  1. I guess this is as good a place to post this, so here goes! I'm running into a bit of a dilemma. As of now, I have half of the Tenchi Muyo OVAs on DVD. However, Tenchi Muyo is a rescued license in the hands of FUNimation. They've already started releasing collections of rescued licenses, such as the fantastic FLCL! Still, there's a problem I'm facing: there are no plans [as of] yet for the Tenchi Muyo OVAs! Well, FUNimation wants to eventually release the series, but there is no word of when this could be. If they do release the series, they could offer a Blu-ray collection like the one in Japan by Geneon Int. Yet, who knows when eventually will be?! Importing the Blu-ray collection, which does have the English dubbed audio, would be ridiculously expensive. On the other hand, will it be within the year we could find out about a release, or will it be a few years from now? So, the dilemma: Do I go ahead with purchasing the other half on DVD, or do I patiently wait for word of a much more recent collection? I like to purchase anime that I thoroughly enjoy, so no I don't want to torrent. Still Vol 1 and 2 were by far dirt cheap. Vol 3 and 4 will be quite a bit more expensive. Together I could get them for about the price of a video game, that is if I want NEW copies. Used, I usually only purchase if there are thorough pictures or I'm at a store.
  2. It has been far too long since I've seen the older Planet of the Apes films. The movie I was referring to was the latest Planet of the Apes where the protagonist lands on a modern-day Earth, but with apes as the dominant species. With the trailer above, I don't see any sign of human-on-human war. It really seems like humans are going to have to face off with intelligent apes. The thing is, unless some apes evolve into scientists and engineers, how exactly would the apes become the dominant species? Coconut Guns?
  3. Valve is quite the clever girl. What I mean is that everyone is playing the crap out of these games, but for the most part, it's because there's a promise of an early release. If the timer doesn't lessen any sooner, it would appear all the effort would merely cause the game to come out (perhaps) a day earlier on PC. The question is, is that worth it?
  4. I agree with Dean on the online service. Just improving that attribute could actually draw in lost customers. You know, when you purchase an online game, you'll actually be able to play online. If Nintendo could just accept that they can look to Sony and Microsoft for an example of online services, then who cares if some dorks are going to shout off comments that they're copying so-and-so. I do like Virtual Console and WiiWare, but it's almost archaic compared to something like PlayStation Network. As for the controller, I'm hoping Nintendo has realized that a standard-motion hybrid would be best. Motion controls do have a place in gaming, but they can not be the primary method for every action in your average array of games.
  5. In the near 23 years I've lived, I have never had a Big Mac. Today, I had one for lunch. It's was alright.

Pretty gross. Same goes for shitty fast food in general.

  6. Cowboys & Aliens: Olivia Wilde is some kind of hot alien humanoid; calling it! Apes: I guess this is the explanation to the other movie's ending. Like, a world where human weapons are pretty much useless against intelligent apes?
  7. Don't take this as a shameless plug for my university, but sometimes I forget how talented the Computer Animation (Visual Arts) students can be when given time and patience. I guess there's a reason why the acceptance rate for the major is, at most, 10%. Still, once you're in, if you work hard enough you'll be able to intern at Pixar! Quite a few have actually stayed on board with Pixar as well. I'm not sure of the process, what with being an Advertising major and all. I've had friends apply before, but last I checked they got the "Please Try Again" kind of rejection letter. Of course, you can always go the Computer Science route for Computer Animation, like another friend of mine, but it's not as high profile. If you want to be involved with video games, this route is where you would go. I know there has been some work with Electronic Arts, but that's all I've ever heard. Anyway, the full animated film "DreamGiver" won't be available for about another year. It's still on its way through film festivals, and etc.
  8. It's not hate, but it is massive frustration. Mario Strikers Charged. The game cheats, and trust me, I don't say that about any other game. It's fine on all the normal-high difficulties. However, there's a certain point where the game, I swear, becomes self-aware of all the little tricks and dirty tactics users could use to score goals. So, when you're trying to finish a tournament cup, all of a sudden the Computer Player gets nasty and begins using the teleportation ability to land inside the goal, and of course back flips to jump over every single teammate. Ball juggling was also a bit ridiculous, but nearly not as bad.
  9. Portal 2 is about to grace PS3s in a couple days!!! Oh, what? If I want to pick it up at midnight, I've got to go two towns upstate?! Anyway, another topic for an event I'm sure a couple of us have at least experienced once before; for better and for worse. I've only done one midnight launch before and that was back in 2006 for the Nintendo Wii. Got to sit inside a Wal-Mart for 12 hours. The guy at the front of the line had numbered cards, so we could get up and walk our passionate bodies around Wally World. Yet, it didn't feel like those rugged winter camp-outs in a parking lot types. For that I still feel like a virgin, waiting in a long line. I want you to teach me every little thing you know! Alright, for real, Monday night I'm kinda nervous simply because I've never been to the store I'm suppose to go to, and I'm not sure about the actual conditions. I've paid off the game, so I'm on a "list" to receive my copy of Portal 2. I won't be able to get to the store until about 10:30 pm, so I feel like I'll be late. Thinking of videotaping it too for laughs as I'll be alone this time. I had a friend with me last time, but the people were cool. Well, most of them except for this brat.
  10. I'm kinda confused with the Steam Achievements and Trophies response. It sounds like there will be Trophies not parallel with the PC version. I'm not [that] obsessed with Trophies, but it would kinda suck to miss some if I happen to be playing Portal 2 during a PC session. Still, I imagine I'll probably play the whole thing a couple times through.
  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2Lusu_6Qy0 I'll leave this one here as well... I know it's the Mad TV cartoon show, but give this bit a chance. Sometimes there's a few good ones in the mess of mediocrity; that and Beefy happens to be a murderer!
  12. Oh no, you've found a matching suit!

  13. I imagine, near the end, it's going to resemble the beginning of The Dark Knight. Vector: Hey Bertha! Bertha: What now? Can't you see I'm busy talking in my German accent? Vector: Knife! :mma:
  14. I think I might be a little paranoid. Not like, "There's a bomb in the lasagna!" Just, you know, "What do people say about me behind my back?"

That's not paranoia - people naturally gossip about other people they know. Hopefully they say nice things but that is up to you!

  15. Just by time and effort alone, I would have to say Pokemon. As far as a more specific title... probably Gen II (Gold and Silver). Only because you can travel back to Kanto and relive the Gen I glory days, and fight Red!
  16. Well, that kinda thing happens when one person owns the game and wants to play co-op with another sans copy. I know it seemed like this would be a unique occurrence to literally have two games, but from the start Valve always intended the free PC copy to be a PS3 user's portable copy, and if any luck, "Please join Steam" copy. So yeah, when you're playing one copy of Portal 2, you yourself are playing Portal 2. To switch to Portal 2 on PC, you get off your PS3 and, through that special linking, you can pick up where you were on the PC. I'm sure you can set up hoops and thus jump through them to make it so perhaps someone else can play the PC copy, but something tells me you would be giving up that copy simply because of all the "user account" hassle.
  17. I spent a lot of money today. Like, I seriously thought I was just going out to eat, but one thing after the other...

  18. I haven't stepped into a Hot Topic for years, but when I saw this shirt, I dished out the $20 for it.
  19. The way I read that is: local is split-screen and requires one of the copies. To play with someone online, use one of your copies. So yeah, I don't think you could hypothetically have your friend jump on your PC copy for co-op if you're using the PS3 copy. Then again, if there's local, why would you want to play on two different platforms?
  20. You wanna know the truth? *looks around* Well, it would have to be Viewtiful Joe. I was interested in the game, but I never gave it a proper chance. One day, my father comes home and he had bought me Viewtiful Joe. It was a present for something, but for the life of me I can't remember if it was a birthday or like, "Hey, you passed another year of high school without screwing up, here's a game!" Anyway, free game means I'll give it a chance. I gave Viewtiful Joe a chance and now I yearn for the opportunity to play a Viewtiful Joe 3.
  21. June 19, I'll be patiently awaiting your arrival.
  22. There's something special about the Elite Four in this installment.
