a game where you have to have been there at the beginning to get the most out of the experience. Anyone have Jump Ultimate Stars? Great game with a good single player structure. It had a solid online battle component too. The problem? After a year from its release, the only ones playing online were the fanatic experts who would wipe the floor with you by playing as Frieza and Ichigo.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but basically you're saying you would be giving him a pirated copy of Portal 2, right? You can't give him your legally bought copy since we're talking Steam/PC. See, I can understand his string of logic. It's similar to what a friend of mine did when playing Dead Space 2 on PC. He was playing a friend's copy on PC, but he began to notice how many PC games the guy had on his laptop. It turns out all the games were pirated. My friend got halfway through the game and stopped. When you let a friend borrow something, the friend may see it as, "Hey, this was purchased by my friend and so there's no illegal activity associated with me playing his copy he bought at a store or online." He probably does want to play Portal 2, but at the same time he doesn't want to feel guilty for playing the game. We all borrow things and we would live in a draconian society if we had laws against friends lending purchased goods to one another. EDIT: Forgive me Cyber Rat, but I'm going to attempt an analogy. Perhaps see it as a pack of gum. You can lend your friend a strip of gum and that would be common courtesy that you would be willing to share. However, the friend asks you where you got the gum. If you stole the pack of gum, the idea of them not purchasing their own gum isn't the problem, but that they would be partaking in a stolen product. Basically, somewhere along the lines of a tainted good.
  17. I'm not very interested in multiplayer-only type games. I mean, I wasn't even aware that Brink would try to attempt single player. Still, the point being that unless you can become the next Halo or Team Fortress 2, games that heavily focus on multiplayer have a brief moment of activity and therefore a brief moment of entertainment. As an example, how many gamers are still playing M.A.G.? So, the question being is whether Brink will be just as active a month from now.
  18. I say give it time and someone is going to come back to this thread and snap about something in the game. First week release always has polar opposites: "This game totally blows!" or "This game is so amazingly epic, bro!"
  19. I do remember scoring an INFJ type back in high school, but I'm sure the numbers were drastically different. Anyway, I think the reason why Myers-Briggs is highly regarded and used in schools and other facilities is that it can help define someone through generic scenarios. Not everyone is sure of who they are or what they're interested in. Where they would fit, or perhaps how they interact outside their own perspective. Of course I wouldn't say it goes that far into detail, but it's a good starting point for the individual to test the theory placed upon themselves. I'm not going to compare myself with Abraham Lincoln and Barack Obama, supposedly ENFJ types, but this could tell me I have leadership qualities I'm not taking advantage of for myself and others.
  20. I thought about this a little after signing off last night, and I would say that this did paint a good picture of myself. The low introverted/extroverted swap combined with NFJ verifies my desire to only rise to second-in-command. I rather not be a leader, but at the same time I have the qualities of a strong and understanding person who could benefit others if I were to take charge. Usually, at work, this is the case. I like to think, what with my experience at work, that I'm the unofficial second-in-command. If the supervisor isn't around, I take up responsibility to get things up and going. Of course, recently I've been too lax about efficiency, but that's because I don't care for my job anymore.
  21. I've taken this before, but that was back in high school. Obviously, things have changed! B) ENFJ 1/12/75/67 I've only become slightly extroverted thanks to college. I would probably still put myself as an introvert, but when there's a lady worthy of your time, one tends to open up and become a social animal. EDIT: I was reading up on the personality types (since I didn't read my description, or whatever) and supposedly INFJ is the rarest type. You and me Ethan, we're a special breed. EDIT2: Oh, and if anyone thinks I changed my type simply to be rare, well, ENFJ is also a rare type.
  22. I can believe that because I firmly believe that companies such as Sony don't bother keeping up with the latest in security and other attributes you'd think were unnecessary to constantly watch. EDIT: Oh, it was the software itself, not so much Sony updating... (I really need to see if there are any new pages ) After this intrusion, I'm willing to say that the industry is going to focus on online security for the next couple years. Microsoft and Nintendo have already claimed they have "secure" networks. However, if you ask me, I think that translates to, "We're probably in the same boat, so before anyone thinks of targeting us, we're looking into heightening security."
  23. One part of me wants to get Mortal Kombat for cheap, but another part of me wants to save my money for future releases. There's another part of me, but all it's concerned with is eating cheeseburgers.

depends on how you intend to play MK. If you want to compete online and against friends, the sooner the better. Otherwise everyone will be more skilled or they won't be playing the game anymore by the time you get it. If none of that applies, then wait. It'll go down in price and there's no hurry.

  24. Online play should be up sooner, but that's probably still another week or so away.
